If you looking for a TANK of a CPU cooler your search stops here.

Noctua NH-D15 SE-AM4, Premium Dual-Tower CPU Cooler for AMD AM4 (Brown)
Noctua NH-D15 SE-AM4, Premium Dual-Tower CPU Cooler for AMD AM4 (Brown)

Pros: -Cooling, by far, is it's greatest strength -Quiet fans -Flexible and easy to install mounting system.

Cons: -Size can be a big con depending on the case. -Getting the front 140mm fan to fit along with the RAM can by challenging.

Overall Review: As it has been mentioned numerous times, your choice in case size will be the deciding factor if you should get this cooler or not. Your gonna need a case that has better than 165mm (7.5 inches) width size. The front 140mm fan can be adjusted to accommodate ram, but you lose out some cooling capability if you do. You can do what I did and buy a solid 120mm fan to replace the 140mm and get the same, if not better cooling ability and a more flexibility with your RAM. In keeping the Nocutua theme, I would suggest the Noctua NF-F12 PWM for both good air flow and low noise. It may add another $20 dollars to the price tag, but it can save you from having to omit the front fan, which would be a shame as this cooler is really set up best with 2 fans. In a case with good airflow there really isn't any air cooler on the market that can beat it for cooling potential and it puts most of the AiO coolers to shame. So even at $90 + $20 (NF-F12) = $110 it is still a better buy than decent AiO. Plus you never have to worry about a pump going out or a possible leak. Personally I like the look the cooler and even it's not-so-flashy color scheme. No one will ever mistaken what fans your are using.

Wierd, but works.

GIGABYTE GA-P43T-ES3G LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-P43T-ES3G LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Price. Comes with a serial port. Performance. Gives the 775 Core 2 line a DDR3 board that still prove those line of processors are far from dead. I like Gigabyte's mobo's better than any other brand I have used and all of them I have used work flawlessly and are very stable. This board does work fine now.

Cons: Similar experiences to what other posters have described. Fortunately for me a I was able to get this mobo to work, but not until after investing several hours of work, so this board was a bit of a let down. At this time I don't think I have bad board, but it does have some issues I've not seen before. I have a hard time believing that wireless USB keyboard could cause this much of a problem (See Below).

Overall Review: I'm still not certain what voodoo I did to get it to POST correctly. I paired it with some Corsair Ultra Stable memory 2X2gig and a Q8300 proc. Memory wasn't on the official memory chart, but I've never had any problems with Corsair ram working on any mobo I have used. The memory does work with this board. Trying everything you can think off, including every BIOS posted on Gigabyte's website. I still encounter the same problems: Not posting. looping, having to punch the reset button till i could get to the CMOS screen. I had been using a wireless keyboard and mouse set. The keyboard would not function after awhile, so I switched to a PS2 keyboard that I use sometimes for just setting systems up when all of a sudden my POST'ing problems disappeared. After establishing that it does indeed POST normally, I went into the CMOS Screen and noticed that all the USB ports were disabled. I turned them on in order to use my mouse, and presto! everything was working normal.

A solid, low-cost, no-frills power supply

SeaSonic S12II Series S12II 620 Bronze (SS-620GB) 620 W Intel ATX 12 V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply
SeaSonic S12II Series S12II 620 Bronze (SS-620GB) 620 W Intel ATX 12 V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: -Plenty of cables -Compact -Quiet -good warranty length -Good quality at a really good price.

Cons: -For its price range, can't really find any.

Overall Review: Can't say too much about longevity as I have only had it for a month, but I will say that you power quality has a big impact on anything that you plug into you wall socket, including PC power supplies. Most of my power supplies last me a least 10 years, and I don't expect that this power supply will be any different.

Excellent fan for all uses

Noctua NF-F12 PWM, Premium Quiet Fan, 4-Pin (120mm, Brown)
Noctua NF-F12 PWM, Premium Quiet Fan, 4-Pin (120mm, Brown)

Pros: -Quiet -Cooling -Packaging

Cons: -None that I have found

Overall Review: I got this fan to replace the front NF-A15 140mm fan on my Noctua NH-D15 SE-AM4 for more flexibility. It's a perfect match and fit and has performed flawlessly. The chatter about where this fan is made (Taiwan or China) is mostly irrelevant. Even the mighty Noctua is susceptible to some manufacturing defects that can slip past QC. Try not to read too much into it. I have 3 Noctua fans (2 -140mm and 1-120mm) an all of them are made in China and run perfectly. The colors all match as well.

A Classic cooler that still holds up well

ZALMAN CNPS9500A-LED 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler
ZALMAN CNPS9500A-LED 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler

Pros: -As far as heat sink installs go this is pretty straightforward. -Good solid fan that doesn't drown in you in noise. - I love the design. Very efficient and good looking to boot.

Cons: None that come to mind.

Overall Review: I have bought several of these over the years for different types of builds. For awhile it was my defacto heat sink to throw into builds that needed better cooling than a stock heat sink could provide. It may have been surpassed by bigger heat sink towers and bigger fans, but for my money this is the best 92mm fan size heat sink ever made. Just a solid all around performer.

Cheap, low power using processor

AMD Ryzen 3 1st Gen - RYZEN 3 1300X Summit Ridge (Zen) 4-Core 3.5 GHz (3.7 GHz Turbo) Socket AM4 65W YD130XBBAEBOX Desktop Processor
AMD Ryzen 3 1st Gen - RYZEN 3 1300X Summit Ridge (Zen) 4-Core 3.5 GHz (3.7 GHz Turbo) Socket AM4 65W YD130XBBAEBOX Desktop Processor

Pros: -Performance good for the price, especially for the AM4 platform price vs performance ratio. -Lower power cost compared to it's bigger R5 brothers. Which means this processor run really cool. Running in a well ventilated case with a ZALMAN CNPS9500A heatsink i'm seeing under 30C (27C to 28C) temps at idle and up to 50C under load at stock speed. If you ditch the stock cooler and go spend around $30 - $50 on a decent cooler you should have some pretty decent headroom for overclocking.

Cons: -Wish it came with the Wraith Spire cooler instead of the stealth. One might point out lack of SMT, or no integrated GPU and would question where it falls into the market segment, but that's not really what this processor if for.

Overall Review: This processor and the R3 1200 exist as an inexpensive means to get into a AM4 platform where overall processor performance isn't the priority. Not really meant to go head to head against intel's lower end processors, the next gen Raven Ridge APU is meant for that task. A lot of people will point out that you have to buy a separate graphic card, but if your actually gaming on this processor your going to want an actual graphic card as the built-in gpu's that you may find on certain processors have pretty poor performance. I have extra video cards laying around so I didn't care about a built-in gpu. I built a file server with this processor. I could of used the 1200 instead, but I like leaving myself some headroom for the future and spending an extra twenty dollars didn't matter to me so I splurged. I have a few extra AM3 compatible heatsinks laying around and used a ZALMAN CNPS9500A that had never been used. Needless to say, at stock speed with that cooler on it, there is no problem keeping it running super-cool. That stock cooler that comes with it would be perfectly fine to use at stock speed, but if you are going to overclock, do yourself, and your CPU a favor and buy a better heatsink.
