Great for the $$$

Rosewill RC-702 - 7.1-Channel Sound Card with 16-Bit, 96 KHz PCI-Interface
Rosewill RC-702 - 7.1-Channel Sound Card with 16-Bit, 96 KHz PCI-Interface

Pros: Not horrible. You're spending 20 bucks. If sound isn't that important, or if you're trying to curb dollars, it's a pretty good option.

Cons: I'm sure if you spend more money, you'll get a better sound quality. Obviously. I can't really think of anything that stands out as a huge con, though.

EVGA 03G-P3-1594-KR GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) Classified 3GB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Pros: The card itself is high end, and when it works, it can run any modern video game title I throw at it on full settings.

Cons: When it works. The video card crashes for me whenever I play a graphic intensive game. It gives me a driver error. I thought it was the cooling in my case, so I bought a top of the line case and re-did the internal wiring as to not restrict air flow. While heat may be the cause of this glitch, the case did not solve it entirely (although, it made the crashes much less frequent). I bought this on New Egg's iron return policy, so I'm going to return it and get a better card (along with a better heatsink :):):). I think my card was just a lemon, but I wouldn't take any chances -- not to mention that there's better video cards out there, even at a premium.

Horrible Product -- STAY AWAY, DO NOT BUY ASUS.

Pros: It looks pretty!

Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE.

Overall Review: I bought my first edition of this board from Jeff Bezos, had everything installed nicely, started it up and it began my nightmare, "A2" error. Called ASUS tech support and spoke to a wonderful Indian gentleman who informed me that the motherboard must be defective, and they would be happy to RMA it and fix it and give it back or replace it entirely. As I was under Bezos's wonderful warranty program, I replaced it for a new board. I set it up, and, again, the "A2" error on the second board. At this time, I gave it to a local tech shop and they, too, could not figure out WHAT was wrong with the setup. Returned the second board, as well as the CPU, Memory (which is on the QVL), and the M2 (which is also on the QVL). Got entirely different CPU, same memory, same M2. Installed everything a 3rd time. GUESS WHAT? A2 Error. I am beyond frustrated at this point, and this will be the last PC I ever build (after 20+ years of building them, I've had enough). Just got off the phone with another wonderful Indian gentleman who informed me there are no American tech support agents, because I couldn't understand WHAT he was saying 9 times out of 10 -- just what you want to hear when you spend OVER SEVEN HUNDRED EFFIN DOLLARS ON A EFFIN MOTHERBOARD. This is the last ASUS product I ever buy. I can't wait til Corsair starts making high end motherboards and wipes the floor with these losers. Horrible product, horrible experience, NEVER BUY ASUS.
