ASUS Sabertooth 990FX AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
ASUS Sabertooth 990FX AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Pros: Excellent system very happy with purchase highly recommend for everyone even my brother who thinks it costs too much, but with 5 year warranty rock solid board solid state caps plenty of USB2 ports on back 2 USB 2 headers for case ports and card reader USB3 header for case port and 2 USB 3 ports on back plenty of room for expansion inside multiple video cards can be used though one port does not accept video cards but there are other cards that use PCI express 16 slots than just video. I like the Q-connect block they provide that allows you to connect up the case to the motherboard without actually connecting to motherboard but a little block that is easier to handle and you don't have to put head in case or do motherboard connections out of case my eyesight is not perfect. # years of college education in computers dating back to 1981 for one year and 2009-2011 more recently

Cons: None otehr than the maybe that USB 3 is over powered or some other propblem that is not playing nicely with my flash drives but I cannot prove fault since my HDD works just fine on it and has since aI got his motherboard over 6 months ago

Overall Review: 6 Months and going strong. OK I have read a lot of reviews and I am afraid I have to report that many of the people that do reviews do not have as much knowledge as they think they do. I have read problems with MOBO get replacement and have identical problem and still blame the MOBO ?? if your that unlucky then stay at home or move into hospital I am sure you will be safer there. This is without a doubt the best MOBO I have ever dealt with and I built, rebuilt or upgraded upwards of 100 computer systems, I have been working on and with computers since 1980 when I bought my first one a TRS80 Model 1 which I upgraded shortly after getting it then expanded and upgraded more till I ended up with a $3,500 system. in all those years I have only gotten 2 confirmed bad components both motherboards that had a bad track record. The company has since gone out of business. System ASUS Sabertooth 990FX AMD FX-4100 GSKILL Ripjaws 8GB 2x4GB Cooler Master Storm Enforcer Antec 550W PSU Lite-on

Newegg Free CPU Magazine Coupon

Pros: none that I know of

Cons: I would have prefered a discount on my CPU than a magazine coupon that I will not use

serves me above and beyond

APC BR1500G Back-UPS Pro 1500 VA 10 outlets Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)
APC BR1500G Back-UPS Pro 1500 VA 10 outlets Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)

Pros: I have had this unit in service since January 2014 and had to replace the battery today July 2020, have not had any issues with it the entire time. Very easy to swap out the battery when time comes, just turn unit upside down, remove cover, grab two tabs and pull up, new one just drops in, unlike others that have to fight to get battery clips off of then work to get it out, from time I opened new battery and swapped around about 2 minutes total time, putting another unit on shopping list to replace smaller units

Cons: none

Overall Review: I highly recommend this unit to anyone that needs a battery backup for their system, especially if they have average electrical service that can't handle storms. I have a smaller APC unit for modem/router so keep internet and computer, this is by far the best AFFORDABLE UPS-backup units

Western Digital WD BLACK SN750 NVMe M.2 2280 500GB PCI-Express 3.0 x4 64-layer 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) WDS500G3X0C

Pros: Definitely high speed compared to a standard SSD 2.5" format and way improvement over spin drives if your computer can use it by all means this is the way to go my desktop gets boot times under 20 seconds and my laptop boots in 8 seconds. I have both 250GB and 500GB versions and both are high speed in their respective units the desktop gets 1445 read 1293 write speeds while my laptop gets 1745 and 1534 speeds very happy. Wish they had come out with them ua few years earlier before i bought all my 1TB spin drives that now in desk drawers

Cons: none that I can think of except that the screw to mount with is so small it makes it a hassle to secure without a magnet on screwdriver

Pros: cloned my windows 10 pro to this drive then installed in computer and tested it speeds were much improved over tan older WD Black drive, using Crystal disk mark 6.0.0 I get 1651.0 read sequential and 1358.3 write older black drive got 1577.7 read and 600.1 write same computer same software with having cloned it. NVMe is the only way to go and western digital black is the best

Cons: none that I can think of

Not as fast as a C drive should be

Samsung 64GB DUO Plus USB 3.1 Flash Drive, Speed Up to 200MB/s (MUF-64DB/AM)
Samsung 64GB DUO Plus USB 3.1 Flash Drive, Speed Up to 200MB/s (MUF-64DB/AM)

Pros: on my Acer laptop got speeds of 220 read and about 75 write speed using crystal disk mark. I got this to use for recovery drive for laptop which it serves well it has been partitioned by Acer to 32GB and 28GB instead of using the full 64GB so now i just format the extra partition for my DATA which is software music pictures and documents in case when on the road the drive fails gets infected and can't be removed or any other problems that I may need to put new onto drive, I also have a programmed drive that I update from time to time as windows come out with a cumulative update and keep my budget current too

Cons: not as fast as I had hoped but will do for my needs the specs say average of 200 so should not have expected anymore
