No problems

Pros: SATA connection and OEM which means you supply your own software and cables. No firmware update was needed for my W7 instalation.
Cons: none (OEM is not a limitation, but rather it is a description of what is being offered.) If you don't have software or cables, then don't order OEM.
Overall Review: Burned a CD and DVD after I installed it. No problems at all using 8X burning rate for the DVD. My media limited the speed, not the DVDRW. I checked the Samsung website, and there is no firmware update needed.
Terrible customer service

Pros: Cheap board and works for most people who use it. Asus is very consistent regarding their terrible customer service. If it works, it's great. If not, don't call Asus.
Cons: Start up issues. This may or may not affect your build, but if it does, Asus will not help.
Overall Review: Asus is known for good products and BAD (not poor) customer service. While Asus pays some troll to give sophormoric responses in Newegg reviews, the company has absolutely no committment to adequate customer support. After 10 years using many many Asus products, I and other professional users know this from experience. My simple inquiry to the startup problem to this board has been ignored. No feedback, no response. Thanks for being consistent Asus.
For the price, it's excellent

Pros: It's sturdy and inexpensive.
Cons: The so-called lumbar support doesn't stay in place. It's not a problem. It just doesn't stay in in place very long.
Overall Review: For the price, nothing on the market can beat it even at twice the price. I recommend it.
Replacement for 990FX

Pros: 32 GB memory capacity, very basic replacement for 990FX mobo using DDR3 memory, 6 SATA connectors, Good replacement motherboard for AM3 CPU and DDR3 memory.
Cons: Only supports 3 fans, but you can buy splitter 4 pin EPS rather than 8 pin Sound is basic, only two 3.0 UBS connectors I/O plate is slightly misaligned but can be made to work
Overall Review: My fine 990FX motherboard went down after 5 years. I have 32 GB DDR3 memory. Rather than do a new build and lose the memory, I opted for this meager $80 replacement. It's very mundane compared to the 990FX, but it'll do for 2 or 3 more years.
Worked for two weeks then started skipping and hesitating. It's defective. I have another one of the exact same model to compare it with, so I know it's not the computer or software.

Pros: Feels good on the hand.
Cons: Stopped working within two weeks.
Overall Review: I would only order products that Newegg ships. This came from China. There's no way will take the time to repackage it and ship it to China back $10, lol. It's a throwaway item.
5 years and going strong

Pros: I perused my past purchases back to 2006 and found this item that was bought on 9/6/2010, and I didn't provide a review. It's 5 years old and it's working great. I "rented" several from Comcast that died in about 18 months starting in 2001, so I finally bought this one. This works great after all of these years.
Cons: None after 5 years
Overall Review: See pros above. You can't improve on perfect.
OK, but nothing special
This is the 2nd one I've ordered. The first one is OK. The wheel on the 2nd one clicks and feels different in a bad way. For the money, it's OK, but I'm disappointed that it feels different from the 1st one that I ordered. Fast shipping and packaged well.
