True champions are usually ugly as sin

Noctua NF-P12, Premium Quiet Fan, 3-Pin (120mm, Brown)
Noctua NF-P12, Premium Quiet Fan, 3-Pin (120mm, Brown)

Pros: Have two of them doing push/pull on a Hyper 212+ and they're great. ...I'll never know what in jebus' name possessed them to choose the pink/brown color scheme, but I haven't had to look at them since installation so no big deal. Fuglyness aside, once you hold one of these fans in your hands and see/hear it spin up for the first time, it becomes obvious that a lot of science and love went into crafting these gems. They push plenty of air and operate smooth as silk. Like greasing up a raw brisket and hurling it down a slip-n-slide. (I'd wager these fans are just as delicious too, but haven't tried). Nutshell: Efficient and grizzly-ugly, like Clint Eastwood. Buy.

Cons: Fugly. Chocolate-on-raw-chicken color scheme. Don't let this deter you from buying though.

Overall Review: Get you one. (Or several).

Rock solid, sexy board.

MSI P55-GD65 LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard
MSI P55-GD65 LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: I haven't used an MSi mobo in almost 10 years before this one, and I've got to say, it's an impressive little beast! So it doesn't have USB3 or SATA6, bah. Who cares. Nothing a cheap add-in board won't fix. Overclocked my i5-750 from 2.67GHz to 3.80GHz without breaking a sweat and runs my Corsair XMS3 at 1600MHz without complaining once. Plenty of room for upgrades down the road, sexy color scheme and even like the little test header for manually checking voltages with a multimeter. (I've used it, it's accurate. And fun!) Don't care for the OC genie feature, didn't need to use it. I'm sure it's fine though for the lazy overclocker. Nutshell: Rock solid performance, plenty of features, overclocks well.

Cons: The box didn't sing when I opened it. >:U

Overall Review: Would recommend to anyone.

A rare instance where cheap yeilds quality

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: The price for this cooler is excellent. $30? Deal! It's currently sitting on top of my i5-750, overclocked to 3.8GHz and has no trouble keeping temps under control. Usually sits around 38-40c, which some might say is a little warm, but I'd say that's good for south Texas. Included extra brackets to add a second 120mm fan (which I'm using), installed easily. The direct-contact heat pipes makes the contact surface a little less-than-flat, so applying thermal paste can get a little tricky at times, but overall I absolutely love this HSF. For $30 it's a no-brainer.

Cons: It didn't come with a second 120mm fan? Bah, no big deal. Runs great with the stock fan included.

Western Digital WD VelociRaptor WD3000HLFS 300GB 10000 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Western Digital WD VelociRaptor WD3000HLFS 300GB 10000 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Raptors are awesome. (Both the hard drive and the dinosaur). Can't hear it over the fans already whirring-away in my case, runs cooler than my 1TB Caviar Black and is indeed a bit faster. Not by leaps and bounds or anything, but yes, a bit snappier. It's about the best you can do with platters that I've seen, excluding SCSI of course. Completely happy with it.

Cons: Pricey for the storage you get, but that's to be expected for those of us who demand another 2,800 RPM.

Overall Review: I like the yellow sticker for some reason. Like, "CAUTION! This drive be fast!" ...Even though I only saw it once. (When shoving it into the case).
