Pros: Stable and cool from day one with 24/7 O/C of 4.6. Have experienced none of the issues the negative reviews mention.
Cons: None for me...does exactly what I need it to do.
Overall Review: ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming 6
Core i5 9600K
G. Skill Trident Z 3200 16GB
Samsung 970 EVO M.2 500GB
2 x Samsung 850 EVO SSD 1TB
GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1070 Ti
Pros: Compact...take it anywhere. Capable everyday family PC. Better than Smart TV browsers (ugh). Definitely not for anything but the lightest gaming use. It's perfect for the purpose I bought it...slap it on the back of the TV and who cares if the kids hose it...it was only a couple of hundred bucks....and now I don't need to use my TV's not-so-Smart features.
Cons: Not really a con for my usage, BUT....the mSATA expansion slot is SATA II 3Gbps, not SATA III 6Gbps. So don't bother splurging on the fastest mSATA SSd out there. Even a low end one will saturate the connection and have a speed cap about half what it would be on SATA III.
Overall Review: I'll bet this would make for a very snappy Linux system, though I haven't tried a distro on it yet.
Pros: Excellent build quality. Very well thought out case. Very quiet case and virtually dust free. I have had the case since Feb 2015 and there is next to no dust in the case. I moved the included rear fan to the front to have a matched set and mounted a 120mm rad in push-pull on the back. Case pressure must be just right. Nice, effective fan filters too. Good airflow helps to keep CPU and GPU's running cool. 4690k @ 4.4 GHz idles in the high 20's, never went o over 62 C during stress test. I don't use the fan mounts on top...don't need them.
Overall Review: My brother bought the newer R5 which has a few nice improvements. Fractal has some nice understated designs.
Pros: Silent as the grave. Perfect for 1080p gaming. Runs very cool even with fans stopped. More connection port options than other 960's. Blue led Windforce logo suits a blue-themed build in a windowed case.
Cons: None for me...if I gamed beyond 1080p it might be inadequate for some titles.
Overall Review: Don't let the 128bit bus fool you...this thing has plenty of juice for 1080p on high, or in many games ultra settings. Are there cheaper gpu's with similar performance? Sure...but you will not find any as quiet as this unless it's another GTX 960. Bear in mind that this is a looooooong card due to the huge heatsink and triple fans (overkill really), but imho it's a beautiful monstrosity. I am completely satisfied with performance, build quality, and looks.
Pros: Faster than fast. Delivers close to advertised speeds. Cloning software is simple...worked without a hitch. Magician software is good. Overprovisioning and tweaking the drive to my needs/wants was easy. There are no skulls or dragons or demons or ugly graphics on the drive case.
Cons: None I can think of...unless you want another case badge (not included).
Overall Review: Cloned my old Samsung 830 128gb to this and paired it with a new Z97 board and 4690K. Screaming fast... Just pull the trigger...you won't regret it (unless you put it on Mom's credit card without asking).
Pros: Tiny, Fast, Just plain works seamlessly with my LG G2. Download a couple of movies to the stick and I'm ready for a long flight. Connection to phone is extemely tight and I prefer it that way...won't get bumped loose or wobble and screw up the port.
Cons: None so far...does just what I bought it for.
Pros: Nice bass response
Nice cord cover
Wood housing is cool
Cons: Volume controls don't work with Android
Overall Review: Quality earbuds...I couldn't tell the difference in sound between these and my brother's "K" brand that cost 3 times as much. The volume controls won't work with Android like most 3 button earbud sets, but I knew that going in and don't care about that. Headset controller apps usually don't work...depends on the phone manufacturer. Usually you have to have buds that are made for the phone for 3 button controls to work.
Pros: Worked for 3 months
Cons: Died after 3 months
Overall Review: This is a relabeled Seagate Barracuda Green...made in China. Samsung doesn't make mechanical drives any more. Seagate bought them out. Should have known better.
Pros: 40% performance boost in my setup
Cons: None for me
Overall Review: Was getting 220 MB/sec transfer rate, now it's 365 MB/sec. For those who understand such things there's a caveat: With most motherboards, if you have only one PCI-E 2.0 slot populated with a graphics card, the bandwidth will be x16. If you populate the 2nd slot, both slots will have bandwidth of x8. That is how I'm running. If I had a chip with onboard graphics and had only Velocity solo populating a PCI-E 2.0 slot, it would be running at x16 and I would no doubt get a transfer rate better than my current 365MB/sec. Since I'm no gamer and my graphics card is fine running x8, it was worth the small investment. I did not need to clone my drive since I already had an SSD boot drive (Samsung 830 128GB). Just unplugged the storage drive, booted up and Windows 7 recognized it immediately.
Pros: Great power supply...maintains efficiency at load. Excellent cables...perfect length for my needs.
Cons: Misrepresented as an 80 plus gold supply...it's really a silver, at least in the U.S. Their testing is done in Germany with 230v which is more efficient and they test with ambient temp at 23C which is not realistic, so their tests are skewed.
Overall Review: Given to me as a gift so I'm not complaining. It's way better than the one it replaced. If they billed this as an 80 plus silver I would give it 5 eggs.
Pros: Big, oven works well.
Cons: Metal strip on handle, door spring breaks.
Overall Review: Metal strip on handle gets very hot...watch it! Door spring broke in half after 6 months. Door will slam onto counter if I'm not careful. This is a large unit...maybe too big for kitchens with limited counter space.
Pros: Looks nice
Cons: Poorly made. Did not operate as advertised when it worked at all. Dead optical port. Whole unit fried in 2 weeks.
Overall Review: Don't waste you time and money. Save for something better.
Pros: Easy backup of your precious data to a drive(s) that can then be stored in a safe location. Easy clone of C drive to reduce the likelihood of a Windows reinstall...who wants to reinstall all those updates or the apps it took you a week to configure the way you wanted them. Portable should the need arise and accepts 2.5" drives. Solid construction was impressive...it's got some weight to it.
Cons: 1. At first bios recognized drive, but Windows 7 did not. Downloaded driver (INI_FCFG_V03.14A05) from manufacturer's website and this solved the issue.
2. Rebate...I hate these rebate offers. They put you through a big rigmarole to redeem them, and then you wait months to get your money...if you ever do get it. Only 3 out of the 5 rebates I've taken advantage of have been honored. This is not the fault of Newegg (great company, great customer service) or the manufacturer, but the 3rd party companies responsible for honoring the rebates.
Overall Review: There was a man from Nantucket...
Pros: Good unit. Very stable voltages on all lines. Enough juice for all but the highest end vid cards or SLI / Crossfire. Good length on the cables for most applications. Nice fit and finish on the construction. Quiet enough for the HTPC I put it in. I've used these in 3 builds with no issues.
Cons: None in my book. Perfect for the right computer.
Overall Review: If you're not spending over $800 on a build and can't afford that other brand all the techies recommend, this is a good choice. Just stay within its limits and it will serve you well.
Pros: Perfect card for the computer in my mother's bedroom. Momma ain't be playin' video games. Didn't even bother adding a "silent" fan to blow on it. It wasn't necessary. The hottest it's been for what she does (movies mostly and it renders them beautifully) is 53C. Idles at 38C. Good, solid low-end card.
Cons: None if you don't get silly and expect too much from it.
Overall Review: Mom won't leave the bedroom to make dinner.
