Pros: After using it for some time, I purchased a 2nd camera to increase my coverage. Tech support was great. Brian gained control of my desktop and after a few minutes of camera setting inputs, both cameras are working together happily. The night vision is also good.
Cons: My first camera has ~7 dead pixels, two red and the rest white. It was also out of focus. I simply turn the lens knob to get a better image. I did not use any of the included S/W. I downloaded the Fosam IP Camera Tool app which I find simpler and faster. That app gives me all the camera controls and ability to record motion activated videos directly onto the HD.
Overall Review: I would recommend buying more than one camera and use at least a dual core PC. I also utilize TrendNet IP N cameras but I find Zmodo to have more capabilities with higher value for my security needs.
Could Have Been so Much Better
Pros: Got this in a G.SKill 4GB/Mobo combo at a great price but ..
Cons: This mobo is a MSI product placement mistake. It has a lot of the goodies like SB850 and NEC USB 3.0 but comes equipped with only has 4 phase power for the CPU which limits this board to no end. Lets say each phase is ~30W, 4x30=120W. If you were to use a 125W quad, OC'ing will raise the wattage to >170W. Now what? why are the two AUX fan headers right next to each other?? With the northbridge handling the graphics, it gets VERY hot. The plastic push pin chipset coolers are just poor.
Overall Review: I had a very difficult time setting this thing up. It kept on hanging even with known good working HW that I was transferring. The board requires lots of manual BIOS adjustments to get it running. I suspect this board is being phased out. Get the newer 880GMA-E55 instead. It has ALL the corrections that I mentioned above at about the same price.
Thinklux 40W LED Light Bulbs
Pros: So far, so good. Using 4 bulbs replacing the existing fixtures. Cool to the touch, seems well made. I also bought the 60W model.
Cons: None so far. Time will tell how long they will last.
Overall Review: Longevity is the only question that only time can answer. Didn't check the electric bill but they are cool to the touch so I can assume little energy is lost to heat.
Incompatible w/Lenovo T410
Pros: Inexpensive for 2x8 GB kit.
Cons: Just installed into a Lenovo T410 with the latest BIOS. Windows hangs. Prior 4GB seems to be fine. Can't even install new OS'es with Win7 or Linux. MEMTEST won't run either. These are high density chipset (Micron?). Too late to return.
Initial Impression is +
Pros: High quality construction and built quality. The polished stainless inner pot is cladded at the bottom for even heat distribution. Did my first beef roast and the cooking time was ~1 hour instead of the normal 3-4 hours braising at the stove. Added too much liquid but it is a learning process with a pressure cooker.
Cons: LED control is not intuitive. It doesn't really indicate what stage of cooking it is at. You will need to experiment with this cooker (time, settings, liquid, recipes ..) to get the most out of it. Pressing the TEXTURE button seems to only increase the cooking time. Would like to know besides time, does the cooker adjust temperature and pressure with each setting because they can impact the result (too high a temperature makes the meat tougher). One issue is, the box is not taped closed while being shipped. Please, tape the box shut for rough transits.
Overall Review: A must have in every (modern) kitchen. I am satisfied with the purchase so far. This seems to be Gen-X of Tatung/Generic pressure cookers with some positive improvements. Lets just hope this cooker lasts. Never, EVER use cookware with TFE coating. I use nothing but stainless steel, cast iron or porcelain, not even AL.
Nice Qualtiy and Construction
Pros: High quality materials and construction. Even the batteries were name brand, proven quality Copper Tops.
Cons: A bit expensive when not on sale.
Overall Review: Not sure how long the push button micros-witch will last. I always have issues with those on these kind of lights.
