Gamer Critic Movie Critic - THE Review

Hanns-G HL272HPB 27" 1920 x 1080 D-Sub, DVI, HDMI Built-in Speakers LCD Monitor
Hanns-G HL272HPB 27" 1920 x 1080 D-Sub, DVI, HDMI Built-in Speakers LCD Monitor

Pros: First, I am an extreme technophile. I have literally waited over a year just to play a game at a constant 60fps with no stuttering, no tearing, no ghosting, no mouse lag, etc. I want to play games at their absolute highest capacity. I purchased this for $199 during the black friday sale. For the last 3 weeks I have been reading reviews, watching youtube comparisons, and downloading manuals comparing every LED spec type monitor I possibly could. From the Asus to the Dell IPS from 60hz to 120hz to 3D to LED edge lit to LED backlit to 1ms to 5ms...everything. Upgrading from the still excellent Samsung 226BW (with the elusive 's' panel) I was understandably sceptical of whether this lesser brand would have the response time without the side effect of ghosting that my Samsung had. I also had concerns about brightness and contrast. I finally pulled the trigger!!!! And I am amazed and extremely satisfied above being shocked! 1. Response Time - The response time is actually slighly better than my Samsung. I tested this using a full spec'd gaming rig so that the frame rate was constant 60fps. Using a Logitech G700 mouse on a Razer hard surface gaming pad to ensure smooth traction of the mouse. Moving the mouse from left to right with my crosshair (COD Black Ops II) in multiplayer using fences, building sides, and grass patches as a point of reference I noticed a definite improvement in response time without any sideffect of ghosting whatsoever. I performed this text robotically for quite a while to be thorough. The response time is perfect. (set to maxium in OSC settings for 2ms) 2. Picture Quality - I started out my LCD journet back in 2008 I believe with the first 2ms Asus model (221mgs or something). It was dim and had ghosting so moved to the Samsung 226BW. Not only was the ghosting gone but the brightness and contract between the two was worlds apart as if using currently existing tech vs future tech. I experienced this same phenomenon with the Hanns-G. Even with my Vizio Razr 26" LED TV this monitor was leaps and bounds sharper and brighter. It is absolutely crisp. Using paintbrush I created a solid black picture and viewed it in full screen mode. By doing this I was able to test the entire screen for true black color. I used this method against powering the monitor off and then back on with the black picture in full screen. You can barely notice the difference between the monitor being off and the monitor being on displaying a solid black picture. Next I played 1080p video of the sci-fi series "Fringe" known for having an overall Fox drama 'black' theme to it. The blacks where BLACK. Nice rich dark BLACK. The picture had that real crisp true 1080p look without the washout or blur. It was very good is what im trying to say) 3. Build Quality - Well my Samsung was built like a tank due to it being an LCD vs an LED so I cant compare the two. However, I require a sturdy frame as I use my monitor for graphics/photography prev

Cons: Sound is so 'bad' it literally seems 'broken'. See above.

Overall Review: $199 yes!

Accurate speeds

Mushkin Enhanced Ventura Plus 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model MKNUFDVS64GB
Mushkin Enhanced Ventura Plus 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model MKNUFDVS64GB

Pros: Accurate Speeds Very small in width and length Can fit other devices in parallel ports

Cons: None

Overall Review: I do not do the fancy performance suite test. I used the Windows copy file from this location to this location and watch the transfer speed. NOTE: The advertised speeds are the sequential xfer rates of uncompressed unzipped data for a single file. With my tests this advertised speed is verified. 6gb ISO game file from Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD main drive to Muskin 64gb ~90MB/S 6GB ISO game file from Muskin 64GB to Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD main drive ~190MB/S 1.5gb ISO game file from Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD main drive to Muskin 64gb ~95MB/S 1.5GB ISO game file from Muskin 64GB to Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD main drive ~190MB/S Extremely happy I finally pulled the trigger after debating with myself for 8 months! The size of the drive is awesome as it does not block any ports next to it. It is also a very short drive so it does not extend away form the pc very far. Overall a GREAT drive. Very impressed.

BETTER than you would think. Trust me!

Patriot Viper 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model PVS24G6400LLK
Patriot Viper 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model PVS24G6400LLK

Pros: Easily overclocks to 1066mhz at ~ 5-5-5-12-2T timings. I maxed out around 1120mhz. They can go higher im sure but I dont want to overvolt them. You will have to make a list of possible timings combinations to find the right way to make them overclock. Use ALL the timings not just the usual x-x-x-x-2t Be patient.

Cons: I dont NEED them anymore and just put em up on eb*y. If you want a deal check em out!

Overall Review: Im a very experienced computer tweaker who is selective compulsive (different than OCD) so my test are thourough if not borderline rediculous.
