So Far So Good

BenQ 22" WSXGA+ LCD Monitor 5 ms D-Sub, DVI, HDMI FP222WH
BenQ 22" WSXGA+ LCD Monitor 5 ms D-Sub, DVI, HDMI FP222WH

Pros: For starters, It's NOT a Sceptre monitor, he he he!! Unfortunately, that monitor lasted a mere 3 weeks and then the entire display went out. However, Newegg's prompt RMA refund got me the chance to purchase this particular LCD instead. Everything works fine. No dead or stuck pixels and the PQ is sharp as to be expected at 1680x1050 resolution, including playing upconverted DVD's at 1080i. Really wasn't too concerned about a lack of speakers or USB ports though. The stand is also less wobbly and more stable than the previous monitor. Moreover, I have found that the OSD functions are less layered, and therefore more accessable. Overall, this *seems* to be a fine quality monitor. Hopefully, this one will last me beyond a 30 measily days without having to obtain yet another replacement. **fingers crossed**

Cons: None that I'm presently aware of. I haven't bothered using the inbox DVI cable, so I wouldn't know whether that cable is sub-standard or not. Same with the other VGA cable in which I don't really need anyway.

Overall Review: Even though this purchase is based on a limited 30 day warranty from Newegg, at least there would be some insurance in knowing that if something were to go out, I could always physically bring the monitor to the authorized service center close to where I live and save on the shipping. Now THAT helps a lot!!

AVEXIR Core Series (Blue LED) 8GB (2 x 4GB) CL11 Dual Channel 240-pin DDR3 2666 (PC3 21300) Desktop Memory Module Model AVD3U26661104G-2CI

Pros: Well it's functional, but that's about it . I can only clock it up to 2200, otherwise the system goes into a reboot cycle, and then boots into default mode.

Cons: It's either that the memory is simply not compatible with the Z77x UD3H F11 BIOS, or the BIOS is simply not YET ready for this ultra high speed memory, despite what Gigabyte claims otherwise.

Overall Review: Tried all the tweaks imaginable to get this memory to run at rated speed, but no cigar. A future BIOS update seems to be the only feasable way in solving this issue.

Pros: Quality construction for a micro ATX board. Easy BIOS tuning for individual needs.

Cons: No issues to report.

Overall Review: Definitely would recommend, without all the bells & whistles of the more pricey boards.

Very fast, but runs hot

Intel Core i9-10900K - Core i9 10th Gen Comet Lake 10-Core 3.7 GHz LGA 1200 125W Intel UHD Graphics 630 Desktop CPU Processor - BX8070110900K

Pros: A much needed upgrade to my network. My first Comet Lake purchase, even though released 2 years ago. Has 10 cores/20 threads which runs under full load 24/7, along with the rest of the clients including a 24 core, AMD threadripper server. May very well purchase another Comet Lake CPU to complete the client side upgrade.

Cons: Can run hot, especially if you have inadequate cooling coupled with enabling all performance mode, turbo boosts in BIOS. However, running at stock settings while disabling turbo boosts reduces the temps in my experience, from 90C to 70C as a partial fix. Ideally a water cooled solution would be most desirable, or at least a push-pull air cooled scheme.

Overall Review: Definitely recommend purchasing this CPU, even though relatively inexpensive and dated.

G.SKILL Rocks As Usual

G.SKILL Sniper X Series 64GB (4 x 16GB) DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16Q-64GSXFB

Pros: Installed on an ASUS X299 board with an Intel I7-7820 CPU. Booted right up. No issues. May purchase an additional 64GB later on.

Cons: None so far.

Overall Review: Highly recommended, quality modules.

Awesome RAM. Does what its supposed to

G.SKILL Trident Z Neo Series 128GB (4 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16Q-128GTZN

Pros: Purchased 2 packages for a total of 256 GB. This is for my recently acquired 3rd generation, Threadripper 3960X. My Asus mobo immediately recognized the 8 sticks and rated speed at 3200 Ghz with no issues booting up. Runs stable at 24/7.

Cons: A bit pricey, but worth it.

Overall Review: GSkill's high quality & reliability is what motivates me in continuing purchasing their memory sticks for many years now.
