ASUS ROG G703GI-XS71 17.3" 144 Hz Intel Core i7 8th Gen 8750H (2.20 GHz) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 16 GB Memory 256 GB SSD 2 TB SSHD Windows 10 Pro 64-bit Gaming Laptop

Pros: It certainly lives up to its name as a desktop replacement in the form of a laptop. It is well built and has the necessary upgradability if needed for the user when it comes to ram and hard drive expansion. It has a powerful enough CPU and GPU to run almost certainly anything you might have to throw at it.

Cons: Hardware: CPU - I had already done my research and knew what I needed of my processor; thus in order to keep the temperature down, I manually limited the power of the laptop to keep the Intel Boost from activating (the temperature hasn't passed 65° C). This has done wonders for my laptop when I push it to its limits without the boost. GPU - It will depend on what games you run, but after having completely decreased the range of the base clock and memory clock offsets, the GPU won't surpass 80° C (before it was pushing into the low 90° C). Though annoyingly so for certain games that cause the GPU to do full utilization upon start-up, the fans get quite loud as expected to keep the temperature down. Afterwards, when running the game for a while, the fan noise levels out to a reasonable amount that the audio can mask it. On a side note, the sheer size of the laptop was larger than I expected with two power bricks in the back to plug-in. You will want to have your laptop on a flat table or desk with enough depth to make space for the entire unit and its accessories.

Overall Review: It is plenty fast with the M.2 PCIe SSD upon boot-up and loading software on the 256GB drive. The 2TB drive is large enough for me to keep all of my data on of which I mirror a copy onto an external drive as a backup. I turned off the RGB lighting for the keyboard since I use an external keyboard and mouse. I had also gone into the BIOS to turn off the ROG logo sound upon starting the laptop. I do wish if it were possible to change the color of the red lit power button and the large ROG logo on the other side of the screen. Plain and simple, more versatility with the software that comes with the laptop would be appreciated.
