eats macbook pros for breakfast..
Pros: Great price Excellent build quality Very light Quiet Powerful
Cons: prone to dust, should've been offered with an SSD at this price
Overall Review: Ok, so i bought this laptop with next to no research aside from viewing and comparing its specs to other laptops in the same price range. Ultimately, even though this laptop didn't have any reviews. I decided to take the plunge and pick it up, and I have to say I'm everything but disappointed. In fact, I'm impressed. My last notebook was a 17 inch vaio back in 2013 and that thing was a powerhouse, but weighed a ton. this little guy trumps the vaio all day. I got the version with an HDD & 8GB of RAM, and it still performs very well. I'm an illustrator/designer by trade so i needed to get something that could put with with adobe's software demands, and ofcourse needed that extra power to get my gameage on too every now and then. I was considering a macbook, but felt like it was a waste of money just to pay my "cult entrance fee" and get Sh*fted in the end financially. during my time of ownership, i've had only two small gripes. (and i'm just being picky) first one, the inside material that surrounds the keyboard wears dust like it's going out of fashion, i just clean it once a day. But man, really? My second gripe is the HDD, I feel like Acer could've definitely thrown an SSD in this puppy at this price. But hey i just got a 6th gen i7 quadcore laptop with a 4GB 960m graphics card, if i'm complaining about SSDs and dust, there's something wrong with me.
Redemption process doesn't work on Firefox!
Pros: - Free Games!
Cons: -Doesn't work with Firefox!
Overall Review: The website used to redeem the rewards doesn't seem to behave correctly if you're using Firefox. Upon visiting the website... You're told to setup an account, once you do that you're told you'll get an email. Just a heads up, the email goes to your junk. You have to click the link in that email to activate your account, but rather than Firefox keeping you logged in - you have to login again just to activate your account.. we're not even at entering the coupon code yet.... Upon attempting to login you're told you can't login because there have been too many login attempts (even if this is only the second attempt and the first attempt was successful?) At this point i switched browsers to Spartan... Once successfully activating your account it then finally asks you to enter the coupon code. Then you have to download an app to verify your graphics card is installed... then that app sends you back to the website to confirm you're verified and eventually you can activate and link your key(s) to your steam account. Stoked for Dead Island 2, the first one was great!
Beep, beep boop.
Pros: - 32 in. - 1080p AND 4K - Really nice picture - Lots of features! (Finetuning picture adjustment, crosshair, etc.) - Got it on sale for $200 shipped to my front door - Lots of refresh rate options (up to 165hz!)
Cons: The stand - not much room for adjustment out of the box.
Overall Review: It shows a nice picture, has a lot of cool features and even plays songs when it turns on and off. Got it on sale too. No complaints so far after two weeks of ownership other than the stand. Which is honestly irrelevant long term for me, as Im just going to get an arm for it anyways. So whatever. All in an all, I feel like I made a good choice with this monitor.
Awesome card!
Pros: - Quiet - Affordable - Powerful
Overall Review: I've had this card for about three weeks now. Originally, I was a little curious to see how this would perform, as in the past I'd ran exclusively NVidia cards in my builds. But man! This card is wonderful! At first I had some hiccups because I had failed to update the drivers. But even then, I was still playing AC Oddessy and all of my other favorites at max settings in HD. After updating drivers though, I finally got the full experience this baby delivers! The intention for pickin' this bad boy up was to aid in my job as an illustrator/designer and content creator - and this did not disappoint! I'm able to render videos, create and manipulate vector graphics and even compile animations simultaneously without even a single indicator that the card is getting stressed! Like seriously, smooth as silk! I was very surprised at how quickly I blew through rendering a video within Adobe Premiere. Wait times for me, I guess are thing of the past! I am definitely impressed and will not hesitate to recommend this card for both gaming AND a professional setting! All for under $300 too?! No brainer! AMD and ASRock delivered! Couldn't be happier.
Ah! Satisfaction!
Pros: - Bluetooth - Hot Swap - Backlit - All 104 keys, with media keys! - Option for wired - Super satisfying switches out of the box! - Option to switch to MAC mode, with the flick of a switch!
Cons: - Dim Backlight? - No Purple RGB out of the box.**
Overall Review: heheh. I hate to do it, but this just takes the cake! Typing this review on this wild slab right meow and man if you couldn't tell - it's quite enjoyable! This is my first time with gateron blues, and I'm definitely a fan.. my last mech kb had browns and made you feel like you were battling each different key simultaneously with how hard you had to press them! But hey, some people like that sort of thing. So if you do, get gateron browns! Moving onward! Honestly, it's exactly what you'd expect, 104keys, hot-swappable. Cool backlights, Bluetooth or wired, mac or windows! Keys for all of the aforementioned too! I did have some things I did want to address though... They're not concerns really, or even bothersome. Initially, the backlighting on this keyboard seemed a little dim, but after a couple of weeks, I don't find that to be true anymore. My only other mention-worthy comment would be that - there's no purple backlighting option "out of the box" I believe this can be corrected with some software modifications. However, I haven't looked into it yet. All keycaps are swappable with (I'm assuming) pretty much anything that fits their switches! Bottom line? If you want that mechanical experience, with the tried and true Bluetooth, hot-swap capability, a full Number pad, and a slew of other wonderful options too! This is the keyboard for you! My goal was for this to be the last keyboard I'll ever buy and I feel I've accomplished that! So, it's five stars out of me!
Great mouse, sets the standard.
Pros: -Ergonomics -Weight -Extra Buttons -Infinite Scroll!! -Wireless Bluetooth
Cons: Price?
Overall Review: It's a great mouse. $100 is the most I've ever spent on a mouse, but as a graphic designer; it takes the cake. Not too bad for RPG gaming.. no FPS tests yet.. will update later. Bottom line, $100 might be alot right now for some but I'm frugal, don't make crazy money and could easily justify the cost based upon productivity enhancement alone. Before even getting into the fact that it's just a real nice mouse! Borrow a friend's first then see if it works for you!! If it makes sense financially and you have realistic expectations - it won't disappoint!
