RMAed one of 510/7/2009 10:15:41 PM

Pros: Ordered 5 of these drive. Ran cool and quietly after installation. No difficulty with formatting and recognized by OS as a data drive F: (Vista 64).

Cons: This drive started clicking shortly after installation. Then began failing (was not recognized by OS). RMAed to Newegg for replacement. Thank you Newegg for the flawless service. The other 4 are fine so far.

Overall Review: Nice drives when they work. So far the track record is 80%.

Problem Fix5/23/2009 11:00:20 PM

Pros: This is a great HD. However, there have been some issues. I installed it on my new build below and it frequently was not recognized when the system came up out of sleep mode (S3). All the diagnostics on the disk checked out OK. I had to reboot or reenter sleep and rewake the computer to see the drive and my data. Called WD and they said that the driver was a problem. Checked Vista Device Manager which reported that the driver was OK. Then checked Control Panel "Problem Reports & Solutions" which found 3 problems needing drivers. Downloaded and installed 1)Intel chipset ICH10 SMBus Controller; 2)Intel QuickPath Architecture I/O Hub; & 3)ASUSTeK driver. After reboot the drive works perfectly. Hope this is of some help.

Cons: Needed to find the correct drive so that the system would find this drive when it wakes up from sleep mode

It Works5/12/2009 7:26:33 PM

Pros: This drive requires the installation of a Blu-ray software player to play BD disks. It will read and write regular CDs and DVD's. I will give it 4 eggs because the price was right. It is not a BD burner.

Cons: The enclosed software (Power DVD) will require an update (no charge) to work. The drive also needs to download an update to the firmware to run. After all this it does play BD. It is a bit of a hassle

Overall Review: It would be nice if the drive and enclosed software were up to date and ready to run. I believe that copy protection schemes are the reason for the updates

Fabulous MB5/4/2009 8:05:50 PM

Pros: This is a great motherboard for the Intel Core i 7 processor. It has all of the features you will need. 14 USB ports, 6+2 SATA ports, etc. Read the manual, it is very comprehensive and well written. I recommend you set it up on a bench outside the case. Set it on an anti static surface to install the processor, heatsink/fan and the first 2 sticks of memory, keyboard, mouse, graphics card, power supply connectors (both of them!) and connect the monitor to the graphics port. Check all connections. Remove the antistatic mat and place the motherboard on blocks or other non-conductive surface. Boot to the Bios. Check the settings and memory test/display. Turn it off and add the remainder of your memory sticks in stages. Refer to the manual to confirm the order of populating the memory slots. I had no trouble with installing the 12 GB of G. Skill DDR3 1600. The board runs perfectly with this memory on the default settings. If you want to tweak it (OC) do it later.

Cons: None.

Reliable5/4/2009 7:56:43 PM

Pros: Reliable and efficient. Easy to OC on Asus P6T mb. I did not see the benefit of the faster Core I 7 processors. The stock heatsink/fan is fine if you are not overclocking. Quiet and runs reasonably cool, 37 to 45 C in standard mode.

Cons: none, except you need a good mb. I would recommend the Asus.

Wonderful5/4/2009 7:53:31 PM

Pros: Installed in my new build. It is worth registering this card for the additional benefits. Downloads new drivers automatically.

Cons: Expensive, however, price should be coming down. The card is large, 10.5" long and takes 2 slots. In the Asus P6T V2 motherboard, it blocks the second PCI slot. You need a larger case to fit this card in comfortably. I recommend the Antec P 183. Also, you power supply should be at least 750 W and a good quality build.

Great Fan5/4/2009 7:49:21 PM

Pros: Purchased as optional extra fan with my new build, and Antec P 183 case. Fan is quiet and efficient. Has reostate to adjust speed, which I leave at moderately low. Positioned to provide extra cooling to the EVGA 285 graphics card.

Cons: none.

Pros: Great drive. Used in my new build for the data drive. Quite and reasonably priced. I purchased two, one as a primary installed data drive and the second as an external backup used in a docking station. Shipped in 3 days. Thank you, Newegg. Great job.

Fast and Quiet5/4/2009 7:42:52 PM

Pros: I use this drive as my primary boot drive on the new system I just build. I use a WD Cavier Black 1 T for the data drive. The system is very fast and quiet. I would definitely recommend these drives. I plan to purchase these drives for my next build.

Cons: This drive is a bit more expensive per GB, but worth it for the improved performance.

Pros: Installed 12 GB on my new build (see below). No problems. I was very pleased with this memory. Love the new computer. Fast!!

Cons: Be sure that you MB supports this memory. The Asus P6T deluxe V2 is a great choice.

Suprise!5/4/2009 3:51:26 PM

Pros: Installed on my new build. Sweet. Runs all my programs. Fast, very attractive interface, seems bullet proof. No crashes yet! Easy transition from XP. Able to access 12 GB. Much better than XP.

Cons: You will need 64 bit software like the upcoming Windows Office release, to take full advantage of the expanded memory

Love it.5/4/2009 3:47:06 PM

Pros: Powerful, perfect fit for Antec p183 case. This PS is larger than ATX size and is specifically made for 3 Antec cases including the P183. It has everything you need, plenty of power, very quite, modular cables with sufficient length, very efficient and well made

Cons: Not suitable for an ATX size case. It is much larger than the standard ps.

Overall Review: Make sure that you do not have a lot of other electrical demand on this circuit. Draws up to 13 Amps! at full power.
