great sound for zero cost10/22/2013 12:48:33 PM

Pros: The ever generous egg threw this in with something else I ordered...yes, for free. So my very low expectations were exceeded. You know when you're traveling and watching a movie on your laptop and you can't hear or it sounds flat? Plug this baby in. Still don't know how they get such great sound out of a cheap (free) little thingy. But they do.

Cons: If you carry it boombox style on your shoulder, people will laugh. But then they will hear that rumbly bass from nowhere and start wearing their pants so low their boxers hang out, following you around.

Wife types a lot...LOVES it10/22/2013 12:43:07 PM

Pros: Wife uses it for business. She types a lot. She didn't understand the difference a mechanical keyboard can make. After 5 minutes of use, that changed! She loves it now. Catch it on a deal if you type a lot.

Cons: none

Price for Performance, Best Tablet Value, blows ipad away10/22/2013 12:40:55 PM

Pros: Great tablet. 270 bones. Better than an Ipad at half the price. Beats the Nexus thanks to a plethora of ports missing from the Nexus. Added the keyboard dock for 50 bones from a big retailer who claims their Buy is the Bestest. Asus stays very up to date with Android. Fast, responsive. Most bang for the buck in tablet-land hands down. MicroSD card slot - check. HDMI - check. USB port (with the keyboard dock) - check. Full SD card slot (with the keyboard dock) - check. Blows away the ipad and Google offerings at a fraction of the price. Get it. Then get the keyboard dock. You may find yourself not using your laptop much anymore. GPS. Good cameras also. Battery lasts a long time, solid 8 hours. Add the keyboard dock and you're good for a couple of days. Got the 16gb version for the wife and she loves it, too.

Cons: Doesn't come with keyboard dock. Find one cheap somewhere. Your laptop will get lonely.

Overall Review: Did I mention you should get the keyboard dock?

Great shaver on sale10/22/2013 12:36:40 PM

Pros: Never had a shaver before. Coming from a razer, this is great for me. Gets it smooth in about 2 minutes or so. For 18 bones, YES. Using the original blades for 10 months now, every other day. Still cuts great.

Cons: Batteries aren't replaceable. Don't know if this is common in shavers or not. Not really a con.

Wife loves it. GREAT!10/22/2013 12:32:47 PM

Pros: Great tablet. 250 bones. Better than an Ipad at half the price. Added the keyboard dock for 50 bones from a big retailer who claims their Buy is the Bestest. Asus stays very up to date with Android. Fast, responsive. Wife uses it with Skype. Used it in the hospital to show our newborn to relatives overseas. Most bang for the buck in tablet-land hands down. MicroSD card slot - check. HDMI - check. USB port (with the keyboard dock) - check. Full SD card slot (with the keyboard dock) - check. Can't go wrong with GSkill10/22/2013 12:22:54 PM

Pros: Use in my Asus tf300t tablet and Canon DSLR with no problems. Works with Transcend card reader. Good price, better value.

Cons: It's small. Don't lose it.

1-2 for you and 1-2 for friends10/22/2013 12:20:44 PM

Pros: Many colors. Charges stuff. 1 or 2 for you and 1 or 2 to give to friends. Super cheap, yet works. 2 pros in my world.

Cons: Can't juggle them. But I can't juggle anything. Too bad.

Good cable; cheap, works10/22/2013 12:18:54 PM

Pros: It's a USB cable. It's cheap. It works. What else you want?

Cons: I put it in a basket and try to do a snake charmer routine, it refuses to rise up out of the basket. But I'm also not playing a real pungi, just an air pungi. Maybe someone with a real pungi can try and post results?

amazing for the price10/22/2013 12:08:25 PM

Pros: Got for my wife who uses laptop for work more than multi-screen desktop. Works awesome for adding a screen for her work. Movies look great on it, too. Still can't believe this monitor works so well for so cheap via a USB port. Like Star Trek, only real. Can't beat it for the price.

Cons: Cons? 70 bones and free shipping? You got to be kidding!

Overall Review: I'll second what another reviewer said, add this to your order for easy connecting, you'll be glad you did: StarTech USB2HABM3RA 3 ft. Mini USB Cable - A to Right Angle Mini B M-M

Pros: Good cable. Got to go with AOC e1649Fwu USB monitor per a another reviewer's recommendation. Works great for this purpose.

Cons: Doesn't sing classic rock karaoke to me. Oh wait, that's not a con.

Outside 4 months...going strong10/22/2013 10:53:43 AM

Pros: Cheap on sale with rebate. Ten bones. Have a set hanging outside for 4 months now in full exposure to weather. Easy to mount, or just dangle. Works either way. Even on a cloudy day, lights up bright for a solid 4-5 hours after dark. Sturdy, not cheap.

Cons: Rebate a little slow, but came though in the end, so all's well.

Overall Review: Don't forget to send that rebate in...Do it NOW. You know you don't want to pay full retail on this.

On all the time; works great10/22/2013 10:48:51 AM

Pros: Packaged well. Formatted, then hooked up to of these to USB ports on Asus RT-AC66U. Works great with the router for cheap NAS. On 24/7 for 7 months and all is well.

Cons: I ask it things like, "What are tomorrow's winning lotto numbers?" and it refuses to answer. Stop holding out on me! SHARE THE DATA!

Overall Review: When the price is right, grab 1 or a few of these. Easy to make these into internal SATA drives also.

Best Router You Can Get, Asus Hit a Homerun10/22/2013 10:43:52 AM

Pros: What an improvement. Upgraded from my old D-Link DIR-655 (also a good router for its time). Set-Up: Easiest, fastest and most flawless of any router I've ever used. Have two 44" printers (i.e. massive print files) networked via powerline, 1 via Ethernet, numerous computers and tablets on the network at any time. Turned everything off. Hooked up router. Powered each device on 1 at a time...and it's been perfect from day one. Been using for 7 months now. Coverage? INSANE. 3,000 sq. ft. house, great speed thoughout. Was able to wirelessly use skype with video 250 feet from the router outside the house. Installed two 3TB external HD's to the USB ports on the router. Functions great as a low cost NAS. Can confirm that WDBAAU0030HBK-NESN works great with this router: Streams movies to multiple devices with no problem throughout the house. Interface? Best and EASIEST I've ever seen on any router. LOTS of tweaks and some very useful tools all made user friendly with a great GUI. I use AiCloud to share jobs / photos with clients / friends via internet straight from the attached USB HD. DLNA, Samba, FTP sharing built in. Tool most will appreciate is Download Master. No more leaving the computer on all night. Install a USB HD to the router, click it and forget it. Files fully managed and downloaded with just your router. Watching video files on android tablet, WD TV Live, and PC...playback is flawless even while the router streams multiple 1080p files to multiple devices. Well worth the 169 bones I dropped for it. You can also set up 8 separate networks. 1 main on 2.4ghz, and 3 guest 2.4 ghz networks with unique configurable conditions, and 1 main on 5ghz and 3 guest 5ghz networks for when you want to help a brother out and share, but you don't want to share everything. Has mucho more features, but I don't use 'em. Nice design. Router looks good sitting on the desk. It's Asus, so you know it's built good and they continue to support / update for long time.

Cons: Runs warm, but apparently this is normal and within specs. Still, I put an el cheapo laptop cooler under mine.

Overall Review: Using Firmware 3.0.0.4.354 Don't make the mistake I see so many people making with this awesome device and everything in general (serial BIOS updaters, anyone?): DON'T UPDATE FOR THE SAKE OF UPDATING. The serial updaters only make problems because 9 times out of 10 they don't know what they are doing and screw things up. Then they wonder why their router, computer, phone, tablet, etc. doesn't work like it used to. After being a tech support nightmare they come through with the bad reviews. You know who you are! But I love buying your perfectly working refurbs for cheap, so, hey, keep it up.

If they don't work, Keep trying...9/15/2011 11:44:06 AM

Pros: Once you get them to work, they work great. I'm going to tell my experience here in the hopes of helping someone else. With and without software, I tried connecting 1 unit to router, the other unit to a laptop running Vista 32bit. Could not get the units to see one another. Tried different outlets, outlets on the exact same circuit, etc. Nothing worked. Tried again with 1 unit hooked to router, and this time the other unit hooked to a desktop running Win 7 Ult 64 bit. Same result. Called Tech Support. Went through all the same steps with Tech Support, resetting both units, plugging / unplugging, etc. Got elevated to Level 3 Tech Support (tech support very fast and polite BTW). Went through the same steps. Even hooked each unit directly to the Vista laptop and the laptop did not even detect the connection! Level 3 Tech was convinced that the units were defective and told me to return. I wasn't so convinced because I knew the odds of getting 2 bad units were long. Continue Below.....

Cons: Everyone is right. The software is a waste of time. One egg deducted for this, and the mysterious hit-or-miss setup. Not cons, just continued maybe helpful info: ....continued from Pros: ....continued. So, I told the tech I would play around with them some and see if I could get them to work, and if not I would return them. WHAT WORKED: I have an OLD (500mhz lol) computer near my router running XP that I never use. I turned it on. Plugged on unit into router. Plugged other unit into next nearest outlet and hooked that unit to XP computer. Nothing. Did reset of unit connected to router (paperclip hole for 30 seconds, unplug for 5 seconds, plug back in). Then did reset of unit hooked into XP computer. Had some activity on the center light on the units (the light that shows connectivity). Then I pressed the Sync button on the unit hooked to router. Then I pressed the Sync button on the unit hooked to XP computer. Voila! Worked perfect. OK, continued below....

Overall Review: ...continued from Cons: So now the real test. I left the unit hooked to the router alone and unplugged the other unit hooked to the XP computer. I took that unit to the other side of the house and plugged it into an outlet definitely not on the same circuit breaker (but on the same circuit panel as my house only has one). Then I connected that unit to the desktop running Win 7 Ult 64 that did not work the first time. Voila! Worked perfect ever since whether I shut down, or disconnect ethernet. So, what was the problem? I don't know. C alled tech support back and he didn't know. Only thing that changed was plugging the unit into the old XP box. So, maybe that makes a difference, or if something else did, you have it all here. Hope it helps! BTW, I did not install the software on either the XP computer or the Win 7 desktop. My goal with these is to print directly to ethernet printer sans router. Will see how that goes. Don't quit if it doesn't work at first. Maybe try XP. Goo

Quiet, and POWERFUL9/8/2011 12:16:54 PM

Pros: Cool, quiet, powerful and gold certified. Jumped on this when it was a Shell Shocker deal and glad I did. This unit delivers more actual useful power than many 750W, 850W or even 1000W units. Read the specs. 54 amps on the 12V rail. MODULAR, comes with LOTS of FLAT, LONG cables neatly packaged in a velcro fanny pack thing you can use to stash something else in when you're done. Nice fan on the unit. Did I mention the fan is QUIET?

Cons: nada...other than it looks like it's out of stock or deactivated, so you may have missed out.

Hands Down, The Best Board9/8/2011 12:04:59 PM

Pros: Hands down the best board I've owned, and the best board out there right now for me. The only board that had everything I needed. Great blend of old tech (IDE port, Floppy port) and the latest, greatest: tons of USB 3.0, front and back, Ivy Bridge compatible, PCI-E 3.0., onboard power / reset / CMOS makes for easy build. OK, all that's great, but I've had other boards from other makers...(cough.a..Asus..cough) that were loaded with features but a pain to set up. Easiest, smoothest set up of any board I've ever had. Onboard video surprisingly good. Running dual HDMI monitors (32" and 24") without a hiccup off the mobo (no GPU). Came with plenty of cables, frontplate USB 3.0, and you can mount your SSD in that frontplate behind the USB ports, so save an opening in your case for something else. UEFI BIOS rocks. I boot multiple OS's and there is nothing in the BIOS that complicated my set-up. Smooth as butter. Everything packaged well, organized, easy to understand.

Cons: My biggest con was having to see the Fat face in the BIOS background, but just upgrade your BIOS and Asrock fixed that. Now you can turn off that creepy staring face. Front USB 3.0 uses a cable that runs to the back of your case. Would prefer a cable that attaches directly to the board. Costs less now than it did when I bought it! Been giving the board some run throughs trying to find any problems. No other cons for me right now. Have yet to connect a GPU or populate a PCI slot. Will update this review if I encounter any problem or glitch.

Overall Review: Newegg shipping got it all here fast and packaged well. My first Asrock board. If this board has the longevity to match the initial performance, it won't be my last. Great board. If you're looking z68, I haven't seen another that comes close to this one in terms of features and VERY EASY set-up! My system specs: Asrock z68 Professional Intel I7 2600K 4x4GB (16GB) 1333 G. AVOID if you're running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit8/24/2011 10:42:18 PM

Pros: Worked fine on a Windows Vista 32 bit laptop. Buy this if it's for an older computer or older OS, but....

Cons: ....Do not buy this if you are running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. A quick Google will confirm this device is incompatible and lots of problems. I just saw it works on Win 7 64 before I bought. Shoulda researched. No good on Ultimate 64. Looks like folks running other versions of Win 7 64 and prior OS'sare OK, but the other reviewers who have stated it doesn't work on Win 7 Ultimate 64 are right. I've tried everything, Rosewill driver and Realtek driver dated 08-22-2011. Got it to see a network a couple of times IF I set the network manually. Upon reboot, it didn't see it anymore. Then it doesn't see any networks (right next to the router, so not a distance issue). Sometimes it will say the device cannot start. Hours of headache, several reinstalls; I'm done with you Rosewill. Now I'll have to buy something else. NOT Rosewill. Maybe eventually Realtek will update and get the problems with Win 7 Ultimate 64 worked out, but for now, if you're running Win 7 Ultimate 64 DO NOT BUY THIS.

Overall Review: Relevant system specs: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 SP1 Asrock z68 Fatal1ty Pro Crucial m4 128GB 8GB G Skill Ripjaws X Router is D-Link Dir-655 1.35A Firmware

Charges everything I throw at it7/16/2011 10:43:56 PM

Pros: Cheap. Charges every common battery, even 9 volt, a huge plus. Charges regular alkaline batteries, an even bigger plus. Has charged every battery I've thrown at it. Tells you when the battery is bad so you don't waste time trying to use it.

Cons: Loading batteries in is a little awkward, but you get used to it. Has to be some inconvenience using the same slots for AAA all the way up to D.

Overall Review: Great bang for the buck on sale.

Great heaters7/16/2011 10:39:07 PM

Pros: Great heaters. I use a wood stove to heat. Trust me, no other heat source comes close to the heavenly perfection of a wood stove. But we bought one of these for bathroom or other space heat needs when we don't want / need to have a fire. Worked so well I bought 2 more on sale. One to use, and another just to have in case or give my mom. Great as a space heater. Light, easy to move around, stylish design. Want to heat your whole house? Get a wood stove. Want to heat a room, toast up out of the shower, etc.? These are perfect for that.

Cons: Stinks the first time. Plug it in outside for a half hour and burn the stink off.

Overall Review: Great heaters. Much better than the oil filled one I used to have that takes forever to heat up. These things start throwing off heat in seconds.

works...no speed gain7/16/2011 10:33:46 PM

Pros: Works. No speed gain. Speed was actually a tad slower. YMMV. Got it for my sister's laptop, though, whose wireless had died, so it restored her to internet access bliss.

Cons: That big antenna looks cool, bu may not be a big boost. Too many factors to consider, though. Don't expect miracles.

Overall Review: Bought based on reviews here. After seeing what it did for the purpose I bought it, I would buy again. Not gonna rave about it, though. Probably not much better or worse than other units.

Great monitor for fab price7/16/2011 10:29:53 PM

Pros: Lots of ports. Lots of hookups. Screen is NOT reflective glossy; I hate glossy screens. Using this as monitor only so can't speak to how it behaves receiving TV signals. As a monitor, it's unbelievable quality for the price. Very sharp text. My wife uses this monitor reading lots of text for her work. Got it so her eyes wouldn't be strained. Serves that purpose perfectly. We watch internet vids and movies on it. Great quality. Hard to believe you can score this for sub 300 now. I'll probably get another one for a new system I'm building when it hits a sale again. Sound is great for built in speakers. Some may need to adjust the settings. The remote does exactly what it's supposed to do. Dropped the remote on concrete floor and it still works. I did a ton of research on big monitors, and you can't get this quality without spending more. A lot more.

Cons: No cons. It's great.

Overall Review: Arrived fast. Packed well by Acer in retail box. Up and running fast.

Cheap Awesome HDMI cable7/16/2011 10:16:52 PM

Pros: Cheap, perfect LONG HDMI. My wife likes it because it's really long. Easy to hook up while in bed.

Cons: Didn't have to listen to some moron tell me why I need to pay $40 for a long HDMI. Oh, wait, that's not a con.

Overall Review: Never know when you'll need a long one. Get it. When not using the full length of this massively long monster, it coils easily.
