Good Card
Pros: The card does everything you would expect a card of its generation and its upper mid-grade status. It is quiet, and I have experienced no stability issues. I would give 5 eggs except the first card just like this one I ordered was a brick. That said when I was investigating the problem I called EVGA support and was almost (about 3 min) immediately connected with someone who knew what they were talking about and walked me through the process to determine the video card was a dud and that I should return it. Also this tech guy was either from the U.S. or Canada, and that says something.
Cons: The first card was a dud, but the replacement one works great.
Overall Review: I am glad this card is not 15 inches long, or whatever the max is these days. Before I replaced my old card, it was way too long and it crowded my case. This new EVGA card is what at least seems an appropriate size.
what I expected
Pros: fast, obviously. stable. Less marketing nonsense than the other brand. There are several models of amd processors, but they make it very clear the quantitative differences between each. As a matter of personal preference I find it much easier to install amd am3 style heatsinks than the intel equivalent. The little arm that snaps down in one place just works so much better than the 4 black tabs on the intel design.
Cons: The stock fan is pretty loud when it is at full load. I have bose quiet comfort 15 headphones and i can still hear that fan a little. The heat-sink itself seems undersized, but I haven't had any overheating with prime95, so it is probably ok.
Overall Review: I installed this processor in a M5A97 R2.0. Setup was straightforward.
