Great Board

Intel BOXDX79SI LGA 2011 Intel X79 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Intel BOXDX79SI LGA 2011 Intel X79 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Great Intel board. After install, updated the BIOS to newest release and I have had no problems. Board seems to be very solid. I am not into oc'd but I did take my 3930K to 4.0 w/out any effort.

Cons: None so far.

Overall Review: I did get this board for $80.00 less on special from another place. I don't understand people knocking a board because the card slots are too close etc. If you don't like the features, buy another board. Don't rate an item down for specs you knew about before buying. If running SLI/ Crossfire, slots are next to each other, but so are the slots on other boards. The same with the number of SATA or USB connections. There aren't as many SATA connections as some boards, but would it make sense for Intel to put someone elses SATA contoller on their board to increase the number? Either do your homework before buying, or don't buy.

Maybe okay.

Acer HN274Hbmiiid Black 27" Full HD HDMI WideScreen LED 120Hz 3D Monitor 300 cd/m2 ACM 10,000,000:1 w/Speakers & 3D glasses
Acer HN274Hbmiiid Black 27" Full HD HDMI WideScreen LED 120Hz 3D Monitor 300 cd/m2 ACM 10,000,000:1 w/Speakers & 3D glasses

Pros: My standard monitors are DELL 24" Ultrasharps, and that is what my comparison is based on. First the Acer can be nice and sharp and the letters are crisp, But this was after hours.. and I mean hours of messing with settings (see below). It also does not approach the picture quality of the DELL monitors. I also have an Asus 22" and the Acer does however smoke the Asus for color and clarity. The 3D is pretty amazing and it does add a new dimension to gaming. I briefly tried Dead Rising 2, Just Cause 2 and Borderlands and they were all pretty awesome. It did bother my eyes after a while, but that seemed to be the glasses and not the monitor. My son used it with the above games and he really enjoyed it without the eyestrain I had. The same games did look great in 2D also. For info its hooked to a GTX580 with no visble lag in 3D.

Cons: 3 eggs for the backlighting, viewing angle and height adjustment. Again, compared to the DELL Ultrasharps the Acer in these areas is subpar. This monitor also had me cursing for hours, trying to set it up to display colors and brightness properly. As others have said by default it is set very bright for 3D gaming purposes. Everytime I get it adjusted and reboot it looses my display settings and goes all the way to bright. I messed with Nvidia, Windows 7 and Acer control panels for days and finally have it staying on my selected settings at least for the last couple of reboots now. This is probably some kind of driver thing, but VERY annoying. It is my understanding it should default to highest settings during a 3D game and revert back to user settings automatically after the game is exited?

Overall Review: For primarily a 3D gaming monitor I think this seems to be pretty good. I am not sure however on programs like Photoshop, because of the issue of defaulting to the brightest setting everytime I reboot. I am sure this is some kind of driver issue, it doesn't make sense to have a monitor you can't keep user adjusted settings on. (By the way it resets itself to full brigthness wether 3D is turned on or off.) For a gaming monitor I will recommend this, but for others programs like photo editing I am a little undecided and will probably stick with my DELL's.

Awesome case!

MONTECH KING 65 PRO ATX Mid Tower Gaming PC Case, Dual Chamber, High Airflow Mesh Panels, Supports RTX 40 Series, 3 Pre-Installed ARGB Fans, Tool-Free Access - White
MONTECH KING 65 PRO ATX Mid Tower Gaming PC Case, Dual Chamber, High Airflow Mesh Panels, Supports RTX 40 Series, 3 Pre-Installed ARGB Fans, Tool-Free Access - White

Pros: What an incredible case. Plenty of room to build, great cable management, and very high quality. I have been building systems for about 20 years, and I actually have a closet full of empty cases, but this has to be my new favorite case. I am one of those people who is not into all the RGB lighting, but this case changed my mind. The white case with the RGB switch to white lights looks incredible. My main cooling solution is a 360 top-mounted radiator, for which there was plenty of room to mount. I also mounted three 120 mm fans as intake on the bottom and used the provided 140mm fans as side-mounted intake fans, and the thermals are great. Depending on how you want to configure your fans, there are plenty of mounting options. For the price, excellent build quality and aesthetics, this case can't be beat. I also want to compliment MONTECH customer service, which is top-notch! Unfortunately, about a month after building my system, I was upgrading some hardware, and I knocked the front panel off the table onto the hard tile floor, and it broke. I emailed MONTECH customer asking if I could purchase a front replacement panel. That same day, I received a reply asking a few simple questions, and about three weeks later, I received a replacement panel at no charge. They stand by their products, and for that reason alone, any of their products is worth purchasing. Kudos to you, MONTECH!

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Excellent build quality, features, and price. I highly recommend this case to anyone looking for a case in this style. It makes for an awesome clean build.

Nice Card

MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti GAMING 6G
MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti GAMING 6G

Pros: Nice looking card, already comes with a back plate. Does run quiet. Upgraded from a GTX690 with the following scores on 3DMARK Fire Strike Extreme 4k setting: GTX 690- Overall score 1001, Graphics 827, Combined 1220. GTX980Ti- Overall score 4343, Graphics 4259, Combined 2238. This card pretty much smoked the 690.

Cons: MSI- Why is this the only card that currently does not offer a free game like all the rest. How stupid is that? For being the most pricey you could have at least offered the same promotion with this card.

Overall Review: Needless to say this thing does dump the heat in your case, will use it to heat my 14' x 14' gaming room this winter.

Junk!

Coboc CL-DP-HBR2-6-BK 6ft 28AWG Displayport1.2 High Bit-Rate 2 DisplayPort Male to Male Cable with latching,Gold Plated,Black - 4K x 2K Ready - Eyefinity Support

Pros: None

Cons: Hooked up cable and no signal to the monitor. Tried different ports on the video card and monitor, still no signal. Tried another cable and everything works fine. Apparently I got a bad cable.

Overall Review: I guess buying these is like going to a casino, its the roll of the dice if you get a good one or bad one.
