OC'er Dream

Intel Core i7-940 - Core i7 Bloomfield Quad-Core 2.93 GHz LGA 1366 130W Desktop Processor - BX80601940
Intel Core i7-940 - Core i7 Bloomfield Quad-Core 2.93 GHz LGA 1366 130W Desktop Processor - BX80601940

Pros: Have this i7 running at 4Ghz for a 2.93 that aint bad. Water cooling makes it in the 50C range. Started with it on air with the intel fan and it was more like 80C+. So, if your going to OC this get some water. 4 cores rock so get some SSD instead of hard dives.

Cons: None

Windows

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit for System Builders
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit for System Builders

Pros: It's Microsoft Vista 64. No problems getting drivers.

Cons: It's Microsoft Vista 64. Please hold for the next security update cause we just can't seem to get it under control. Still lots of gaming bugs. All the visuals just slow it down in gaming so I turned them all off so it looks like XP Pro Classic. Almost time for Windows 7 and I've had this less than 6 months, want to bet I get a great big discount when I upgrade to 7. <:-}

Fast, Very fast

G.SKILL 2.5" 64GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) FM-25S2S-64GB

Pros: Fast, fast, fast. No heat or moving parts and very small

Cons: You will have to do your homework when setting up any SSD, the OTZ site was great for getting basic setup up and running. I get kicked at startup sometimes when playing online because they load so fast the server can't keep up...if thats a con I can live with it

i7 LGA1366 adapter

Thermaltake CL-W0075 Liquid Cooling System
Thermaltake CL-W0075 Liquid Cooling System

Pros: for two months it has set in the box

Cons: After getting this kit I e-mailed thermaltake about an adapter for i7 and they were working on it and would be done end of Jan. E-mailed again in Feb and they had it completed. Then the problem begain when I ordered it and they locked my credit card funds with a "pending" this went on for 6 days and several e-mails until I got them to canx order. I hope that newegg will add the adapter to their list because I suggest no one try to deal with Thermaltake on their own. (note to Thermaltake) if someone buys your product and you design a new bracket for a new CPU just send them the the thing it just might buy you some needed goodwill.

Overall Review: part is $12.99 plus and this is a big PLUS $10.13 shipping and handling (the cheapest) for two small flat "H" metal brackets. Think I'll just make my own and then I can see if the kit leaks as bad as some say.
