Thermaltake Contac Silent 12 150W INTEL/AMD with AM4 Support 120mm PWM CPU Cooler CL-P039-AL12BL-A

Pros: - 29C Idle 52 under load (Hwmonitor -Prime95/Aida64) stock @ 25C ambient temp (haven't tried overclocking yet) - Much cooler than the Wraith Spire that came with my Ryzen 1600 - Very quiet - when I ramp it to full RPMs I can barely notice a difference - Can easily accept any 120mm PWM fan of your choice (although the included fan is great) - Slighter shorter and wider than most tower coolers so ram interference will not be an issue - Nice thermal mass to the heatsink. Combined with the CFM output of the fan at full RPM, you should be able to overclock to some degree - Inexpensive. I've paid more for coolers that seem to do less.

Cons: - Fan brackets can be fiddly if you've never used the style before. I didn't have any problems with them, as I've used these types of clips before.

Overall Review: Never mind all of the people complaining about having to use pliers to install this thing. I've been building systems since before the Pentium days and have installed many coolers of this style. If you follow the directions carefully and use common sense, it's one of the easiest to install coolers that I've come across. Trust me on this one - it took all of about 3 minutes to get the whole thing together and mounted onto my motherboard. Pliers are absolutely not necessary. If it doesn't snap into place with gently force, then you're doing something wrong!!! I will update this review if I decide to overclock. My temps read differently with HWMonitor, AIDA64, and Ryzen Master, so I reported the highest (HWMonitor). Overall, this is a great cooler and I would say that it's about equal to Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO, but with a profile that allows for more clearance on the motherboard. If you want a cheap upgrade over the stock cooler, definitely pick this one up.

Much faster than expected...

WD Black 512GB Performance SSD - M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive - WDS512G1X0C
WD Black 512GB Performance SSD - M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive - WDS512G1X0C

Pros: - Faster than SATA SSDs - Amazing Windows 10 boot times using Asrock Taichi 370X and Ryzen 1600 - Fantastic price for this speed of drive - Worked great out of the box

Cons: - Slower than most PCIe NVMe SSDs - Blue PCB could have been black

Overall Review: I bought this SSD knowing full well of its speed limitations when compared to other PCIe NVMe drives. I had been using a Samsung 850 EVO SATA SSD before this and the speed difference is HUGE. I'm getting 3 x the read speed and 2 x the write speed. Slower than other PCIe SSDs? Probably, sure... but it's also a lot cheaper! If you're looking for something faster than a standard SATA SSD but don't want to plunk down $300 to get it - this is your answer. Windows 10 takes 6 seconds to boot up and I/O operations are barely noticeable. I would do it all over again.
