Its ok... But not for gaming6/11/2015 3:43:24 PM

Pros: Well made, looks solid, good control via both buttons & Hot key. Easy to reassign hot key assignment

Cons: Its not very good for gaming at all. The speed that the unit tracks mouse movement is very slow. I have my general desktop rig that I use for programming and its fine for that. When I switch to my gaming rig, it seems slow and then about 10 minutes into a game it will just lose either the mouse or the keyboard entirely. I can get them back by unplugging and re-plugging them back in, but that's not a solution long term.

Overall Review: Its ok, as long as you don't expect use your keyboard & mouse for gaming. Other KVMs that I've had will work ok for that, but unfortunately their build quality was so bad that they died prematurely. So I'll just use this for my normal computing but not for gaming.

Manufacturer Response:
Dear Myles, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about the latency issue you are experiencing, and we would like to offer some assistance. Are you able to reproduce the same behavior on all ports? That is, have you tried connecting the gaming computer to a different port on the KVM switch? If you have not done so already, we would suggest swapping the USB cables between the two computers, and seeing if the issue is following a specific port or a specific cable. Are you also able to try a different model of keyboard and/or mouse to see if the issue still occurs? For issues with the keyboard, you can adjust the typematic rate in your operating system’s settings. Depending on the version of Windows you are running, you can adjust the typematic rate by doing one of the following: o Click Control Panel > Keyboard > Speed. Adjust the repeat delay and repeat rate. o Click Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers. Right-click Keyboard Settings. Adjust the repeat delay and repeat rate. For issues with the mouse, you can open Control Panel > Mouse > Change Mouse Settings, and click on the pointer options tab. Adjust the cursor speed as needed, and ensure Enhance Pointer Precision and Display Pointer trails are disabled. We hope this has been helpful.
