Sturdy design, super quiet, triple fan design
Overall Review: I got lucky and was able to purchase this card in a bundle outside the Shuffle. While I could have gotten a cheaper bundle with a dual fan 6600xt, I opted for the triple fan because I know AMD GPUs run hot. While many say a triple fan for a 160w TDP card is overkill, it certainly isn't if you value quiet. And quiet is the best word to use to describe this card. I use a small form factor ITX computer sitting on my desk and I literally cannot hear the fans spin at all. But there's a big asterisk (*) - the reason I deducted an egg is because I believe the fan curve on this card is too conservative. With stock settings, the card junction temperature hits 103 degrees but the fans are only at 30% speed. While technically the junction temp is within acceptable range under 110 degrees, GPUs last longer when kept cooler and boost clocks are able to go a bit higher. I used the built-in AMD control center to manually set the fan curve. I can get the junction temp under 90 by upping the fans to 50%. While they do become audible, it seems like a decent trade off for increasing hardware lifespan and slightly better performance. Lastly, this card supports dual BIOS but as of this review there are no additional BIOS from XFX. I'd like to see a "cool" BIOS option like they have for the 6800xt.
Pros: -very nice resolution -extremely crisp image makes gaming graphics even more amazing
Cons: -impossible to properly calibrate (see my comments below) -front panel buttons are not easy to use
Overall Review: I bought this monitor after seeing it's one of the highest rated monitors on Newegg. Unfortunately it is impossible to calibrate to be comfortable on your eyes. Out of the box, its color saturation and gamma are enough to burn a hole in your cornea. After adjusting the settings using a color calibration tool, I was able to comfortably view the windows desktop, do web browsing, and watch videos. However once I launched a game (Dragon Age II), I noticed everything was very dark and drained of color. After some googling, I found it's because the color profile on the monitor wasn't set to sRGB, which is the most accurate for a computer display. Now the colors look perfect...except now bright colors are way too bright. It's like the white saturation is too high...the darker areas look great but white objects give me a headache...what's worse is that adjusting brightness is DISABLED when using sRGB color scheme. I wish I could return this monitor but I already threw away the box :(
Pros: Everything about this motherboard is great. It has 2 separate SATA controllers (which means extra bandwidth using multiple hard drives), the onboard network and audio is unusually good, and it's just got a whole lot of little features that you don't usually get.
Cons: Not a single one...other than the poor PCI-E layout if you're using multiple GPUs, which I'm not
Overall Review: I usually go for the mid-range motherboards and this is the first "top of the line" one I've gone with...you don't know what you're missing until you get this motherboard. I wish I could be more specific but it's just all sorts of little things. For example if you need to clear your BIOS, there's an actual button you simply push on the motherboard (no more do you have to move the hard-to-grasp jumpers!). Another example is the built-in recovery software to re-image your hard drive...straight from the BIOS! It's also got 2 network ports that can be merged into one so you have double the bandwidth from your computer to the router (only if your router supports it though). Just little things that make life a little easier or are just fun to mess with. Best motherboard I've ever bought...period!
Pros: -Good range -Great volume
Cons: -Poor bass -Annoying sound when you first turn on
Overall Review: These speakers are a great value and very decent for the price. Unfortunately the bass is still lacking but that's expected given there's no subwoofer. The only other slightly annoying things is the high pitched whine that occurs when you first turn the speakers on. Lasts half a second but annoys me. Neither con is worth taking away an egg though. Definitely worth the purchase!
Pros: -stunning audio quality -extremely comfortable (to the point of invisible) -only mic I've found that doesn't sound "tinny" -surprisingly durable...I can't count the number of times I've dropped these things...
Cons: -very thin cord...if you're like me, you'll probably need to replace this headset every 3-4 years like I've been doing because I've rolled over the cord so many times with my chair
Overall Review: Overall this is a solid, great sounding headset. Just a note: when you first get these, the earpad's padding will be pretty tough...however it WILL get softer and then it will be insanely comfortable...same thing goes for the sound quality, it takes time to break in
