Reliable and suitable for most home users

Linksys WRT32X AC3200 Dual-band Gaming Router
Linksys WRT32X AC3200 Dual-band Gaming Router

Pros: First of all this "gaming" version of the AC3200 is actually CHEAPER than the normal version as of this writing. The router is really easy to setup and offers most features that the average gamer needs. I personally like the fact that it can be reset remotely, has easy VPN accessibility, and offers multiple DNS options. The 5ghz wifi is strong as well.

Cons: No custom firmware available, doesn't have as many options as earlier Linksys offerings.

You get what you pay for...

Acer GN246HL 24" Full HD 1920 x 1080 144Hz 1ms DVI HDMI VGA Immersive 3D Backlit LED Gaming Monitor
Acer GN246HL 24" Full HD 1920 x 1080 144Hz 1ms DVI HDMI VGA Immersive 3D Backlit LED Gaming Monitor

Pros: Good picture quality.

Cons: My monitor came with a small crack in the bezel out of the box. Not a big deal but seeing this straight out of the box was disappointing. And the default settings are terrible, way too bright.

Works as intended

APC 11-Outlet Surge Protector Power Strip with USB Charging Ports, 2880 Joules, SurgeArrest Home/Office (P11U2)
APC 11-Outlet Surge Protector Power Strip with USB Charging Ports, 2880 Joules, SurgeArrest Home/Office (P11U2)

Overall Review: Bought this after I experienced a lightning strike near my home which killed my modem. I have quite a few things plugged into this surge protector and believe it has already paid off after experiencing several brownouts and another lightning strike. It lights up when it detects a surge which is a nice feature. It also has several USB ports. No issues so far!

Fantastic price to performance ratio

AMD Ryzen 5 1st Gen - RYZEN 5 1600 Summit Ridge (Zen) 6-Core 3.2 GHz (3.6 GHz Turbo) Socket AM4 65W YD1600BBAEBOX Desktop Processor
AMD Ryzen 5 1st Gen - RYZEN 5 1600 Summit Ridge (Zen) 6-Core 3.2 GHz (3.6 GHz Turbo) Socket AM4 65W YD1600BBAEBOX Desktop Processor

Pros: I've been loyal to AMD since I began building my own PCs in 2005 because they offer a great value for the price you pay compared to the Intel CPUs. This CPU has been no exception, solid as always. I overclocked mine to 3.5ghz and with the stock cooler it works great.

Cons: None

Solid video card for modern games

MSI GeForce GTX 1070 8GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support ATX Video Card GTX 1070 ARMOR 8G OC
MSI GeForce GTX 1070 8GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support ATX Video Card GTX 1070 ARMOR 8G OC

Pros: Card runs very cool, always under 60ºC, keeps fast paced games such as Quake Champions and Overwatch at over 120 fps consistently on medium settings when paired with my AMD Ryzen5 1600. Nvidia drivers work well and I make good use of Nvidia Shadowplay to record videos with no lag issues in game.

Cons: None

Poorly designed board

ASRock AB350 Pro4 AM4 AMD Promontory B350 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
ASRock AB350 Pro4 AM4 AMD Promontory B350 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Worked ok for a little bit I guess.

Cons: BIOS on this board is barely functional. This board absolutely refused to detect my boot drive at times regardless of the port it was in and I would often not be able to use my PC. But after the PC had been off for a few hours it would magically work again...I have no logical reason to give, perhaps the CMOS battery was bad, I'm not quite sure. But shutting off my PC meant I couldn't use it for at least a few hours, if not several days! All because the board refused to detect my boot drive. I saw people on reddit praising these AB350 boards including this one and trashing X470 boards for reasons beyond me, well I swapped this board out for an ASUS X470 board and that has been perfect. Redditors obviously don't know what they're talking about, this AB350 board is garbage.

Overall Review: This was my first experience with ASRock and my last as well if this is what I can expect from them.
