Good PCI-E 1394a solution

Rosewill RC-504 - PCIe FireWire 1394a Card - 2 + 1-Port (Two External + One Internal)
Rosewill RC-504 - PCIe FireWire 1394a Card - 2 + 1-Port (Two External + One Internal)

Pros: Small, efficient design accommodates half-height expansion slots. Internal and external 1394 ports provide flexibility and supplemental power port accommodates power-hungry devices. Native PCI-E chipset (VIA VT6315N) takes advantage of PCI-E capabilities to unload the PCI bus for high-bandwidth DMA transfers.

Cons: Only minor, but there is no header for front-panel 1394 ports. Otherwise a perfect solution for adding 1394 to your PC.

Overall Review: Another low-cost, high-quality product from Rosewill. Another efficient purchasing experience with Newegg!

Nice reader, if a little odd

Kingston FCR-HS219/1 19-in-1 USB 2.0 Card Reader
Kingston FCR-HS219/1 19-in-1 USB 2.0 Card Reader

Pros: Works as advertised, with dedicated slots for the amazing shrinking SD form factors (mini, micro) a big plus, as I otherwise had to carry around one of those crazy adapter cards. Transfers are super-fast with CF, SD and MS. I haven't tried the SM slot.

Cons: Though the core of the unit is solidly built, the outer-enclosure-retractable-via-red-indian-head contraption is a little awkward. Once you get over the novelty, all it really does is double the volume the reader occupies in my bag without really adding anything in terms of protection or functionality. The core unit can be removed, but requires electrical tape or something similar to cover some exposed PCB. -1 egg for the annoygonomic design.

Overall Review: None

Handy little reader

Rosewill RCR-IC001 - 3.5" Internal 40-in-1 Card Reader with USB 2.0 Port & Extra Silver Face Plate
Rosewill RCR-IC001 - 3.5" Internal 40-in-1 Card Reader with USB 2.0 Port & Extra Silver Face Plate

Pros: Well-built internal reader for the price. No-hassle installation using a front-panel usb header on the motherboard, using one port for the readers and handily exposing the second on the front face. The extra silver faceplate matched my case perfectly.

Cons: None

Overall Review: As with many modern N-in-1 readers, this one leaves xD (the Olympus form factor) in the dust. Oh well, nothing's perfect...

Excellent Bang for the Buck

AMD Phenom 9600 Agena 2.3GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 2MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+ 95W Quad-Core Processor

Pros: Fast, Quad-Core, Cheap

Cons: None

Overall Review: Mine is finicky about running DDR2 1066 memory at full speed. It works like a charm and is still blazing-fast at DDR2 800, so this didn't even giet filed as a con
