Overall Review: I love the overall build of the monitor, and its stock mount is both easy to use, secure, and makes it easier to keep my work area clean. I've also had a pleasant experience with the monitor overall since working out some initial kinks. However, I did run into some trouble initially getting the monitor to run at 144 hz with an Nvidia card. The issue was easily resolved (if you run in to the same problem, use Windows' display tab to adjust your refresh rate, not Nvidia's GeForce Control Panel) but it was a bit puzzling at first.

Pros: Most of the hardware is solid, and the default power settings are actually solid: if I run in Power Saver mode, I can get five or six hours of unplugged use out of the system (with a noticeable drop in performance), and if I run on High Performance mode there's no noticeable drop, and the battery still has an impressive lifespan. It's also a nice, light machine, easily transportable, and surprisingly durable (usually - I've encountered some issues that proved this machine to be EXTREMELY moisture sensitive). As a portable screen for watching TV or browsing the web, this is a solid machine.

Cons: Unfortunately I've had some terrible experiences with most of the attached input devices. I had issues with the keyboard losing keystrokes from day one, with about one in every fifteen keystrokes missing - I think it might be an issue with the design of the membrane under the keys themselves, since certain keys are more sensitive than others. I thought it might've just been an issue with the particular machine I received, but when I sent it in for repairs (thanks to the event that taught me just how sensitive this machine was to water - I spilled a few drops of water on the screen, didn't clean it completely, and found that large sections of the keyboard had failed the next day) I received a repaired product with identical issues to the ones I first encountered. Since I use this computer for work, and I type constantly for work, this is a HUGE problem - tasks that should take an hour or two end up taking three or four as I find myself constantly reviewing for missed keystrokes. I can use an external keyboard to address the issue, but that makes using the computer as a mobile office platform untenable. I've also recently had major issues with the touchpad. After about four months of trouble-free pointing, the touchpad started failing about a minute into each boot. I corrected the issue by uninstalling ASUS' "SmartTouch" software, and it seems to be working again, but this is definitely a concern for novice users. Paired with the keyboard issues I've experienced, establishes a pattern of unreliable input devices that make me regret this purchase.

Overall Review: If you're looking for a light desktop replacement that you can use with an external keyboard and mouse, this is a great machine. All of the under-the-hood hardware bits work fine, and I've been able to run some fairly demanding games on this machine without issue (when it's in Performance mode, of course). But if you're looking for a machine that you can reliably use on the go, or a laptop that you can just sit down and type with wherever, I would not recommend this machine.
