Nice Budget CPU

Intel Celeron G1610 - Celeron Ivy Bridge Dual-Core 2.6 GHz LGA 1155 55W Desktop Processor - BX80637G1610
Intel Celeron G1610 - Celeron Ivy Bridge Dual-Core 2.6 GHz LGA 1155 55W Desktop Processor - BX80637G1610

Pros: Built my grandma a computer with this CPU. Good price and very good value for it's performance. Perfect for web browsing and watching videos. This is all she needed it for and it keeps up without a sweat.

Cons: I won't knock off an egg but for some reason I couldn't get the Intel HD drivers installed correctly. It shows a yellow exclamation in the device manager. So I tried downloading the latest driver from Intel and it said something like the computer doesn't meet the requirements. So Windows installed the generic drivers and it doesn't get the transparent effect. Not a big deal since she doesn't care for that.

Overall Review: Parts I used for this build: Celeron G1610 MSI H61M-P31/W8 2GB Adata XPG DDR3 1600Mhz Antec Earthwatts 380w PSU Gigabyte Case GZ-F3HEB

Solid PSU

Rosewill RG630-S12 - Green Series 630-Watt Active PFC Power Supply Unit - Continuous @ 104 Deg. F (40C), 80 PLUS Bronze Certified, Single 12V Rail, Compatible with Core i7, i5

Pros: This power supply is the best I ever purchased. I don't have to hook a multi-meter to see if my computer is getting proper power. No sir! I can feel it! Even though this is what most would call a budget power supply, I feel like there's a $150 PSU sitting in my case.

Cons: I am the con. For not buying this years ago and wasting money on other power supplies that failed just out of their warranty date.

Overall Review: Running a FX-8120 @ 4.7GHZ and a GTX 470 @ stock.

Cool

LOGISYS Computer MC6002GS 120mm Hydro Gamer Storm Intel/AMD CPU Cooling
LOGISYS Computer MC6002GS 120mm Hydro Gamer Storm Intel/AMD CPU Cooling

Pros: I purchased one of these by the name of "Deepcool" which is essentially the same heat sink. I got mine from geeks for $27.99 so I could not pass up 6 heat pipes for that deal. I put my own fans on it for extra cooling. I use a FX-8120 that runs at 4.5.ghz 1.5v and my temps have never exceeded 60c. I used the thermal paste that comes in this. This is a great heat sink that performs very well!

Cons: I didn't run into any.

Overall Review: I should of bought them all from geeks and resold them for profit.

Negative Reviews

AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0 GHz (4.2 GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W FD8350FRHKBOX Desktop Processor

Pros: People who do not own this processor shouldn't give it negative reviews. That is not fair at all. A review should be about this product and only this product, saying Intel has "faster" processors for only $30 more isn't a review. Makes you sound like you are brainwashed by Intel to promote them. Who knows you are probably a bunch of middle school kids who have no sense in computer technology. Instead of using the hardware yourself you just go research benchmarks and think you know everything about it. Unless you own the product personally you have no business writing a review about it.

Cons: Windows 8 ;-)

Overall Review: I'm going to buy this processor in a month or two. My review will cover a wide depth of programs.

2 years later....

APEVIA ATX-AS680W-BL 680 W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready Power Supply
APEVIA ATX-AS680W-BL 680 W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready Power Supply

Pros: Where to begin? Lengthy cables, aluminum shell, more than enough molex cables, and some cool blue fans. More importantly is how it copes with hardware. I've owned this for 2 years, my first PC it was powering, 4 hdd's, a Phenom II x4 820, 5 fans, 2 dvd roms, 4 sticks of ram, and a HD 4890 GPU. I took it a bit further and now it's powering AMD FX-8120@ 4.8ghz, 6 hdd, 6 120mm fans, 2 HD 4850's, and 4 sticks of ram. For all the reviewers who say this thing catches on fire, why hasn't mine? My computers are always on as well.

Cons: Some people told me this power supply sucks. That it doesn't deliver its rated power, neither do a large portion of the 80+ psu's. Not everyone wants to pay a pretty penny for the more known expensive brands. In the end brand doesn't matter, every piece of hardware you buy has a chance of failing.

Overall Review: Wanted the Iceberg :(

Great Board!

ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 + SB 950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 + SB 950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Pros: One of the best motherboards I have used. Got my FX-8120 to 4.8ghz and the board still works! Love that I can now use my mouse in the bios. Even mixed different branded ram together and not a single BSOD, computer has been running for more than a month. Solid motherboard indeed, works much better than I even hoped for.

Cons: No IDE port. I had to hook up my DVD drive to a IDE to USB to install Windows. It's about time I go 100% SATA anyways.

Overall Review: Found a refurbished 990 board for $60 one week after I bought this refurbished for $50.
