Great Card for the Price
Pros: It's simple, economical, and gets the job done. I needed a card just for everyday work including watching HD video. No installation issues, no fan noise, no driver problems, and great picture.
Cons: None
Overall Review: Don't be an fool and buy this card for Modern Warfare 3 and complain about performance. Don't complain about fan noise if you're a freak and need your face 12 inches from the PC. Don't claim you have a high tech level if you can't take a few minutes to research if a motherboard with integrated graphics is compatible.
As Easy as it gets
Pros: Easy to Install
Cons: Two issues: 1. The level included is worthless - pickup a decent one @ a good hardware store. 2. I bought 3 kits and all of them were missing the larger washers - again quick fix was to go to a hardware store and pick up what I needed
Overall Review: For the price, simple design, & installation you can't go wrong. I had to knock off 2-eggs for the missing hardware.
IT WORKS!
Pros: I picked up this water cooler because I just could not beat the price and the rebate offered. I’ve never run a water cooler before and was just looking for a good deal when this showed up. It was a risk – at the time I made the purchase there was no reviews yet so I could not gauge how things were going to work out. So some background: I’ve been running the same PC for the last few years specifically for engineering and modeling (SW & Catia). It makes me money so any down time is a negative, which means I keep upgrades to a minimum. My setup (don’t laugh) is a QX9650, Asus P5Q Deluxe, 4 x 2 GB Corsair XMS2 memory, Nvidia 8800 Ultra, and a 256 GB Samsung SSD. The 8800 Ultra is flashed to Quadro 4600 and the QX9650 is overclocked to 4 GHZ (400MHz fsb X 10 Ratio,@ 1.425 Volts) with a Scythe Ninja 3 air cooler. My problem: When I rendered my design work on air cooling the QX9650 ran at the ragged edge of 85c. So in 30 minutes I pulled the board, yank the old cooler, dropped this in, and added a second fan (Scythe Slipstream 120mm, 2000RPM 110 CFM) for a push/pull on the radiator. No changes to my overclocking – a flat drop if 25c, my CPU does not get past 60c.
Cons: The instructions are not that great but for a SKT 775 it was not hard to figure out which hardware to use and the proper installation. Take a few minutes to figure out which hardware you are going to need, install the backing plate, pre assemble the hardware on your water block, and do a dry fit. I did and it only took a few minutes to figure out that one of the spring mounting screws was in a SKT 1155 position.
Overall Review: Right now my setup is pulling air out of my PC case so I can’t tell you if it makes a difference with reverse air flow. Airflow is important to me so a long time ago I cut out the excess sheet metal from the rear fan location – no perforated holes between my fan and the outside world (watch your fingers). Last, I did not use the TIM that came with the water cooler. I used to be a fan of Artic Silver 5 but instead when with GIELD GC-Extreme this time and have no complaints.
***CHEAP***
Pros: Cheap & Works
Cons: None
Overall Review: Don't be a fool and tell yourself those $50 to $90 Monster Cables sound better.
Fits Perfectly
Pros: Purchased this item at the same time with a Samsung 830 256GB SSD. No issues with the Bracket & SSD and fit right into my CoolerMaster case HDD slot.
Cons: None
LOVE IT !!!!
Pros: This has been the single best upgrade to my personal workstation. Hands down on just performance and response time had crushed the 300GB WD Velociraptor it replaced. Windows Experience index went from 5.9 to 7.7. Boot time cut in half. Loads large Catia & Solidworks models in seconds.
Cons: I'm sure if I was using current generation hardware it would be faster.
Overall Review: Listed my Hardware just in case someone has a compatibility question. Intel QX9650 Asus P5Q Deluxe Corsair 8GB 4x2GB XMSII DDR2 PNY Quadro 4600 Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
