Great CPU for the price!

Intel Pentium D 945 - Pentium D Presler Dual-Core 3.4 GHz LGA 775 Desktop Processor - CPU-PD945-R
Intel Pentium D 945 - Pentium D Presler Dual-Core 3.4 GHz LGA 775 Desktop Processor - CPU-PD945-R

Pros: Very fast! It needs a good fan and gets a bit hot but not to bad. The 4 mb of cache memory makes this CPU able to keep up with todays newer CPUs. if you need to upgrade an older computer with a fast processor look no farther.

Cons: First one was DOA. It is recertified so i am not to disappointed. Newegg was great about replacing it very quickly. Minus one egg only because i think it should be tested before shipped. They are probibly very busy and don't have the time to do that lol.

Overall Review: Seriously though, Newegg is fantastic! I think i have been ordering computer equipment since they started their business. Don't buy anywhere else.

Most Critical Review

Poor quailty

2 in 1 3.5" inch SATA to IDE / IDE to SATA ATA100/133 Adapter Converter + Cable
2 in 1 3.5" inch SATA to IDE / IDE to SATA ATA100/133 Adapter Converter + Cable

Pros: Well, the light comes on. That means it is getting power. That's about it.

Cons: It looks like the item was refurbished. It seems that the unit was resoldered. I even saw a finger print on the board itself. I thought is was supposed to be a new unit. Oh well, it was only 5 bucks and worth a try.

Overall Review: I would just put the five bucks into buying a whole new unit that you know will work in the first place i.e. (the proper drive).

Loud PSU

Athena Power AP-MFATX35 350W Mini ITX / Micro FLEX ATX / ATX12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply for many HP Slimline System Upgrades/Replacement
Athena Power AP-MFATX35 350W Mini ITX / Micro FLEX ATX / ATX12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply for many HP Slimline System Upgrades/Replacement

Pros: Seems to be a very strong PSU. It fits in the HP Slimline case well. Its about half the size of the original PSU. Going from a 160w to a 350w is a nice jump. lots more connection types incase you want to upgrade the motherboard. All in all it is very good. This PSU also doesn't run near as hot as the original.

Cons: The rear fan is very loud but not a high pitch type of loud. Sometimes the fan will run loud and sometimes it will be ok depending on the load it is under. There are a lot more cables so the extra space from being half the size of the original PSU will be used up. It comes with a standard size 24pin motherboard connector. You will need to buy a 24pin to Mini HP 24pin adaptor. Yes, the motherboard is 24pin and not 20pin, so don't make that mistake. I found mine on a competitor's website because Newegg didn't have one. Sorry Newegg I still love you guys.

Overall Review: I probably should have bought the 400w one seeing that it is only $10 more. It will support more video card possibilities. I don't mind the Loud fan so much and it does move more air. Just hope it lasts and if it doesn't I can just get a better 40mm replacement and solder it in.

One more Thing to Add

Corsair Raptor HS30 Dual 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Gaming Headset
Corsair Raptor HS30 Dual 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Gaming Headset

Pros: A lot. Already stated in previous review.

Cons: Non

Overall Review: One thing I forgot to mention. The mic and sound plugs are not color coded and people complain about it because they are both red. If you look closely the connector rings on the plugs are actually color coded. I pay attention to small details like that. So just look and the plug and go buy a pair. What are you waiting for!

Super Card for Super Price

ECS GeForce GTX 650 Ti 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Video Card GTX650TI-2GR5-GFM
ECS GeForce GTX 650 Ti 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Video Card GTX650TI-2GR5-GFM

Pros: The main pro to this card is the jump in performance from 1gb to 2gb of GDDR5 memory. The 1gb version is about -50% the performance of the GTX 660, but with the 2gb version can hang pretty well with only about -20% performance. World of Tanks runs anywhere from 58-65 fps on Max setting. World of Warcraft runs at 90 fps most times. This card is truly awesome! Best part is that it was $119. :) For the Mid to Upper Mid Gamer its a Beast!

Cons: Only 2 draw backs but no reduction in eggs for these. First is that it can't run in SLI configuration. No biggie, It wasn't made for that. Buy the GTX 660 if you want SLI. Second Draw back is that it can use some power, so don't run a cheap power supply. I tried to run it on a Logisys 575w, bad mistake. Had to switch to my BFG bronze cert. 450w and runs great now.

Overall Review: Buy one now! If not this card get any of the GTX 650 Ti. Gigabyte is great too.

Better than expected

LOGISYS Computer PS575XBK 575W ATX12V SLI Ready Power Supply
LOGISYS Computer PS575XBK 575W ATX12V SLI Ready Power Supply

Pros: So far its nice and quiet. Better than the Apevia 700 I had. Runs everything just fine. Its great for mid type systems with one video card.

Cons: none so far.

Overall Review: Not sure how well it will do in SLI configuration.
