Gorgeous Display
Pros: ASUS knocked it out of the park with this one. Love this thing. Excellent for gaming because it's HUGE! Picture quality is outstanding. My unit had no dead pixels. Physical buttons instead of touch are a plus because they're never as sensitive as they should be and I always accidentally touch them when moving stuff around. Matte screen reduces glare (which is great since the window is behind me). Isn't that heavy making it easy to move around and install.
Cons: Like some of the other reviews, I agree it is a little wobbly but not a dealbreaker by any means. I stabilized my desk against the wall and it eliminated most of the wobbling. Webcam is only 2MP, but I don't really care. If I did, I'd get an HD cam or something.
Overall Review: Can't speak about the speakers since I haven't used them and don't plan to. Have my own audio setup. For the price, this is a great monitor. After reading tons of reviews on a dozen different monitors, I settled with this one and could not be happier. Nice job ASUS.
not bad... but not great
Pros: as some of the previous reviews mentioned that they are a bit tight on your head... at first. after time they will loosen up and become quite comfortable. sound is good. mic is good. i've been using them to play bf2 for the last few months and am pretty happy for the amount of $$$ i paid.
Cons: when i wear my glasses, they tend to start hurting my ears after prolonged usage. w/o my glasses, no prob with comfort. SRS is pretty much useless. i tried it when i first got them. haven't used it since. controller thing is a bit bulky and for some reason when i switch mute off it takes about 10 seconds for the mic to actually unmute.
unbelievable sound - Get this if you're a BF2 or 2142 player!!!
Pros: i can't express how much i LOVE this card. the EAX is fantastic when playing BF2. now i hear the shells hitting the ground, rounds hitting walls, people sneaking up behind me, etc. though i debated forever on whether to get this card or the Fatality version... they both should sound the same, but the fact that this card has the front headphone and mic header sealed the deal.
Cons: the only SLIGHT (and i mean slight) con is having to switch between game and entertainment modes when gaming and listening to music. you can leave it on game mode all the time (music sounds just fine), but the tweeks on the entertainment mode are a bit more intuitive.
outstanding
Pros: factory oc'd, runs extremely cool, price (i got it w/ a rebate), bundled w/ hitman blood money, fairly quiet fan
Cons: haven't run across any yet.
Overall Review: very happy with my purchase. it was a toss up between this and x1900gt. haven't tried it yet, but supposedly it can be oc'd even more. can't believe how low the temp is... it never goes over 45C even after hours of game play.
a good choice
Pros: bright... a beauty monitor. the 2ms response is great for games (i'm not a huge gamer, but want a good playing experience when i do). i couldn't see any ghosting.
Cons: none. this is a fantastic monitor.
Overall Review: well worth the extra i paid for it (was going to go with the hanns-g, but changed my mind last minute).
blazin'
Pros: fast (example: this processor = ferrari... when compared to my old p4 = short yellow bus), price, runs cool
Cons: not dual core
Overall Review: slapped this onto an asus mobo and now i can't be happier. love the fact that i can upgrade easily to x2 or fx later... but, imo, this processor offers the best price/performance currently.
