Small, Fast, convenient
Pros: I Like the size, and speed of this drive. I typically get at worst 12 MBs writing to, and up to 120 or better reading. Compared to Usb 2.0 drives that drag at 1-3 MBs writing, and maybe 30 for reading this is nice.
Cons: You could loose it if you are not careful - it is small which can be a + or -
Might Work with SOME systems
Pros: After about an Hour and a half I was able to get it into the bay BELOW the drive I wanted to run cooler.
Cons: With standard slide in drive bays, you cannot attach this cooler to the drive without seriously reworking your drive bay housing rack. Placing this cooler in the bay underneath the drive MIGHT give you a couple of degrees F cooler drive operation. I wouldn't consider it to be worth the effort to purchase and install, unless I had completely open drive.bay cage - WITHOUT (very convenient) separation rails for the drives to sit on. IF you have an extra 1/2 inch or so or completely open air below your drive this might work for you.
Overall Review: It looked like a good idea. It would have been nice if it had been more useful.
Died after about 3 months
Pros: It did work for roughly 3 months.
Cons: When it died, - it died FAST. At first programs had trouble reading the drive and would lock up. From there it went to losing its format as far as windows was concerned. After 12 to 16 hours of repeatedly trying to format the drive, one full format finally appeared to take, until the drive was removed and reinserted... then back to the same old message, Do you want to format ? ... No I don't want to waste another 3 to 4 hours waiting for you to try to format this dying piece of Low Quality Hardware. I have not contacted Western Digital for Warranty service yet. I hope that experience will not be as severe of a disappointment as this product. I ended up loosing about 1/4 TB of data that will likely take months to reconstruct.
Overall Review: Western Digital USED TO carry and produce some of if not the best drives as far as I knew. I bought this drive because of their reputation, and my belief in this company. At the least this experience was a distinct disappointment.
Item arrived defective, Seller could or would not provide any technical assistance to aid with problem.
The way the item was defective provided a baffling set of info. One or maybe two speakers would work, but never all at once. Finally Logitechs ' support was able to help and diagnose the problem. Speakers were returned, still awaiting a refund. Would not recommend this seller.
Part / Power Supply arrived dented / damaged in shipping, some difficulty in aligning screws with case holes due to that, but it works well and is FAR better than the failing old PS. Not worth the trouble to contact customer service and try for an exchange.
