Intel Core i7-920 - Core i7 Bloomfield Quad-Core 2.66 GHz LGA 1366 130W Processor - BX80601920
Intel Core i7-920 - Core i7 Bloomfield Quad-Core 2.66 GHz LGA 1366 130W Processor - BX80601920

Pros: Works like a charm in my ASUS P6T Deluxe. Overclocking is a breeze with this board and the i7 920 works great. I have tested the system (OCCT and MemTest86+) stable up to 3.6 GHz (I have not tried higher overclocking than BCLK=180 MHz), but I have read others have gone above this level.

Cons: The stock CPU cooler is just adequate and in my case I was getting high temperatures (90+ C) under very heavy CPU loads (via OCCT). The mechanical push pin attachment mechanism of the stock cooler is not great, and in my build I think I had a poor thermal contact. I replaced the stcok cooler with a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme RT 1366 cooler. This made a huge difference in the CPU core temperatures under heavy load and I would highly recommend this upgrade, especially if you are thinking of overclocking.

Good So Far, Remote Battery Issue

NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV - 4K HDR Streaming Media Player - High Performance, Dolby Vision, Google Assistant Built-In, Works with Alexa (945-13430-2500-000)
NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV - 4K HDR Streaming Media Player - High Performance, Dolby Vision, Google Assistant Built-In, Works with Alexa (945-13430-2500-000)

Pros: Pretty much Plug and Play, that is if the remote batteries are working. The interface is very responsive.

Cons: The remote arrived, but was not working. It appears the batteries were dead. This complicated what would have otherwise been a simple setup. Changing remote batteries is generally simple enough, but on the Shield TV remote the battery compartment is very well concealed. I had to find a YouTube video and even with that it was a struggle to open the compartment. Again, a one-time issue.

Overall Review: I have only had the unit for 24 hours, but no issues so far. I purchased this unit in part for the SiliconDust HDHomeRun app, which allows cable TV (or off-air TV depending on the SiliconDust tuner) and DVR recorded content to be stream within the house. The Shield TV is particularly well suited to decoding the MPEG-2 TS content that CATV system generally use. There is a Google Assistant built-in (mic in remote), although I have Echos and will therefore likely use the Alexa Skill. I have only done very basic testing of the Alexa skill (e.g., Alexa, "Go To Netflix on Shield")

Nice Case, Very Pleased

Antec P182 Gun Metal Black 0.8mm cold rolled steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Antec P182 Gun Metal Black 0.8mm cold rolled steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: The Antec P182 case is a well designed and built case, which is a good fit for my ASUS P6T deluxe motherboard and CORSAIR CMPSU-620HX 620W modular power supply. One issue with the P182 case is that PSU is located at the bottom of the case, so sometimes PSU power cables can have trouble reaching motherboard power connectors at the top of the case. With the ASUS P6T Deluxe the most distant power connector is the 8-Pin ARX connector, but the CMPSU-620HX works just fine if you route the 8-pin ATX power cable behind the motherboard and then resurface at the top of the case at at the motherboard 8-pin ATX connector. I have the case fans powered off the motherboard case fan (3-pin) power connections, allowing the motherboard to control the fan speed based on temperature readings. To do this I need to purchase 3-pin to 4-pin fan power adapter cables, as the ASUS P6T Deluxe motherboard using 3-pin (male) connectors and the Antec case fans are the large 4-pin perpheral power connector

Cons: There is a known issue with the fans in this case not starting-up properly if not set in the high-setting. Antec has therefore enclosed an extra three fans in the box (tested to be defect free), in the event the fans installed in the case have this problem. Unfortunately all three of the installed fans in my case had this problem, so I needed to spend a little extra time to replace the factory installed fans. It was not clear how to remove the case fan located behind the power supply compartment. it turns out the fan and its mounting bracket just snap out of position (no screws to remove) The hinges used on the case door are only small plastic pins. I accidentally bumped the corner of the partially opened case door with my knee while placing my completed build into position under the desk and snapped on of these pins (hence the door would fall off when opening) . The good hews is the Antec agreed to send me a replacement door at not cost!

So far so Good

ASUS P6T Deluxe LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P6T Deluxe LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: This was me first system build and I was very pleased with this ASUS motherboard. I followed the installation instructions and overall they were very good. I added a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme RT 1366 cooler, replacing the stock Intel cooler. This made a huge difference in the CPU core temperatures under heavy load and I would highly recommend this upgrade, especially if you are thinking of overclocking.

Cons: Not really a con, but I found I had to use quite a bit of force to close the latch on the 1366 socket, but perhaps that is not out of the norm. Also at the time of this writing NewEgg has a very limited selection to 1366 socket CPU coolers, so I had to purchase the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme RT 1366 cooler elsewhere. (again, not an issue specific to the P5T Deluxe motherboard)

Works Great in ASUS P6T Deluxe

CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TR3X6G1333C9
CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TR3X6G1333C9

Pros: Works great in my ASUS P6T Deluxed based system with an Intel Core i7 920 (2.67 GHz), overclocked to 3.6 GHz.

Cons: Price, but I see that has dropped $70 since I purchased the memory a month ago, so the price is outstanding at the moment.
