Pros: Fast with heat spreaders
Cons: Got a bad chip with my first shipment. Newegg quickly replaced.
Overall Review: I bought some cheaper RAM to keep me going while I RMA'd the first package, hoping that I'd be able to use both. But the two sets of chips don't seem to want to play nice together, so I'm stuck with 4 gig of RAM that I can't use.
Pros: Well built and quiet. Doesn't take up a USB port, due to being able to plug into its plug.
Cons: It's a lot taller than I expected, despite it being labeled as "slim", but I haven't noticed any discomfort yet. It's also a little narrower than my 17" laptop, but the laptop still sits firmly on top. It didn't resolve my laptop's overheating issue like I had hoped.
Overall Review: I have an MSI GT70 gaming laptop that tends to overheat unless I turn on it's rather noisy "turbo" fan. I was hoping this cooling pad would allow quiet and cool operation, but that turns out not to be the case. Perhaps my laptop just has terrible cooling.
Pros: Plays most games at high settings. Nice keyboard. Nice sound. Great screen. Well built and looks good.
Cons: Completely worthless track pad. Overheats easily during games without the "turbo" fan going, which is super loud! Came with a bad driver/software disk. The warranty sticker on the bottom, the one that says "void if tampered", was already broken.
Overall Review: I'd give this an extra egg if I didn't have to remember to turn on the noisy "turbo" fan before playing games. Maybe mine just didn't get sufficient thermal application?
Pros: Beautiful picture, classy enclosure. HDMI. Great price.
Cons: The screen is NOT matte. Expect to see lots of reflections when the picture is dark. Got a BSOD when I first booted up Win 7 with it plugged into the HDMI port (didn't try DVI). It's a little wobbly. No height adjust, but then most don't. Very confusing setting controls. They're hidden underneath the screen, so you have to feel your way around.
Overall Review: Bottom line: if you can live with the reflective screen, and you don't need to play with your settings often, this is a great monitor (so far).
Slow but accurate
The product actually took closer to the 20 day mark to get to me rather than the 15 days that it claimed, and it took about half of that time for the tracking number to register with USPS, but the product did arrive to me correctly and in working order.
