Faster than XAV101

NETGEAR XAVB5001-100NAS Powerline AV 500 Adapter Kit Up to 500Mbps
NETGEAR XAVB5001-100NAS Powerline AV 500 Adapter Kit Up to 500Mbps

Pros: Faster than the 200mbs version and studder-free HD streaming. Good alternative to wireless-N or running UTP (ethernet cable).

Cons: Not as fast as Ethernet. Delivers nowhere near the rated speed. Needed firmware update to work. :(

Overall Review: I bought these to replace my older Netgear XAV101 (200mbs) to improve streaming HD movies from the PC in the office to the family room TV where its not possible to run UTP and outside Wireless-N range. The 200mbs model would studder anytime the bitrate went over 40 mbs. The 500mbs model starts studdering when the bitrate goes to about 75mbs. Most of the movies I watch are x264 encoded at around 6mbs so its very rare when any scene goes over 75mbs. Initially I was going to RMA these since they didnt work out of the box. The devices wouldnt connect with each other. However, after I upgraded the firmware with the software they give you, it finally worked. Bottom line: These are noticeably faster than the previous models but still don't expect ethernet speeds.

Worth Nothing

Nippon Labs Delux Internal Card Reader with Floppy Drive 3.5” Internal All In One Card Reader/Writer with USB2.0 & FDD1.44" & 3.5" FLOPPY DRIVE Model ICR-EE
Nippon Labs Delux Internal Card Reader with Floppy Drive 3.5” Internal All In One Card Reader/Writer with USB2.0 & FDD1.44" & 3.5" FLOPPY DRIVE Model ICR-EE

Pros: Free with a combo package.

Cons: Doesnt fit in the opening of the case. Floppy drive doesnt connect to USB header; not many new motherboards come with a floppy connector.

Overall Review: Not even worth the hassle when its free. I bought an external reader.

Bad QC On Cables

Super Flower Leadex III 850W 80+ Gold, Three-Way ECO Mode Fanless, Silent & Cooling Mode, FDB Fan, Full Modular Power Supply, Dual Over Power Protection, SF-850F14HG
Super Flower Leadex III 850W 80+ Gold, Three-Way ECO Mode Fanless, Silent & Cooling Mode, FDB Fan, Full Modular Power Supply, Dual Over Power Protection, SF-850F14HG

Pros: Quiet and the power supply itself seems to be high quality. Replaces a 550w OZC that lasted 12 years on a HTPC running 24/7.

Cons: Bad quality check on the cables. One of the SATA power connectors doesn't work. Took a while to troubleshoot why the drive didnt spin up until I switched to another connector on the same string. Thankfully it wasnt the motherboard connector and it didnt ruin my hard drive. Not sure how to order a replacement, their website doesnt have much info on where to file a warranty claim or purchase another cable. Comes with a handy cloth Velcro bag for storing the cables.

Overall Review: No way to test the cables without plugging thing in and hope they work and dont blow anything up.

Looks Good

Rosewill 6 Qt. Electric Pressure Cooker, 8-in-1 Programmable Multi Cooker: Slow Cooker, Rice Cooker, Pressure Cooker, Food Steamer, Saute, Yogurt Maker, Deep Fryer, Warmer w/ Stainless Steel Pot
Rosewill 6 Qt. Electric Pressure Cooker, 8-in-1 Programmable Multi Cooker: Slow Cooker, Rice Cooker, Pressure Cooker, Food Steamer, Saute, Yogurt Maker, Deep Fryer, Warmer w/ Stainless Steel Pot

Pros: Looks and feels high-end and at half price of the name brand. Nice steamer rack that securely rests in the pot.

Cons: -Not a good value. -Pressure release valve is over-designed and keeps leaking air. -The controls are overly complicated. -No manual setting - must use a pre-programmed option and adjust the time to match the recipe. -No countdown timer after cooking for natural release.

Overall Review: There are lots of annoying features that people could over look based on the price especially if they don't have anything to compare against. The deal breaker is the poor design of the pressure release valve that needs to be constantly babysat to prevent leaking.

Good, Inexpensive 1Gbs Router

TP-Link 8 Port Gigabit Ethernet Network Switch | Plug and Play | Desktop or Wall-Mount | Plastic Case Ethernet Splitter | Fanless | Traffic Optimization | Unmanaged (TL-SG1008D)
TP-Link 8 Port Gigabit Ethernet Network Switch | Plug and Play | Desktop or Wall-Mount | Plastic Case Ethernet Splitter | Fanless | Traffic Optimization | Unmanaged (TL-SG1008D)

Pros: -Inexpensive -Fast (1GBS) -Plug and Play (nothing to do but plug things in)

Cons: -None

Overall Review: I did not hear any of the high pitch 'coil noise' from the AC/DC transformer. Incase my ears are shot, I made my kids put their ears to the plug and sit there for 20 minutes. Nothing to report.. Still unconvinced there could still be a harmless noise that nobody can hear, I locked the dog in the same room for the day and there was no noticeable change in his behavior when I let him out.

Nice, Inexpensive WiFI Security Camera

EZVIZ Mini HD 720p Wi-Fi Home Security Camera with Motion Detection, 130 Degree View, Night Vision, Works with Alexa and Google Home Using IFTTT (Special Offer 12 Month Cloud Storage w/ 7 Day Playback)
EZVIZ Mini HD 720p Wi-Fi Home Security Camera with Motion Detection, 130 Degree View, Night Vision, Works with Alexa and Google Home Using IFTTT (Special Offer 12 Month Cloud Storage w/ 7 Day Playback)

Pros: -Inexpensive compared to other brands -Good quality HD video and audio for a tiny camera -Loads videos really fast (almost instantly) even when using cell phone internet service. (you know who is at the front door right away without having to wait for the app to load the image) -Easy to set up and connect to home WiFi (using their app and following instructions) -Notifications can be put on a schedule: days and times. (ie. only send alerts friday and saturdays between 1am-3am..,etc) -Remote monitoring. Watch live or recorded video over the internet (when you are not connected to home network) -AC power ( no expensive batteries) -Save to a memory card so you dont have to use the cloud service (I purchased item # N82E16820301310)

Cons: -Must use EZVIZ App to set it up and use. (iPhone or Android) -Someone can just steal or destroy the camera and you lost your evidence if you dont use the Cloud -Cant access the device using a webrowser. -- at least I couldnt connect with Chrome, IE11, and MS Edge -ezvizlife.com does not have a forums or online community on its website -Device is not discoverable or able to connect over a home network. Cant backup the memory card over the network.

Overall Review: Suggestions: 1. EZVIZ should improve their website and offer a way to connect using a popular web browser. 2. Create online forums for troubleshooting and build up a loyal community fanbase. 3. Allow network file system access to the device to backup and manage the information on the internal memory card. The hardware is there, the software just needs a few improvements before I would consider this a 5-star product. But if you are looking for a security camera that lets you watch live and recorded video over the internet then this is a great buy.
