A functional fan after it is installed.
Pros: - Relatively powerful for an eighty millimeter fan; two dropped my inherent internal case temperature by ten degrees. - The glow; as noted by other reviewers, is truly sinister. - The fans generate generally little noise.
Cons: - One of the two purchased fans contained plastic holes that did not allow for the screws to be fully installed.
Overall Review: If you wish to increase the aesthetic value of your case without spending more than twelve dollars, a set of two of these fans will add a hellish red glow to your computer.
I retract a previous rating.
Pros: Quite fast for the time that it worked; although it did eventually slow down. Very cheap for the original purchase price; and even moreso now. Very reliable drive. Nice aesthetics.
Cons: Failure-like symptoms after about a year. See Other Thoughts. Mounting bracket is oddly-shaped (although I suppose this is an issue with all solid state drives). Random freezing often occurred (this may not be related to the drive but rather software such as Steam)
Overall Review: I woke up one morning and noticed that my hard drive had frozen. When I restarted my computer; I noticed that I was missing a critical Windows file. I looked at the drive on one of my other installations and noticed that it was zero bytes in size; which led me to believe that the SATA cables were not in place correctly. However; for the past two days I have had to reposition and replace the SATA cables and run scans of the drive in order to allow it to start up; which can remain stable from anywhere between two to eight hours before losing its data and becoming unusable. I am unaware of the cause of this issue as I have less experience with drives than any other component (I still use a seven-year-old Hitachi drive for storage), but I would assume that the hard disk is failing. Now I have to back up all of my critical data and send the drive in; which is unfortunate as it is my primary storage device.
Did not receive factory overclocked version.
Pros: The GTX 670 itself is powerful.
Cons: I did not receive the proper version of this card.
Overall Review: When I received this card; I was aware that I were soon to encounter trouble. The box said 'ASUS GTX 670 DirectCU II', without the 'TOP' branding. I decided to open the box and check the card. GPU-Z, however; stated that I was indeed running the overclocked version. However, upon running multiple tests; it proved to be unstable at the aforementioned overclock; and unable to play any of my games or benchmarks. I have tried the latest NVIDIA beta drivers to no avail to my issue. I am extremely disappointed with ASUS; as I replaced my GTX 560 Ti; which albeit not overclocked; at least ran when I purchased it.
Pros: - Quite fast. - Simplistic installation. - Fantastic aesthetic design on the drive. - Considerably increased the inherent frame rate in many of my games.
Cons: - As is true with most solid state drives; the maximum speeds to which are advertised are never reached.
Overall Review: Despite the fact that I am yet to achieve speeds as advertised; the speed increase from an aging, five year old hard disk was well worth $160 dollars.
