So far so good, kinda

Seagate BarraCuda 7200.11 ST31500341AS 1.5TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Seagate BarraCuda 7200.11 ST31500341AS 1.5TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Best data density in a RAID array

Cons: Failure rate, firmware concerns. 1 of 10 drives failed w/in 1 week.

Overall Review: I bought 10 of these from newegg hoping that the whole freezing issues with the firmware were resolved and so far so good but now I'm still worried that something is going to happen... Of the 10 drives I bought 1 has write failures w/in one week of use in a 10 drive Raidz+ configuration (similar to raid6).

Performance is good, but green artifacts on startup

ASUS EAH5850/G/2DIS/1GD5 Radeon HD 5850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card w/ATI Eyefinity
ASUS EAH5850/G/2DIS/1GD5 Radeon HD 5850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card w/ATI Eyefinity

Pros: The card performs great, L4D2 maxed, Borderlands maxed, DragonAge maxed and all have good FPS.

Cons: Every time I start my PC up the desktop is covered in little green twinkling lights and for the first 15 minutes of play I get green twinkling pixels everywhere (W7). Usually I could just return the card to get one w/out problems but since these cards are 100% sold out constantly if I send it back I'll never get to use it.

Finally ready for primetime

ASUS Xonar HDAV1.3 Deluxe 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Express x1 Interface Audio/Video Enhancement Combo Card
ASUS Xonar HDAV1.3 Deluxe 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Express x1 Interface Audio/Video Enhancement Combo Card

Pros: -Bitstreaming works with little setup in TMT3, I suggest upgrading to Arcsoft's latest version for new features -HDMI audio for those who don't own an ATI video card that does it

Cons: -Price (it is expensive for an _audio_ card but not many other options) -Foibles in their ASUS audio control software

Overall Review: I was a PowerDVD 8 user with an ATI 4850 doing audio over HDMI but I really wanted Bitstreaming so I bought TMT3 Platinum first to see if I liked it, I uninstalled PowerDVD within the hour. So now that I knew I could work with TMT I bought the Xonar for bitstreaming and it ways a quick straightforward setup. Works great, 1080/24p, DTS-MA, DD-HD etc. However I gave it 4 stars because of a couple annoyances. The audio software from ASUS that you use to manage the card isn't very robust. Normally I'd let that slide but its missing core features like you can't set audio settings to the analog section independently of the HDMI section. Like say setting the analog out to be 2.1 stereo and the HDMI out to be 7.1 surround. Same for bass management. Also while it works great in TMT3 for detecting audio formats (DTS/DD) I'm having problems getting it to recognize DD from HD programs in VMC. I'm sure time will fix these problems. Overall its worth buying.

This is good software

CyberLink PowerDVD Ultra 7
CyberLink PowerDVD Ultra 7

Pros: BluRay and HD-DVD support both via the actual discs or from isos on your hard drive, decodes the latest HD audio formats, works well, good support.

Cons: Downconverts the latest HD audio formats to 16/48, cannot play HD formats from folders on hard drive, only ISOs

Overall Review: I really like this software, yes it has some flaws in the area of HD audio but besides that its a solid product (hence the 4 stars not 5). The one time I required support I called them (on a sunday) and got a real live person in Bloomington, MN and they helped me solve the issue. I don't understand why its getting such crummy reviews here, especially when its pretty much the only real option for HD video on a PC.
