One of the best cases I have ever purchased
Pros: The case comes with two 3.0 ports which still work after 1 full year of use (purchased and built November 2014). The space inside is large enough to allow my seven fans to cool the whole system down like an AC :) Though, the amount of fans I use are more ascetic appeal than anything else.
Cons: Nearly 2 months ago now the two 2.0 ports built into the case broke. My little nephew, 13 years old, went to put a thumb-drive into the port, and the whole port fell into the case. The portion that held the ports into place are no longer there, so I have done some personal maintenance on this system to build new clips by using thin ABS plastic. *Warning: When the case arrived on day one, the ports were already noticeably loose, so I knew this would happen eventually*
Overall Review: Even with the ports on the front, which may have been a manufacturing error, this case is still recommended by me to many of my tech-friends.
The device is so-so
Pros: -Made by Lenovo -Windows 10 installed -Lightweight unit -Fast charging times -Decent battery life -Great technical support from both newegg and Lenovo
Cons: The device utilizes eMMC for the boot drive, which is very slow when compared to an HDD or SSD. Downloading and installing antivirus and Microsoft office took nearly 3 hours of time, and ultimately made my device run even slower. Booting from shutoff to start screen takes twenty minutes, so if you are in a rush, then you are in trouble. However, I would like to point out that I have installed AVG on the laptop, and the freeware has always been known to be rather taxing on hard drives and RAM. Just to make sure I do mention the correct credibility of this device, when the system has fully booted to the desktop, and after the startup processes have finished, then the device runs rather smoothly. Even Office by Microsoft runs great on this device (I am a college student, and this does meet my immediate needs, though, this is not my main computer).
Overall Review: I would recommend this device if, and only if, the unit is on sale. I purchased my ideapad for around $150, and for that price it is worth it, but for the regular price of $180 I would recommend spending $30-$40 dollars more on a bottom line Asus or Acer that does not have eMMC as a boot drive.
Had for a while, still not impressed
Pros: Affordable, light, easy to use out of the box.
Cons: Bought this laptop for my mom to play FarmVille, and yet it still struggles at times. Its been quite some time since purchasing this laptop, so I doubt many people are going to buy something with this old of hardware, but I wouldnt recommend it at this point.
Overall Review: Unless youre a college student doing light rendering, docs, PowerPoint, or something else lightweight, the laptop isnt worth the money
Compatibility issues with my MoBo
Pros: Fast; enough cores for what I need; easy to install.
Cons: The compatibility with my motherboard has consistently given me issues since my first time installing the CPU. I upgraded from a Ryzen 7 1700x, which had no issues whatsoever, then after updating the bios and installing the CPU I get an annoying bus driver error. Ive gotten around replacing my MoBo by reinstalling Windows every couple of months, but that is not the ideal solution. Im running on an x470 MoBo.
Overall Review: Good CPU if you have the right MoBo, I guess. Just a headache for me.
My father loves this case!
Pros: My dad was super excited to buy a new case for his computer. I swapped everything over and the look on his face made me smile. He loves this case. The side panels are nice and tinted. The included fans give more than adequate airflow. The case is very easy to work in.
Overall Review: Worth the price.
Fits but soft keyboard
Pros: Fits like a glove. Exactly what I needed to repair my mothers laptop.
Cons: The keyboard is softer than the original. Some might describe it as mushy. I only knock off one egg because without this palm-rest and keyboard my mom would still need to use an external keyboard.
Overall Review: For the price, I got everything I needed. As long as you know how to replace parts on your own computer/laptop, and if this is a part you need, then definitely buy
Second that I purchased
This is the second time that I have purchased this case for my father. He is a tool/outdoor/mechanic person who is rough on his cellphone, and sadly he broke his case a few weeks ago, so I had to purchase him another. He loves the case, and that is enough for me to rate it highly.
It was slow, but that didn't bother me...
I "needed" the adapter for my tablet because I do not like the wired dongle that came with the device. Sure, I bought the item November 18th, never received a tracking notice, and the adapters did not arrive until December 11th, but I had no doubts that I would eventually get them. Plus, I was in no hurry, so I did not mind waiting, and sure enough I got what I paid for. There are no problems with the build quality, no problems with the price, and I would happily purchase more if I needed to do so. (The one egg was docked because there was no tracking number, but like I said, that didn't bother me...)
