Never going back to consumer router/wifi units!

Pros: I love these access points. PoE, can place the access point in the optimal location for the best overall coverage in my home. I have this mounted on the second floor ceiling, roughly center of the home. Great coverage over the entire floorplan, and all levels of the home. The feature set available with this access point is awesome, and the controller software make monitoring and configuring everything a breeze.
Cons: The Unifi software is top notch, however I wish I could run the unifi controller software on my Edgerouter-x instead of running it on a separate server. I also wish this unit had standard 802.3af/at PoE support instead of their proprietary 24v "passive" PoE, like the more expensive UAP-AC-PRO version. Not a huge deal since this is the only PoE device I use, but would certainly make this device more future-proof.
Overall Review: I have a 3800 sqft two story + basement walkout home, a single UAP-AC-LR access point provides sufficient coverage for the entire house. Very impressed.
Immediately trips GFCI!

Pros: Has everything I was looking for in a soldering station
Cons: Where is the QA? Did the factory even try to plug this thing in? I received this iron today and was all excited to set it up... as soon as I plug it in my GFCI outlet trips, even with the unit switched off.
Overall Review: I'll be sending this one back, I'm not sure if I want to try a replacement or not.. I really wanted to like this soldering station, but this whole experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth.
Good memory

Pros: Great specs, tested fine with memtest86+ before put into production.
Cons: None
Overall Review: G.Skill memory has been great, aside from a couple bad sticks I've gotten in the past (newegg RMA in these situations has been fairly painless). Always test your memory before putting it to use! Trying to debug random system failures due to bad memory is much more difficult and time consuming in the long run.
Great for a small low power NAS

Pros: Great value for a low power mini-itx embedded CPU combo. Four SATA ports plus a 1x pcie slot for future SATA expansion. This CPU has hardware crc & AES instructions which puts very little encryption overhead on the processor. Processor speed is plenty for basic NAS functionality, though running btrfs or zfs may create a slight performance hit due to the extra processing overhead. So far stability has been rock solid with 24/7 operation. This board is a great alternative to an off the shelf NAS appliance for those looking to do more advanced things, or prefer a completely open solution.
Cons: Would have been nice for the board to have full sized dimm slots for memory, considering I have a bunch of full size ddr3 laying around. Not many itx boards have full size dimms, though. Also, I wish the m.2 slot worked with storage devices, not just wifi cards.
Overall Review: Make sure you use a current linux distribution, as the new kaby lake cpu's have issues with older kernels.
Best bang for your buck

Pros: Very feature rich managed L2 switch, for the price you can't beat it. All metal casing, fanless, and includes rackmount ears. This switch hit all the marks on my wishlist.
Cons: VLAN configuration could be a little more intuitive, but once you figure out the web UI its simple. Its not obvious when you have unsaved configuration changes (don't forget to click the save button in the upper right corner), resulting in lost changes after a power cycle.
Overall Review: I did notice a rattle in the switch when shaking it, however the switch operates flawlessly.
Great upgrade for older AIO system

Pros: Passed several passes in memtest86+ with flying colors. Works as advertised. Doubled the amount of memory in an older all in one PC.
Cons: None
Overall Review: I always test new memory before putting it in production. Half a dozen passes of memtest86+ is a sufficient burn in to make sure QA didn't miss any bad dram. To date, I've caught two defective sticks of ram (out of a dozen or so tested). Test your ram!
