Pros: Angled design allows more air to flow under the laptop.
The dual fans bring in air from the outside and have kept my laptop ~5 degrees cooler than before.
The fans are QUIET, I don't even notice them unless I'm trying to hear them. My laptop runs louder than the fans do.
It's padded so you can put it on your lap.
Cons: I took away an egg because the fans are placed in the middle of the cooling pad. If your graphics card and processor aren't in the middle of your laptop (mine are on the left) then you may need to reposition your laptop so the fans keep it cool.
During normal use my laptop runs at 45-50 C. When I play games it reaches 70 C. The only time I need to reposition the laptop is during gaming so if you're not a gamer, you won't have a problem.
The rubber stoppers that come with the chill mat are utterly useless. I don't use them and my laptop doesn't slide off.
Overall Review: HP Pavilion dv6700t
Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz
2 gigs RAM
GeForce 8400 M GS
Pros: 1. Excellent accuracy and mouse pointer speed
3. small size
4. the size of the receiver is really small and fits neatly into the mouse
5. batteries last a long time (2 AAA generic batteries last a few months, depending on usage)
6. good for gaming b/c of the precision
7. the middle mouse button has 2 ways to scroll:
a) "free spinning" in which the wheel spins based on how hard you spin it; great for long web pages and lengthy documents. VERY SENSITIVE!
b) press the middle mouse button until it 'clicks' and it scrolls like a standard wheel mouse. great for shorter documents.
8. travel pouch is cool
9. software is intuitive, tells you how many days you have left on your mouse's batteries (approximately)
10. forward/back buttons are awesome, i don't know how i navigated web pages before them
11. document flip button is very convenient
Overall Review: approx size: 3.75" long x 2" wide x 1.25" high at back. not as huge as a desktop mouse and that's what kind of worried me, but the size is just perfect and i have big hands.
Pros: Huge for mid-tower
Comes w/ screws and extra mounting brackets but i didn't need to use them.
the no-screw holds for the optical drives, expansions slots, and hard drives are amazingly simple and quick.
the hard drive trays are probably the nicest thing this case has, you literally put the hard drive in a tray shut it, latch it and that's it. it's locked in place and doesn't move.
the airflow in this case is very efficient. air comes through the front mesh through the front 120mm fan, and out the back 120mm fan. there's also a 230mm side fan that blows air across the mobo and a mesh vent on top of the case that helps cool the PSU.
no screw side door is easy to open and close.
perpendicular HDD trays are brilliant and allow less cable clutter over the mobo. for me this means less clutter over the memory slots.
temps for my 2 internal HDD's, CPU, GPU, & mobo decreased by 8-10 degrees from my previous case.
comes w/ a nice dust cloth
love the bad english transl
Cons: i put my 3.5" SILVERSTONE SST-FP32-B Aluminum USB/1394/Audio Panel in the lone 3.5" external spot in this case, but it was a tight fight. i had to push a little but it went in and is held securely. this is a minor gripe and could have been the dimensions of the SILVERSTONE were slightly larger.
not really sure about the toolbox yet, it seems to be a good idea but i have several shoeboxes that have all my extra cables in so i probably won't use it. the toolbox tray (under the toolbox door) can be removed but that just leaves a hole under the toolbox door.
Overall Review: plenty of room for all my gear (in the case):
ASUS P5N32E SLI Plus LGA 775 nForce 650i
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4 GHz
Kingston HyperX 4GB DDR2 800MHz
Antec TruePower Trio 550W
XFX GeForce 8600GTS 256MB 128bit GDDR3 PCIex16
Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi XtremeGamer
DVICO Fusion HDTV7 Dual Express TV Tuner PCIex1
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB Internal
Samsung SpinPoint T-Series 500GB Internal
Fantom G-Force 500GB eSATA External
LG 22X SATA GH22NS30 DVD Burner
Samsung 22X SATA SH-S223Q DVD Burner w/Lightscribe
Kingwin 15" eSATA Bracket
Pros: Excellent HD reception w/ cable
Can easily record 2 shows at once
Remote is well-laid out w/ lots of buttons
Recording scheduler is really easy to use
DTV ready for Feb 2009
Has one coax jack on the card but can record 2 channels through it
Records shows in .tp format which are uncompressed and can easily fill up HD. 1 hour 480i recorded ~1 gig
No driver problems in XP Pro SP2
Cons: Haven't figured out the picture in picture function but that isn't a big deal for me
Included converter software sucks. Use AutoGordianKnot and it will convert it perfectly (freeware)
Would've preferred the ability to open up the recording scheduler without having to load the main app
Overall Review: Don't use analog right now but it works when i tried it and pulled in more channels
Actually bought it on another site back in July before Newegg had it (checked here first)
For only ~$139 it's the best tuner you can get
Pros: i've got 2 of these fans and they help keep my case nice and cool. a nice blue glow, too.
Cons: no connector for the mobo, only a power connector. a real bummer if you like to monitor your fan speeds through your mobo, but they work excellent.
Overall Review: these 2 are part of my 5 case fan cooling system. w/ my xfx 8600gts graphics card, intel core 2 duo e6600 2.4 ghz, and 2 large sata drives, they keep the air moving so the parts don't overheat.
Pros: quick to install, fast, and tons of room for the price!
Overall Review: best buy for your money
Pros: audio and mic jacks are very nice (i play lots of games). if you have a lot of usb things to plug in like controllers or flash drives, the 4 usb ports are nice.
Overall Review: its 14 gw's ($14) and works!
Pros: i have 2 of these things plus another side panel fan and the case stays around 37 C under full load (bf2, cod2, half-life 2, etc).
Cons: ppl may complain about noise but i dont think its loud at all. it makes a little noise but what do you expect from a fan?
Overall Review: its 4 bucks!
Pros: plenty of connectors. this unit is able to regulate the speed of up to 2 case fans so the case remains the right temp. easy to install.
Overall Review: sli ready and good price.
Pros: its fast! and w/ 2 gigs to play w/ my games never run out of resources, even when burning something w/ nero. both sticks arrived intact and working properly. im not an overclocker so i havnt changed the default settings but its still fast.
Overall Review: seagate 7200.10 320gig SATA 3.0gb/s, intel e6600 2.4 ghz, asus p5n32e sli plus, xfx geforce 8600gts 256mb, xfi xtremegamer
Pros: EAX for games is incredible, makes movies and music sound noticeably better. theres a front panel spot on the card to connect the front audio and mic jacks for us lan party ppl - pretty sweet if you ask me. eax even works for my standard sony headphones that are about 4 yrs old!
Cons: switching b/t modes is kind of annoying, there should be an option to automatically switch b/t modes when a certain program is launched.
Overall Review: i recommend getting at least a 5.1 speaker system to fully appreciate this card. i have the logitech x530.
Pros: this thing is fast! moving large files only takes a few seconds!
Cons: remember to take the jumper off the back of the drive before you use it or it will be running at 1.5 gb/s instead of 3.0 gb/s.
Overall Review: it's a sweet drive at a very good price.
Pros: cooling system is amazing, mobo stays around 35 C or lower during games! plenty of slots for expansion cards (including enough space if u want to sli). manual is very helpful.
Cons: usb drivers and apps on cd didnt install right. had to use the search for drivers wizard to get the usb 2.0 working. apps like pc probe or asus update didnt launch when i opened them. mayb i hav a bad cd but dont let this influence your decision b/c there are updated versions of everything at asus.com.
Pros: cranked the graphics to max on half-life 2, supreme commander, and command and conquer 3 and the detail is incredible! smooth frames rates and no lagging!
Cons: maybe the 128 bit and the 256 megs of memory but the way this thing handles games w/ no problems, it doesnt seem to matter.
Overall Review: intel e6600 2.4 ghz, kingston hyperx 2gigs ddr2 800 dual channel, asus p5-n32 e sli plus, xfi xtreme gamer
Pros: this thing flies! i can multitask w/ games now, having one minimized while i burn a cd or dvd and have plenty of processing power left!
Overall Review: best deal for the money
Pros: Excellent sound especially with my soundblaster live 24bit sound card. Watching movies, playing games, and listening to music sounds so clear. EAX for these speakers make it sound so real. Booming bass for only 70 Watts!
Overall Review: If you're looking for affordable, great-sounding 5.1 speakers, then get these! These are the best sounding speakers for the price.
