Lightning fast budget gaming.

Pros: Runs very cool with Corsair A70 and Arctic Silver. Idles at about 20C and never goes above 45C. (no overclocking here). Even the stock cooler did pretty well, no overheating no matter what I was playing. You'll want to hit this thing with a whole lot of air though. Shipped in a handsome looking aluminum case and the thermal paste is already applied to the included copper-piped heatsink. (I noticed a perfect thermal paste-dispersion when I removed the stock cooler to install my A70). It's little touches like that I really enjoyed about the whole packaging/cooling solution AMD provided here. A flagship AMD chip for cheap! Amazing value for my budget gaming rig. 4.0ghz base clock. Turbo feature works effortlessly in my system. I've put the 8350 through its paces in many demanding games: Battlefield 3, Fallout 3, New Vegas, Hawken, Planetside 2, Alan Wake, WoT, Borderlands 2, CS GO, Crysis 2, Just Cause 2, RF Guerrilla, Shift 2 Unleashed, Far Cry 3, Tribes Ascend. All ran great. Plenty of power to tweak your game-settings with, lots of headroom to customize the look and feel of your playing experience. Your choice of graphics card will put the finishing touches on this experience. I'm using this with an M5A99FX Pro R2.0 and 8GB of Gskill Ripjaw DDR3 1600 with a GTX 560 2gb. I can't say I'd really need more to work with here. Very satisfied with this chip. Props to Intel for the cutting edge stuff they've been doing, but the price point just isn't there for me with Intel. Why buy an F1 race car when I'm just as satisfied with a Porsche? This is my 5th AMD CPU and I've been with them since the Athlon 64 days when I first built a rig to play Half Life 2 in 2005. This is not the type of CPU you're going to be slaying benchmarks with. It is however worth every penny you'll spend on it. I've already enjoyed a few months of the most memorable gaming experiences I've ever had with the 8350. AMD Rules!
Cons: Honestly my only gripe is all the incessant whining from the Intel fan-boys about how the 8350 doesn't actually have 8 physical cores and can't go toe to toe with the best Intel chips or impress the nerd-chicks by slaying benchmarks. In all truth, there isn't much to expand to at this point with AMD especially since the motherboards that will use this chip won't see many more compatible processors. It doesn't cook me a delicious breakfast.
Overall Review: You get what you pay for. If you need more you can always go the Intel route. However it's going to cost you much, much more hard earned money to do so. In this case AMD is offering a substantial cost vs benefit solution.
DOA

Pros: It arrived on time... RMA service available, Newegg rocks!
Cons: HD was DOA. HD came in OEM packaging, which is another phrase for one layer of bubblewrap. $$$ to ship back to Newegg, more than i thought.
Overall Review: Newegg is the best, so this is nothing against them, however there are a ridiculous number of DOA reviews for this item on Newegg. I recieved this item OEM and it arrived in only a single layer of bubble wrap, NOTHING else except for the small bag it was in. I felt that more could have been done to protect this product during shipping. All they did was throw it in a box with a wadded up piece of packing paper and it was free to bounce around with two other items in the box... The drive went through the normal "reformat" process and got through the "progress bar". But, when it finished what appeared to be a successful reformat process Windows said it was "unable" to format the disc, suggesting that it "may be damaged". So, I tried a second time. This time as soon as a partition was made and the reformat process began I got the BSOD (blue screen of death). I tried at least ten more times but never got past BSOD.
Disappointment

Pros: None.
Cons: Arrived cracked. Completely unuseable.
Overall Review: This is an absolute joke. I waited over a month for this screen to arrive. When I installed it and powered it on I discovered it was cracked and completely worthless. DO NOT BUY THIS. You might as well take your money and flush it down the toilet. Disgusting.
Excellent for gaming.

Pros: 1) The long, deep contours on both sides both provide EXCELLENT grip. I've owned 5 logitech mice and this is the only one I feel suits my hand so well. Its nimble and narrow, not tall and broad... ahem MX518. 2) This mouse compared to, say an MX518, is very slender in the back. I control my mouse with my fingertips, all I need the back end of the mouse for is to rest my palm on. 3. What can I say, 2 year battery life and extremely reliable operation from a distance. I'm sitting on my futon ten feet away from my desktop, using the M510 on the fabric of my jet black futon. Flawless tracking, flawless signal. I also live in a neighborhood that is so densely populated that its called the "student ghetto". I get absolutely NO interference with this thing. 4. Side buttons are great. They stick out a bit and aren't easy to accidentally press. I play a lot of FPS and I use these buttons for knife/grenade. You can rest your thumb on them so they're ready when you are, no accidents.
Cons: Only one. The laser on this mouse is mounted on the right side, not the center. As you can imagine, for FPS gaming the way you move your wrist is critical. Say you're getting shot at behind and need to do a 180 while keeping your view on the horizon, until you get used to this you may end up going down and to the right instead. It took me about an hour, but once my hand/mind got used to it I felt I had such better command of my aim that it left me speechless!
Overall Review: I paid full price at a local business for this mouse. Its worth every penny, but this technology has been around a while so I was surprised that any of these basic wireless mice cost upwards of $30.
RMA Process for this HD

Pros: I gave this hard drive a 1-egg review when it arrived. I think it's only fair though to also review the RMA process newegg provided for my DOA hard drive. Basically I'm very impressed. The RMA process only took a little over a week, even with memorial day right in the middle of my return process. Very quick processing considering I forgot to even write my RMA number on the outside of the return shipping box. Customer service was awesome, they emailed me a prepaid shipping label, so the RMA cost me nothing. My replacement is due to arrive tomorrow and I don't doubt it will work just fine.
Cons: Really none. These things happen, at least Newegg has an awesome return/exchange policy.
Overall Review: The people at Newegg deserve a round of applause. I've been a customer of Newegg since I built my first PC at age 18. 5 years later they are still my go-to company for PC parts. Newegg Rocks!
Great RAM

Pros: I like the heat spreader design, and the color is pretty cool. During long periods of gaming they don't get too terribly hot in my system, as I'm not an overclocker. Running 2 gigs of this with an AMD Athlon X2 5000+ was powerful enough to max out Mass Effect 2. Most importantly, it was compatible with my ancient AM2 motherboard and the used CPU I ordered from a dude online. That's impressive.
Cons: None, other than I'm hungry and this RAM refuses to cook me breakfast.
Overall Review: Definitely very impressed. Look, I'm not an overclocker. I threw these in my new little gaming rig and I'm totally satisfied with the results. I'll be buying A-DATA again and I want to get another set of these and run 4gb.
