Pretty fast card!
Pros: Its a 3080,plays all the newest titles great!
Cons: Needs really good case ventilation otherwise it will cook itself.
Overall Review: Since the card came from China, had to be sure it got to Canada before 30 days so could register for warranty. Took a week to get shipped out then another 2 weeks until delivery, lots of time left over. It runs hot and loud. Although it only registers 60C, the back of the card is pretty hot. You really need good case ventilation. With the odd exception, for me its a 144hz ultra settings 1440P card with low RTX ON. Kind of expensive, but all considering it was around what a 2080ti was back in the day, just have to suck it up.
TheOuterWorlds......Download in one sitting or start over from 0 ... :(
Pros: I really love The Outer Worlds, its Fallout meets Bioshock.
Cons: Careful now, Epic Games Launcher will force you yo download the whole thing over again if you for some reason turn you PC off or reinstall windows for some odd reason, you can trick EGL to verify other games etc, but for some reason not TOW.
Overall Review: Its not so much that the game is terrible, its the fact you can't even pause do a restart etc without having to install from 0. Other games there are work around, BL3 you can partially install the game then quit EGL, copy and paste the whole BL3 folder, start it up, varifies, works like a charm. I love Steam for this reason, can just copy and paste whole folders or do backup and restore functions, there are a few clients out there now, but they are the only client that even tries. Plus they have amazing community services like a profile page, user game reviews etc. Not to mention the jumping through hoops to get your game code. The whole experience leaves a foul taste in my mouth honestly.
Cool Quiet and Fast
Pros: runs super quiet and cool.
Cons: none so far
Overall Review: Was quite impressed how cool and quiet it is. Its got denser(2TB compared to 1.8TB) platters than the X16, so reads a little more data per revolution. Read and writes with CrystalDiskMark are quite impressive, max sequential 273MB/s reads, 270MB/s writes.
Very nice little laptop.
Pros: Surprisingly quick booting and opening programs. Second port for up to 2TB NVME 1.3 SSD. Really good panel. Looks really pretty. 16GB memory. Seriously pretty looking laptop, looks very upscale!
Cons: I have gotten used to 32" screens, 15.6" is so tiny and hard to read..... Gets rather hot and loud if pushing the GPU. CPU/MB limitations makes it actually DDR4 2933, not advertised DDR4 3200, there is no XMP setting in the BIOS!
Overall Review: Don't be fooled by it only being a 6 core for todays standards, it multi tasks pretty amazingly. Opens programs seriously quick, even though the SSD is only 1800MB/s, I really can't tell the difference from regular SATA SSD to PCIE 4.0 in all honesty, beside benchmarks making it sound faster than it really is. Its got a decent quality 144hz screen, colors etc are great, only thing is its so tiny, but that comes with the territory with a standard sized laptop. Love how you can add secondary 2TB NVME SSD, huge selling point for me honestly, if you game at all you know 512GB just isn't enough, but its a good start. Technically you could do 2TB x2 if you really wanted to. Comes with the 75W 3060, boosts to the standard advertised 1465mhz, but have yet to see more than 4.8ghz out of the 10750H. Temps are about 80C max, which isn't half bad, MSI has lost customers in the past due to poor cooling, nice to see they addressed that weak point. But it gets seriously hot and loud, but again, to be expected, I usually lock frames from 30 to 60fps in all honesty. Which really helps a lot. For a 1080P machine it rocks pretty hard, plus the added bonus its actually a laptop!
Decent size and speed
Pros: 12TB, pretty fast for a mechanical drive. 5yr warranty. CMR drive, not SMR drive from what I have been able to understand.
Cons: Could be a little faster?
Overall Review: Generally speaking, a great drive for the price, quality is fine. Empty the drive is about 220MBs r/w, and 3/4 full its about 185MBs.
decent drive for a decent price
Pros: 1TB of fast storage. 5yr warranty.
Cons: runs hot, when gets hot slows right down.
Overall Review: Although its not the fastest NVME drive on the market, I personally can not tell the difference, replaces a 256GB HP EX950, which on benches is 2x faster, but in reality it feels exactly the same. anything after an SATA3 SSD, I personally cant really tell the difference. I went with the cheapest at the time and being PCIE3.0 4X NVME and a 5 year warranty. Real world I have never overheated the SSD, but I did do an unrealistic file copy, after about 300GB copy it hit its temp threshhold and went down to 70MB/s, I don't know if that typical or not, just throwing that out there. But for everyday use its just fine.
