Nice

ZALMAN CNPS9900MAX-B 135mm Long life bearing CPU Cooler Blue LED
ZALMAN CNPS9900MAX-B 135mm Long life bearing CPU Cooler Blue LED

Pros: Quiet. Keeps my CPU cooler than a H60 water cooler. Can almost use this without the fan, just as a passive cooler.

Cons: Needs stand-offs to screw into the backplate, then screw the heatsink down to the stand-offs. It's rather difficult to have to hold the back plate on while you try to screw the heat sink on without being able to hold the heat sink, because you don't have 3 hands. The double sided tape helped...the first time. But I had to RMA my mobo and the tape was useless after I had to pull off the backplate. Besides, seriously, TAPE?! The best thing the designers could come up with...was tape?!

Overall Review: Great for an air cooler! -1 egg for the obvious design flaw. Once again...TAPE?! SERIOUSLY?!

Expected better

ASUS VN248H-P 24" (Actual size 23.8") Full HD 1920 x 1080 VGA, 2x HDMI MHL Compatible Built-in Speakers Super Narrow Frame Design LED Backlit IPS Monitor
ASUS VN248H-P 24" (Actual size 23.8") Full HD 1920 x 1080 VGA, 2x HDMI MHL Compatible Built-in Speakers Super Narrow Frame Design LED Backlit IPS Monitor

Pros: Great picture. Bright backlight. Thin bezel. Lightweight.

Cons: Bought 2 and one was defective with 2 thick bars going across the top of the screen. Power and menu buttons are in an awful place on the rear bottom right of the screen. Makes it difficult to know what button you are pushing. Also, the menu isn't clear on which buttons do what.

Overall Review: I've known Asus to build really good products. I expected better.

Beautiful and Elegant

Fractal Design Define R4 Black Silent ATX Midtower Computer Case
Fractal Design Define R4 Black Silent ATX Midtower Computer Case

Pros: -Filled with fans and HDD's, this case is SUPER quiet! -When putting the system together, I took off the side panel and just couldn't get over how sturdy this side panel was, now picture that throughout the whole case. -Easy to work with. HDDs were easy as pie to install. Was able to install 8 HDD's very quickly. -They give you plenty of extra hardware to fill this case to capacity with components. -Aesthetically pleasing

Cons: -Rather heavy case. Far more heavy once you fill it with hardware. But won't deduct an egg because how sturdy this case is makes up for the weight. -I'm using this case for my home media/file server and didn't want all the bells and whistles and lights of other cases. That being said, the power on LED around the power button is very bright. Some might see this as a pro, but it's a con for me.

Overall Review: -I filled this case up with the same fans that are pre-installed, used some of the resistors to help keep the noise down on some fans, and hooked up other fans to the built in fan controller. Even with all of them and the HDD's, this case is super quiet, not silent, but is very quiet. Would recommend -Once you have all your components inside, don't lift it by yourself if you have back problems like I do, you'll hurt yourself.

Better than onboard!

EVGA GeForce GT 610 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Video Card 01G-P3-2615-KR
EVGA GeForce GT 610 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Video Card 01G-P3-2615-KR

Pros: -Installed in a system with an I3-4370 Intel HD 4600 Graphics (The HD 4600 would display the correct resolution in OS X but had a shuttering/flickering effect going on in any browser, so needed a dedicated graphics card.) -Better than the onboard, but not by much. -Confirmed works with OS X 10.9 out of the box on my hackintosh system, just make sure you switch primary graphics to PCI-E in the BIOS -Installed in an ITX case with a built in 250W PSU and it still works. Although the system is running an SSD w/ no CD drive and the CPU will rarely ramp up to 100% usage

Cons: -None

Overall Review: Great for the price. Once again, this is better than onboard graphics, but not by much. Don't expect to do much, if any, modern gaming. Hackintosh system specs: ASRock H97M-ITX/ac Intel I3 - 4370 8GB G.Skill RAM 850 Evo SSD 250GB

Great speed for the price

Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SV300S37A/120G

Pros: Bought 2 and put into RAID 0. BLAZING fast write speeds. Power button to desktop in 5-7 seconds.

Cons: Read speeds same as a single drive. (46.41 MB/s random) Expected but still a bummer.

Convenient!

Thermaltake BlacX 5G ST0019U ABS Plastic 2.5" & 3.5" Black SATA I/II/III USB 3.0 Docking Station

Pros: Good speeds. Very convenient.

Cons: None

Overall Review: Bought for work because I have to test hard drives quite often. Don't notice a difference in speed between this device and being hooked up internally.
