Pros: Visually pleasing
Colorful, bright RGB lighting
Cons: After a couple of months the keyboard would become unresponsive and the only way to fix it was to unplug it from the computer and plug it back in. Afterwards the caps lock and num lock would work again. That method of fixing it doesn't work any more. Now I have to completely reboot my PC in order for num lock and caps lock to work and it's very annoying. No firmware updates available through the iCue software.
Overall Review: I went into this purchase with high hopes, needing to replace an aging Logitech G510. I may end up going back to the Logitech which still works flawlessly.
What a shame.
Pros: Fast, rock solid...It's Intel!
Cons: None to think of
Overall Review: Loaded Win 8 Pro 64 bit in minutes. Off she went. My lap top loads super fast, in like less than 10 sec. My laptop is a rock star now! Lower power consumption means increased battery life.
Pros: Good value
Plenty of storage space at 16 GB
Cons: I knocked an egg off for the shipping. The shipment started out in New Jersey, went to Orlando, FL, then Jacksonville, FL, then on to Pensacola, FL - which is within 30 miles from me, then back to Jacksonville, FL, then back to Pensacola FL. That is purely unacceptable. Probably not Newegg's fault but I had to vent.
Overall Review: Make sure you're aware of what type of shipping you chose. The 4-7 day shipping could turn out to be longer.
Pros: Solid build
It's huge!! Plenty of room
Lots of fans
Variable speed control for fans located on the back of the case
hot swap SATA drive bays make installing drives easy as 1,2,3.
Cons: None yet
Overall Review: I recommend this case. Just a solid performer in my book.
Pros: Corsair quality
Overall Review: Just an excellent RAM, not much more I can say.
Pros: Intel Quality
Trusted and proven i-series processors
Built to work
An excellent choice for a gaming processor as it rips apart any game currently on the market.
Ivy Bridge = future proof
Cons: Runs a little warm, however, an aftermarket cooling solution or water cooling makes this processor run so much cooler.
The included fan and heat sink is horrible.
Come on Intel, a processor of this magnitude should have a better fan and heat sink!
i5 processors lack Hyperthreading technology like the i7's have but you will never notice the difference unless you multi-task and have tons of open applications running in the background.
Overall Review: I dropped this processor into a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H motherboard with 8 gigs of Corsair ram and away it went. The new HD 4000 graphics are quite an improvement over the HD 2000 and 3000 even though I use a GTX 670 Video card. The HD 4000 graphics are actually able to handle most games on medium settings with acceptable frame rates. Just don't expect it to do too much as it is still integrated graphics. My old AMD Phenom 955 BE processor got WEI rating of 7.3. This i5 3570K gets a 7.6 rating without overclocking. Not bad at all. Benchmarks tell all, as it completely blows away the new AMD FX 8150 Bulldozer chip, or should I say, "faildozer" processor, by a landslide.
Pros: Its a DVD burner
Does it's job they way it was intended.
LG quality -- I still have an LG IDE DVD writer drive that is 3 years old that works flawlessly.
Cons: None that I can think of.
Pros: This is by far the best heat sink grease on the market. Decreases temperatures dramatically. I highly recommend it as I use it for all my builds!
Cons: Bigger tube maybe?
Pros: Aesthetically pleasing, can't go wrong with black and blue color scheme.
Nice big heat sinks on the Z77 chip set and the MOSFET's
Solid build quality, it could double as a small coffee table.
Dual LAN's!! Even though the second LAN port is controlled my the Atheros chip, it's still nice to have two. I prefer to use the primary Intel Lan. Lots of fan headers. XMP profiles are easily changed with a few clicks of the mouse. My memory defaulted to 1333 Mhz even though it was designed to run at 1600. Enabling XMP in the BIOS immediately fixed it and now it's running at the correct rated speed.
Cons: My board shipped with BIOS version f6 which has a problem. After the build, I fired up the computer and was delighted to see that it posted right away, however, when I went to hit Delete to enter the UEFI BIOS, nothing happened and it went on about it's business bypassing the BIOS all together. Immediately I was disappointed in thinking I received a bad bad board. Intuition told me to try another keyboard. So I busted out my old trusty Logitech G15 and Voila! The delete key allowed me access to the BIOS. Upon further research I found that the bios had limited keyboard compatibility. The fix was to update the BIOS to Version F8. After updating the bios and a quick reboot, my Logitech G510 Keyboard finally worked and was able to access the bios.
Overall Review: With a little research and patience, it is an excellent motherboard. Just be sure to update to the latest BIOS which at this time is version F8 on the Gigabyte Driver's page. I'm glad that Gigabyte finally decided to ditch the light blue/white color scheme on their prior motherboards. Black and blue looks epic!
Pros: Good value
easy to install
Does an excellent job keeping an i5 3570k Ivy Bridge processor cool which are known for running hot.
Overall Review: You simply cannot go wrong with this cooler. The radiator is well built and the liquid lines stiff which is a good sign since you don't want to spring any leaks. with a simple change of the bracket you can go from an AMD processor to an Intel. I highly recommend using a high quality heat sink grease such as Arctic Silver instead of the included grease pre-applied to the heat sink.
Pros: Looks nice
Does exactly what it's supposed to do
Overall Review: I have this power supply powering an i5 3570K on a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H with 8 Gigs of 1600 Mhz Corsair RAM and a GTX 670 FTW edition video card. No problems what so ever.
FTW overclocked edition
Completely dominates every single game I have thrown at it. 7.9 WEI rating!
Availability at times
Overall Review: This is hands down the best video card I have ever had the pleasure of owning. I recommend using EVGA Precision X software to really take control of the cards true potential. I see no need to overclock this beast. I use the software to set fan speed curve according to load and temperature. I get a constant 60FPS on every single game I play with all settings set to ultra with temps never exceeding 45 degrees Celsius -- also my fans speed has never gone over 50%. If this card could speak it would laugh at me and say, "Is that all you got for me to do?" Buy the card, you wont be disappointed! I believe this card is bored in my computer. Here's my build.
Intel Core i5 3570K Ivy Bridge
Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 Mhz 8 Gigs
Seasonic 750 Watt modular power supply
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H motherboard
Antec DF-85 Full tower case
EVGA GTX670 FTW edition
LG 24X DVD burner SATA 2
3 - Crucial M4 SATA 3 SSD's 128 Gigabytes each
Corsair H80 Liquid Cooling
Pros: Seems to work well, I haven't noticed any cooling improvements while using it. I have an HP Pavilion dv7 with Cool Sense Technology and it has minimal cooling vents on the bottom. I think it would work better with a laptop with vents on the bottom or the cpu fan intake on the bottom. Has an extra USB port so you don't lose one while hooking it up. Blue light up fan is a waste as you can't see it when the laptop is sitting on it.
Pros: Ok, I'm going to be honest here. This drive makes me smile more than my wife does. I want to take it out of the computer, wipe it off with a rag and put it back in, daily. Walks in the park, candlelight dinners together, just me and my M4 SSD! No, but seriously, this drive is epic in every way. It performs better than Traci Lords back in her prime. WEI 7.9. I'll bet that if windows experience went higher than 7.9 this drive would score higher. If computer components could speak, it would probably complain about its lazy neighbors (CPU and RAM). It's a gun toting, cigar smoking madman with an attitude.
Cons: Heh! Yeah right. The only cons that this thing has is an old beat up pair of Chuck Taylor's that it uses for kicking the hell out of other SSD's.
Overall Review: As you can see, I love my M4. It's single handedly, the best investment I have ever made in a computer and I've been building and working on them for 15 years. Crucial hit a home run with the M4 line.
Pros: Everything about it is a pro. I love it. I don't know about all the other people having problems with not being able to make out the letters with the back lighting. I don't have that problem at all. I bought this to replace an aging G15, which still works as good as the first day I bought it. I gave it to my son for his gaming build. I have full trust in Logitech for as long as they continue to build quality products like this, they have my business.
Cons: None at all. Zip. Zilch. Nada
Pros: I own 5 of these mice. I have one on every desktop an laptop in the house. I continue to buy them because:
1. It's logitech!
2. it's a joy to use. The added weights let's you customize it to your liking.
3. Solid feel and durability. Free scrolling is a plus as well.
4. Braided cable looks sick. Doesn't seem to get stuck as much as a non-braided cable.
5. DEAD ON, accuracy! The laser engine in this thing is near 100% perfect.
6. Interchangeable grips for personal tastes and hand sizes.
Cons: Only 1 con, but it's not enough to dock an egg. The G9X painted logo on the lower face of the mouse has worn off on 3 of mine. The other's are started to do it as well.
Overall Review: Over the years, I have owned MANY mice. None have ever come close in comparison to this one. It will be a truly sad day in my book if Logitech decides to stop making the G9X.
Gaming and geeking out wont be the same.
Pros: This SSD replaced an Intel X-25M SSD for the OS disk. I really didn't know what to expect. As soon as I installed it, then loaded a fresh copy of Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium Edition, I was immediately blown away. My system boots in 11 Seconds--Power on to desktop. The M4 came with firmware 0009 when I bought it. I did some research and discovered that firmware 0009 was causing BSOD's after 5000+ hours of use. Crucial had a fix in no time, firmware version 000F. This is a true testament to Crucial's drive to perfection for their products. Windows experience rated the drive 7.6 under IDE mode and 7.9 under AHCI. I swear by SSD's and will never go back to using a HDD for my OS boot drive ever again! As a matter of fact, I already ordered the 128 GB version for my HP Envy 17 Laptop. Yay!
Cons: Sat for 30 minutes thinking of a con.....Final conclusion, I got nothing!
Overall Review: If your skeptical about taking the SSD plunge due to price vs. capacity, don't be. Even the 128 GB M4 model is priced at around $150.00. That's almost right on par with HDD prices. My 64GB M4 SSD has windows 7, several drivers and applications, and 3 games on it and I still have 21GB free space. YOU WONT REGRET BUYING IT!!!
Pros: Very well packaged
Low power consumption
Cons: Hmmmm....Well, I'm trying to adjust the levels to get them as close to my LG W2252TQ and it's been a challenge. The screen by default is SUPER bright and the contrast is high as well. I guess I'm used to CCFL LCD's as LED's are much brighter and bluer than expected. 2 Day Air Shipping turned into 5 days.
Overall Review: The cons I mentioned are not enough to start knocking off eggs. With some tinkering of the controls a perfect picture is obtainable, it just takes time. Overall I am happy I made this purchase.
Pros: 2 pci-express slots for crossfire
2 of the sata ports are facing up on the motherboard instead of at the edge
nice blue cpu phase lights light up my case inside
sturdy construction, feels like a well made board
Cons: It's not an 890 FX Chipset =(
Overall Review: paired with a 955 BE and 8 gigs of Kingston DDR3 1333 Ram it works flawless.....No complaints here! If you looking for a great, affordable board look no further than the 870A-G54. mid 7's rating for WEI.
