Toshiba 12tb Enterprise HDD
Pros: Drive is fast. During the transfer process of about 5tb of data onto this drive, it was rather quick. The cache would saturate, slow down and speed up again, but the average speed is faster then any mechanical drive Ive ever owned. For whatever thats worth. It was getting the data from a 4 disk array of older, smaller drives. It is silent. I do realize this is a mixed bag and others may not be, but sometimes they are silent. It is large. 12tb is a ton of data. Ill need to purchase another in the near future to raid 1 this so I dont loose so much data. This pro is self evident but all I had was 5tb of data to begin with.
Cons: It is shipped in a plastic OEM container that looks like it could be drop kicked. Id guess 9/10 DOAs are due to shipping. I wonder if someone did a cost benefit analysis on shipping material and said screw it. I also wonder if mine came in good working condition just because Im relatively close to the shipping origin. Within a few hundred miles
Overall Review: Great drive. Once I get a proper raid going, Ill be good for a while
Not bad on my Laptop
Pros: The interface isn't too bad on my laptop. Doing basic things, I forget I upgraded. The mail app is the biggest plus. You can arrange metro to your liking to streamline the tasks you do the most.
Cons: Some programs do not work. Acronis backup does not work at all, ESET Smart Security is now complaining. The thumbprint login gimmicky thing that came with this laptop wasn't suppose to work and does (Upgrade assistant said no)? What use to take 2 mouse clicks to navigate now takes 4. It also had me uninstall a couple other programs
Overall Review: I should have done benchmarks before upgrading but it feels about the same, perhaps quicker. I think only upgrading this laptop was the way to go. Anyone else think metro would look unprofessional in a work environment?
Works great, cheap raid
Pros: I put two old 500gb 2.5 inch seagate drives in this enclosure. It is currently being used as a raid1 external backup. Really no issues. Setup was easy
Cons: I'm not sure how it will alert me when a drive dies, one of the lights will go out?
Overall Review: When you switch the raid level, you just need to hold the reset button. Very intuitive.
Worked great out the box
Pros: -good timing-good price for rgb-4 sticks works at ratted timings
Cons: -very over-the-top in terms of design
Overall Review: It works with Asus aura. There is another review that suggests how to tighten the timings and that worked for me as well after a memtest. I have an Asus x570 board and a Ryzen 5600x. I had another set of ram sticks from another company that would not run at rated speeds. That company also had some ssd controversy.
great case
Pros: - came operational- great rgb- fans work great
Overall Review: fit my needs exactly
Nice machine
Pros: Low power consumption Quiet Small foot print looks good
Cons: eMMc storage not as fast as any cheap ssd or mSATA looks like bios can only be upgraded with a windows program?
Overall Review: I'm using it as a NAS / media server. Works great with Archlinux and had no problems with install. Picked up an additional mSATA for a really good price. I have had any issues with reliability yet and the speed is more then acceptable. I have not used the bluetooth nor audio yet so I cannot comment on those features.
