Great Case

LIAN LI PC-D600WB Black Aluminum ATX Full Tower Computer Case ATX PSU (Optional) Power Supply
LIAN LI PC-D600WB Black Aluminum ATX Full Tower Computer Case ATX PSU (Optional) Power Supply

Pros: This case includes all the mounting hardware you need to use the case. The case is divided into two sections. One section is for cable management and the 5.25 drive bays and the other is for the motherboard and power supply. There is enough clearance for water cooling using 2, 3x140 radiators, even thick radiators. The build quality is excellent and the aluminum is top quality. The included fans are more than adequate. The 5.25 area has a system of semi-tooless installation. The hard disk drive cages are well though out with hot swap similar racks that slide in and out.

Cons: The front I/O panel had half of the USB 3 connectors unusable because the motherboard connector had a damaged pin hole where the plastic entered the hole and blocked off one of the pin receptors used to plug into the motherboard. Only 2 of the 4 USB ports are usable because of this defect because the connector can't plug into the motherboard because there is a piece of plastic in the way and won't seat properly. The power button is a bit flimsy, but works fine. The front cover is secured by a single thumb screw on the bottom of the case and it would be nice if this was totally hardware free like the back and side doors.

Overall Review: The biggest gripe with this case is that the 5.25 drive cage which sits behind the motherboard tray only has about 1/3 inch of clearance between the 5.25 cage and the separator that separates the different parts of the case. This means that running the motherboard power cable or other cables behind the motherboard tray separator is almost impossible. If you're looking for really clean cable routing this case lacks a bit as you'll be forced to run some cables inside of the case with the plastic viewing panel, instead of routing them behind the motherboard. Because there is little clearance in this area due to the 5.25 structure you'll be sort of wanting more in terms of cable management. The grommets on the right hand side of the motherboard are only usable for the longest and thinnest cables anything else won't fit because of the clearance issues.

Corsair Hydro Series H100i V2 Extreme Performance Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm (CW-9060025-WW)
Corsair Hydro Series H100i V2 Extreme Performance Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm (CW-9060025-WW)

Pros: The cooler is well built. It's really easy to install and connect all of the cables.

Cons: Worked for only 2 months before the pump died. Corsair LINK also has lots of bugs. The radiator fans eventually were stuck at 0 RPM and the software couldn't get them spinning. Everything connected properly. The pump eventually would only run for about 1 second ever 5 seconds, being off for 4 seconds. This was visible in Corsair Link seeing the pump graph spiking for one second and then not running for about 4 seconds.

Overall Review: Hopefully Corsair will RMA this unit. Ticket submitted.

Decent Performance

MSI ENTHUSIAST GAMING X299 GAMING M7 ACK LGA 2066 Intel X299 SATA 6Gb/s ATX Intel Motherboard
MSI ENTHUSIAST GAMING X299 GAMING M7 ACK LGA 2066 Intel X299 SATA 6Gb/s ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Board designed well. Fast boot times.

Cons: I had to RMA a board because BIOS update bricked the computer. I tried upgrading the BIOS because of memory compatibility issues and the BIOS update process didn't work and made the computer unbootable. The included software utilities and BIOS interface need lots of improvement. The user interface of the software utilities and BIOS are not intuitive and confusing. Especially the app called Command Center, needs a design improvement.

Overall Review: I would not recommend upgrading or attempting to upgrade the BIOS on this motherboard as it didn't work for me and resulted in a unusable and bricked product. When Newegg sent us a RMA and shipped us a new motherboard I think it had the upgraded BIOS from the factory so there were no issues. Sometimes the system during bootup will result in error message 62 telling the user to load the PCH runtime I think. Intel rushed the X299 platform to market so I'd expect some errors here and there. If you're looking to pick between X299 and newer chipsets I would tell you to go with newer chipsets instead of Skylake X unless you really want Skylake X.

CORSAIR HXi Series HX1000i 1000W 80 PLUS PLATINUM Haswell Ready Full Modular ATX12V & EPS12V SLI and Crossfire Ready Power Supply with C-Link Monitoring and Control
CORSAIR HXi Series HX1000i 1000W 80 PLUS PLATINUM Haswell Ready Full Modular ATX12V & EPS12V SLI and Crossfire Ready Power Supply with C-Link Monitoring and Control

Pros: This power supply worked fine for about a month. Good configuration with the USB cable and Corsair Link to see the power draw and set the fan speed.

Cons: Only worked for 1 month. Then my system would shutdown after only about 15-30 minutes into a session. Made the computer unusable until it was diagnosed it was the power supply. The quality of the modular cables also is kind of shoddy compared to other manufacturers.

Overall Review: Corsair used to be a really great brand about 5-6 years ago but I think their quality has sort of gone down since then. Since the last time I built a custom PC I used corsair in the last one and I figured I'd go with them this time with the new computer build. You may have different luck I might have just got a broken unit.

Excellent display

NEC EA224WMi-BK 22" Full HD 1920 x 1080 DisplayPort HDMI DVI-D VGA USB Hub Built-in Speakers Widescreen Backlit LED IPS Monitor
NEC EA224WMi-BK 22" Full HD 1920 x 1080 DisplayPort HDMI DVI-D VGA USB Hub Built-in Speakers Widescreen Backlit LED IPS Monitor

Pros: IPS, Display Port and realy easy to use UI for changing settings.

Cons: The power cord and display cord are routed on different sides of the stand, making cable management sort of difficult with stiff cables.

Overall Review: Would buy again these have turned out to be great displays.
