Is it worth the wait??

GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD3R LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD3R LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Two PCI-E slots rather than all the other options that offer 3-4 and the last two are crippled speed capable. Good documentation including all necessary cables and hardware. Fair price and performs as expected.

Cons: Extremely long POST times. CMOS reset pins are located in a place that has them directly under a full length video card. Short of video card removal, CMOS reset would be very tough chore. Be sure to use the Network IO drivers on the CD with the motherboard and DO NOT update to Microsoft Updates version. Not a Gigabyte Con but thought it wise to share this information.

Overall Review: Built an i7-920 system using this motherboard and Gskill 1600 ram (Dual channel 4gb kit) Successfully OC'd the unit to 3.8GHZ with minimal Vcore voltage bump. The motherboard North bridge location is a perfect should your case have a fan on the side that introduces fresh air to the CPU.

Form over function

TRITTON AX51 Pro 5.1 True Surround Sound Headset WITH 8 PRECISION SPEAKERS, DESIGNED for PC – 3.5mm Analog Input
TRITTON AX51 Pro 5.1 True Surround Sound Headset WITH 8 PRECISION SPEAKERS, DESIGNED for PC – 3.5mm Analog Input

Pros: Very comfortable headset with deep ear cups. Supplied with replacement ear cup pads giving the user a choice of cloth or vinyl. Fair to good sound reproduction. Good bass reproduction utilizing the lapel mounted amplifier. Good use of PC power to energize headset. When PC is off, so is the headset. Futuristic design with orange illuminated Tritton logos on the ear cups when in use. Very long cord length between remote and computer interface allowing for large area of free movement. Great packaging.

Cons: In order to properly experience the best from these headphones the user will need a good X-Fi or equivalent 5.1 sound card that offers bass adjustment or +db to bass. Positional sound is fair but requires the user to take some ownership of understanding and adjusting the 6 channels of sound properly. The length of cord between the shirt stress relief clip and remote is far too short. The short cord constant suspends the remote which is heavy and causes premature conductor/solder connection failures in the ear cups as well as the lapel remote. Bought two different units from two different suppliers, same result with premature conductor/solder connection failures. These failures ranged from the mic becoming staticy to one ear cup becoming completely inoperable. Manipulating the entry/exit points of the cord would cause intermittent operation eventually ending in complete unit failure.

Overall Review: I own both the Tritton AX51 and Turtle Beach HPA2 headsets and comparing them against each other, the Turtle Beach HPA2 is a far better performer. In this humble reviewers opinion Tritton spent more money on the packaging then real world user trials. The Tritton AX51 packaging is by far the best I have ever seen allowing the purchaser to see every aspect of the unit, leaving one with a feeling of guilt to remove them from their custom formed bedding. The sound reproduction of the Tritton AX51 almost sounds muffled as if under a blanket or flat. The positional sound (even when properly configured) did not allow for accurate relative positioning. The Turtle Beach HPA2 produced far better full range sound and extremely accurate positional sound.

Great gaming option

Acer G6 Series G276HL Gbd Black 27" VA 6ms (GTG) 60 Hz Widescreen LED/LCD Monitor 1920 x 1080 FHD, Slim Profile Design, Acer eColor Technology, and Eco-Friendly
Acer G6 Series G276HL Gbd Black 27" VA 6ms (GTG) 60 Hz Widescreen LED/LCD Monitor 1920 x 1080 FHD, Slim Profile Design, Acer eColor Technology, and Eco-Friendly

Pros: Pros: Large screen Small Bezel 6ms Response Time Very slim Very good viewing angles Great price I purchased 3 of these to be configured as a surround for my main gaming rig. They were being driven by a Nvidia GTX 980 @ a display resolution of 5760x1080.The color saturation is excellent and the brightness/contrast ranges are very versatile allowing for adjustment for any viewing preference. Zero dead pixels on all three monitors. Because I am using these (3) monitors in a surround configuration it was important that the bezels be as small as reasonably possible. These bezel widths are only 3/8" (10mm) which allows for minimal vertical bars on a surround configuration. Excellent for driving or flying simulations. The panel is very thin helped in part by the external power pack. Typically the first thing to fail on a LCD display is the power supply inside the unit. Because this one is external the unit thickness is substantially reduced and the owner has the ability to swap out the power supply as it is external.

Cons: Cons: Flimsy Stand (No swivel and too low) No HDMI port It is hard to come up with much to complain about on this unit as it is truly a great price point and you can't get everything. The horizontal viewing angle seems to be more shallow than the 178° advertised.

Overall Review: I have purchased three of these in October 2014 and i am reviewing them now in February 2015 so that my review is based on 4 months of use. I am very happy with these displays for a high end gaming rig. They perform as expected and sip energy which helps keep the gaming environment cool. The only reason I did not give these displays 5 eggs was the lack of an HDMI connection and week stand. Very reliable and awesome picture.
