Excellent supply

CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-750TX 750 W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Compatible with New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Very well made. For many overclockers, having one +12v rail with a massive 60 amp capacity will provide absolute bedrock stability, which really helps keep a system running when you push it. It's not so much that your CPU or RAM is going to consume 60 amperes; but the pulses they generate as they switch will make HUGE picosecond demand on the abillity of the power supply to source or sink current. It's this ability to handle spiky demand on the rail that really makes for stability. If the supply can't cope, these rapid changes in demand will turn into NOISE on the rail, and the CPU and RAM will have a hard time telling the difference between noise on the rail and actual signals on their buses. This is why big, clean power supplies help the stability of a PC. Of course, all your drives, fans, video cards and so on also need capacity so this is also part of the equation.

Cons: Modular cables would have been nice. I didn't need all the drive cables; I had room to tuck them out of the way, but not everyone would.

Overall Review: Very attractive appearance. "Quality" feel. The cooling design, with a big (140 MM fan) yields the best cooling with minimal noise. I found it VERY quiet / silent. Comes in a velvet bag, like a bottle of Crown Royal.... ha ha ha.

Works...for a while

ASUS PCE-AC56 2x2 802.11ac WiFi AC1300 PCIe Adapter
ASUS PCE-AC56 2x2 802.11ac WiFi AC1300 PCIe Adapter

Pros: When I first installed this adapter, it provided HUGE throughput with my RT-AC68U router. However, after about 9 months I started experiencing problems...

Cons: ...after about 9 months I started experiencing problems. The ASUS WLAN software would refuse to "see" the adapter. Then I built a new PC- i7 4790K CPU, Gigabyte MoBo, Windows 7 Ultimate / 64, 16 GB of G.Skill RAM. After installing Windows 7/64 and installing all updates and chipset drivers via Ethernet, I installed the AC1300 adapter and loaded the latest version of the software. The software did not find tha adapter, no matter what I did. I was using on-board video, so the AC1300 was the ONLY board in the system. Even so, the ASUS software never "saw" that the board was installed. So- a CLEAN system, brand new Win7 installation with all the latest chipset drivers, and the ONLY software installed was the ASUS WLAN utility / drivers.... and it STILL didn't work.

Overall Review: I've read of others experiencing this problem, but I haven't heard of anything ASUS is doing to address it.

A MONSTER!

Intel Core i9-12900K - Core i9 12th Gen Alder Lake 16-Core (8P+8E) 3.2 GHz LGA 1700 125W Intel UHD Graphics 770 Desktop Processor - BX8071512900K

Pros: Really fast CPU. PCIE4 or PCIE5!! DDR5! A zillion cores, which Windows 11 manages to best effect.

Cons: Requires a big cooler! Requires a big PSU! Costs some money.

Overall Review: Great CPU for gaming or for prosumer content creation. Loafs along for day to day casual use; in fact I think I have heard it laughing at me when web browsing or using WORD.....

SEASONIC IS AMONG THE BEST!!!

Seasonic FOCUS GX-1000, 1000W 80+ Gold, Full-Modular, ATX Form Factor, Low Noise, Premium Japanese Capacitor, 10 Year Warranty, Nvidia RTX 30/40 Super, AMD GPU Compatible, Ref# SSR-1000FX
Seasonic FOCUS GX-1000, 1000W 80+ Gold, Full-Modular, ATX Form Factor, Low Noise, Premium Japanese Capacitor, 10 Year Warranty, Nvidia RTX 30/40 Super, AMD GPU Compatible, Ref# SSR-1000FX

Pros: This powers my i9-13900k and RTX-4090 without any problems. It's quiet, too. Modular cables make for good cable management.

Cons: Didn't come with the kind of power cable needed by the RTX-4090 so I had to use the Nvidia-supplied adapter, which works but isn't as neat as a dedicated cable would be.

Overall Review: I have had really good luck with all Seasonic power supplies I've used in builds over the past 20 years. None have ever failed.

Worthwhile addition to improve 5 GHz

Ubiquiti 2x2 MIMO BaseStation Sector Antenna AM5G1790
Ubiquiti 2x2 MIMO BaseStation Sector Antenna AM5G1790

Pros: It works well- increased 5 GHz signal by 6~10 dB Was easy to set up

Cons: Not the cheapest

Overall Review: I used this inside my home to improve the 5 GHz 'reception' on a PC that I use a lot, which was kind of far from my ASUS RT-AC86U router. It provided about 6 dB more signal or more from my router while rejecting some other signals better, which increased throughput and reliability. Seems like there should be more high-gain 5 GHz antennas available, and there are some at very high prices, but this one wasn't TOO expensive and worked well for me. The photo shows the antenna hanging off a nail on some moulding that frames a pass-through in my place. I could mount it better but this works.

Been running for 2 years with 0 errors

HGST Ultrastar He10 HUH721010ALE604 10TB 3.5" SATA 7200rpm Internal Hard Drive

Pros: I've got 4 of these in RAID 5 in a machine I use to store my DVD / BluRay collection. Been running for about 2 years now and the LSI RAID controller reports 0 errors - no errors for any of these drives. They seem VERY reliable.

Cons: They cost some money, more than "consumer grade" drives.

Overall Review: If you are looking for high levels of reliability in a 10 TB drive, I suggest considering these.

Very slow to ship product

If you are not in a hurry, this seller is OK. I ordered on RAM DIMM on July 2. and here it is July 6th 10 PM and although a tracking number has been created, the seller has not actually shipped the RAM.

Two 2 TB refurb Hitachi drives

Fast shipping, both drives arrived 100% operational. Burned them in for four days, no problems. Good stuff.

Poor service from this seller

I ordered an item and paid $30 extra fro overnight shipping. The seller didn't ship the item for over 48 hours. I sent them an email asking for the tracking number, they didn't respond. I sent them another email complaining about the shipping delay, they ignored that email too. I would never buy anything from them again, and I am considering taking my business- and substantial corporate business from my clients- to someone other than NewEgg.
