Pros: -Easy enough to use, -Much better file sharing than comparable NAS, especially ones with windows server installed -Robust hard drive management

Cons: - Synology has been phasing out apps, So this thing is actually less functional then it was when I bought it. - They have a known issue where they ship with shoddy power supplies

Overall Review: After my experience with this one I am not going to be buying another synology product. The power supply on this one died at the worst time and synology support would not just one for one the power supply, they wanted me to ship the whole thing back to them. Considering this is their fault the lack of flexibility with their support means I will be moving to custom built servers or look at other products.

Pros: Fairly priced, runs most OS okay

Cons: doesn't do anything well. I think the it's the processor, but the performance lag even as a pfsense router is big enough that it gets used as a test system

Overall Review: It's a fair price but the hardware isn't that great. I ran it with a bunch of operating systems with a 256GB SSD. Pfsense, Kali, win 7, debian. There was enough of a performance issue that I chucked it. I have an old dell poweredge server running a bunch of virtualized pfsense OS (the processors on the poweredge server are better but ram, hd, nics are better on the MxPC

Pros: Buidling a vsphere server.. This board works perfect for it. everything showed up great. Would love to use this board for this

Cons: Board came defective. After customer support tech spent about an hour troubleshooting. Tech insisted even though the 4 ram sticks worked in the other 6 slots perfectly. I wasn't using approved ram. Suggested I use newegg's return policy. I shudder to think what I would have to go through if I couldn't return it through newegg.

Overall Review: ASUS has completely unreliable customer service. It appears they won't support their products. Also have a zenbook sitting with them for about a month waiting for a repair.
