OOPS!!! Asus P4C800-E Deluxe

CORSAIR 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model VS2GBKIT400C3

Pros: Works like a charm, contrary to my previous review.

Cons: Had to manually set latencies in bios.

Overall Review: So I went to their website and put my board in and they suggested this memory for it so I started to go through the support site (very nice and thorough). They suggested that I update the bios and manually set the latencies. I was going to do that on my own but a friend told me not to bother with it cuz it shouldn't make a difference. For some reason it did here. NO MORE LAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no rebate

Kingston 512MB Secure Digital (SD) Flash Card Model SD/512
Kingston 512MB Secure Digital (SD) Flash Card Model SD/512

Pros: Works and is relatively cheap

Cons: Just got a card from Kingston about my rebate claiming that the "Purchase date on sales receipt does not fall within program dates." So now I have to call and force them to understand that my purchase date does fall within a previous rebate term not the current one.

Overall Review: Don't buy this based on price after rebate because you may not receive that rebate.

Pros: Overall, a solid, well-built laptop. This replaced my Asus G75, which still works well but I wanted better graphics. The build quality far exceeds the G75. So far it runs WOW and Black Ops 4 great. Due to my job, I'm in hotels much more than I'm at home so this laptop allows me to enjoy my games on the road. The keyboard is comfortable and has a good feel to it. The customizable colors for each individual key is a nice touch.

Cons: As always there's the bloatware slowing the rig down. I haven't removed anything yet, but you can tell it's not as fast as it should be when doing simple tasks. You know you're buying a big, heavy, desktop replacement. I don't believe it's a con here because I knew that getting into it. However, it seems that nobody makes a great, secure bag to carry this around in that isn't way too bulky. The fan noise is far worse than what you're expecting. I use a headset to game, so this doesn't knock an egg off of my score, but it needs to be listed.

Overall Review: I ordered the one with the 256GB SSD and 2 TB HD. I plan on picking up 3 better SSD's and reinstalling a fresh copy of windows to get better performance. I have WOW on the SSD and Black Ops 4 on the HD. Sometimes, I start a match in Black Ops and have to wait forever for the environment to load. I haven't looked into it in any great detail, but my assumption is the drive is holding me back.

Works well

Intel Core i7-4770K - Core i7 4th Gen Haswell Quad-Core 3.5 GHz LGA 1150 84W Intel HD Graphics Desktop Processor - BX80646I74770K

Pros: Works great. OC'd to (I'll round up) 4.3 with stock fan. Using an Antec case with a 200mm fan right above this so that probably helps out the temps very well. I mainly play wow. 2 monitors, 1 for gaming 1 for wipe time. nvidia experience settings gives you almost max on everything and 60-120 fps for the most part. Cons: None so far

Desktop Replacement

ASUS G75 Series - 17.3" - Intel Core i7 3rd Gen 3610QM (2.30GHz) - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670M - 12 GB DDR3 - 500GB HDD - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit - Gaming Laptop (G75VW-NS71 )

Pros: Bought this almost a year ago to game on when traveling. This was purchased knowing shortly after I would be adding an SSD and changing the existing drive to storage only. Replacing the drive was a breeze and the computer works as expected.

Cons: Only complaint I have is the built in sound. Read up on this if you are expecting to use the built in speakers flawlessly. You'll find that just adjusting the sound will cause unexpected results due to the driver and internal setup. I won't get into it much since there are plenty of specifics online. This doesn't bother me much and doesn't cost an egg mainly because I game with a headset and it works fine like that.

Fast, Quiet, and did I say fast???

Pros: Very fast, quiet, and so far, reliable. Just got one for my G75 but have had one for my main computer for some time now. I haven't encountered any problems whatsoever. The G75 boots fully from button push in 15 to 20 seconds.

Cons: None
