As its name implies - Rock Solid

Pros: Dropped everything in - no problems at all. Bios saw everything it should except memory was at 1066 *Intel spec for the 133mhz QPI, no board fault* Raid bios automatically sees more than one drive and gives a few seconds to go into raid setup if needed. Setup a Raid5 array and formatted. Vista/P64 installed in no time. After stress testing parts, was able to run QPI up to 188 without having to do any manual settings.. ASUS flavored bios keeps cpu flagged as 'under load' when doing anything, so 188 QPI results in a 21x188 = 3.94ghz oc.. and rock solid.. Memory was still at 1066 however and had to set manually to 1333.. Hopefully a bios bug to not pickup the XMP, but no problems doing it manually. Tested SLI in both slots 4 and 6 (311 bios) and saw no difference at all in visual performance nor benchmarks so apparently ASUS fixed the N200 bug they initially had. Cons: For descriptive purposes, we will say the bios is {voltage friendly}.. Meaning that it is very generous when providing cpu/mem voltages.. This yields some very high, stable oc's, using only QPI bumping.. but as I have noted below, does also mean higher temps so keep an eye on that. During oc stress testing, I noticed that temps were alarmingly high.. two passes of prime had cpu at 88c!! (within TPD still, but high) Reseated cooler 6 times, tried two other 920 cpu's, changed core voltages a little but staying stable - still hot no change. ASUS tech support offered a few suggestions but still no change in temps. I had planned on liquid cooling from the beginning, but do not have the chipset block just yet (shipping from Germany).. so I decided to follow ASUS suggestion to have board replaced as the 311 bios was supposed to address ('help monitor' per ASUS) the overvolting. So I am awaiting a replacement..
Overall Review: No hits on eggs - a 3.9ghz oc is a substantial achievement without manual settings.. and the voltage/temps could be addressed with tweaking.. I just feel like doing it manually at this time. I haven't read anything here about temps, so I feel confident that the replacement should resolve the issue. Performance has been stellar!! Everything related to hard drives and video is amazing. Overall processing in Vantage is so quick that there isn't even any delay between the tests being run (every other mb so far would delay enough between tests that it would go back to the desktop where I could glance at the monitoring software..) this board just blinks and starts running next test... fastest i7 system built to date. The Raid5 array is completely worth the loss of one drives space.. It provides security against losing your data, and read/write times are amazing. Went from up to 20sec load time zoning in EQ2 to 3 or 5 sec!! Gaming has been amazing.. Vantage-P27430 (water and 3xGTX285 s
Slow

Pros: Tiny All plastic (if your ever concerned with shorting a USB header)
Cons: Slow
Overall Review: This thing is really, really, slow. I don't mean like you have gotten used to USB3 speeds, I mean like I'm not even sure it is USB2. Tried 'burning' several ISO images to the stick (in case maybe it was the ISO) and even a 4gb ISO takes 25min! This thing cannot seem to write any faster than 2.5-3mb/s and most of the time its writing at 1.5mb/s. Not to mention that it failed several times using Belena or Rufus. Once written is is not showing any errors, and the Linux ISOs installed without any issues I can see.. but it is really slow. I only purchased this to reach a free shipping threshold, heh, so wasn't really expecting anything from it.. Not sure it is worth the time to return.. Maybe I'll put something on it I don't ever need to write over, like a Clonezilla boot stick or something.
Inexpensive - Inexpensive Plastic

Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Cheap plastic used - glossy/shiny plastic
Overall Review: These are fans, connect them to power and they move air. They are made of the cheapest plastic I have seen, the super light weight brittle kind. Would not likely survive a fall - assemble over carpeted floor. Gave four stars due to plastic used and these fans do not like to be PWM controlled. Often have to reach my hand in the case and spin them started as they are just pulsing (other fans run on my MB just fine). Connected directly to power (1200prm) they do move quite a bit of air though, so if are replacing say a rear fan, you could bump up the curves on your front fan to offset the rear running at full speed, or vis-versa.. otherwise plan PWM cautiously as they might not work as desired.
Great looking cables

Pros: Nice silver color Metal clips
Overall Review: Appearance would not normally be the criteria I would consider when buying SATA cables, however with the purchase of a new case (Phanteks Enthoo Evolv) I couldn't continue using the horrible puke yellow cables I have had for 20yrs - plus two of them were giving me connection problems. So when purchasing these new silver cables I wanted to maintain the Silver/Black motif of the case and my internals. These cables are straight-straight connectors, and quite stiff, but that is a good thing as they hold their shape when routing or for appearance. They pick up the light in my case a bit more than the silver in my power cables, but as they are not from the same manufacturer I cannot fault anyone/anything - just wish they were a bit darker (more muted). The cables I had previously were also Nippon, so if lifespan of the previous cables are any indication I am confident these will last as long as I wish to use them.
Neat LED strips

Pros: Good magnets Has peel/sticky backs if needed/preferred
Overall Review: The perfect brightness I was looking for. Just wanted to illuminate the inside of the case enough to be able to check on everything (fans turning etc) but in an ambient lighting way. I did not want to see the strips, nor any direct light coming from them. I was able to stick just one strip at the top of my case, LEDs facing down, behind the fold of sheet metal so no light shines out of the case or through the top vents (Phanteks Enthoo Evolv) it just illuminates the case interior. I think 'they' look great (even though I only used one) and have a backup if something goes wrong with it. Just a little personal touch..
Nice looking cables

Pros: Good length Solid connectors
Overall Review: These are really nice looking cables. They look really good under blue light. They are a bit stiff, but they hold their shape and likely would not even need the separator clips if you took the time to position each wire. I chose the black/silver (which was not the cheapest option at the time) but wanted to maintain the silver and black motif of the overall case (Phanteks Enthoos Evolv - good cable management). Everything came out looking great!
