Linux nerd since MKLinux DR3 (1998). Mostly Red Hat distros but switching to Debian soon due to death of CentOS project. Not into flashy PCs. Other than a few obtained by dumpster diving, have built every x86 / x86_64 desktop I've used. Big fan of FLOSS. I don't overclock.

Well designed and properly thought out

SilverStone Sugo Series SG12 SST-SG12B-V2 Black Refinement of Classic Small Form Factor Case
SilverStone Sugo Series SG12 SST-SG12B-V2 Black Refinement of Classic Small Form Factor Case

Pros: While I don't need them, the case provides excellent support for a large number of 2.5" drives. They engineering is fantastic, they managed to design a compact case that allows installation of a proper full-sized ATX power supply. The single 5.25" drive bay is a really nice touch for those of us who like to rip audio CDs. The handle is a superb touch of class.

Cons: The biggest con is that the height of the CPU cooler is limited. For CPU cooling, it seems to be designed for air intake from the PSU to cause fresh air to be pulled in from side vents. With a PS that has a silent mode where the PSU fan either doesn't spin or spins slowly, the user really should be warned to install the two 80mm case fans (sold separately) that are listed as optional. ARCTIC COOLING ARCTIC F8 PWM ACFAN00204A has built in splitter so two can be run off same PWM header w/o needing to buy a splitter.

Overall Review: Yes. If building a compact PC, this is the case. I do not recommend it for heavy gaming but for medium gaming (I'm building for SecondLife) this case is perfect. Metal is better than plastic, SilverStone cases rival Lian-Li for build quality. If I could change one thing, ditch the 3-drive 3.5" bay and replace it with a elbow tube so the 120mm intake fan can supply fresh air directly to mobo/cpu area of case.

Excellent purchase

ARCTIC COOLING ARCTIC F8 PWM ACFAN00204A 80mm Case Fan
ARCTIC COOLING ARCTIC F8 PWM ACFAN00204A 80mm Case Fan

Pros: Not only is this fan four pin PWM, but each fan Includes a wired-in splitter allowing you to daisy chain two or three of these fans together so they only need a single four pin header on case. This is extremely beneficial with consumer motherboards that typically only have two case-fan headers. It allows one to be used for main intake, while daisy-chaining two of these together using the second case fan header. Note when daisy-chained only one fan reports RPM to motherboard, additional are slaves and should be same make/model.

Cons: Nothing I can think of.

Overall Review: If you need 80mm fans this is a really good fan to use. Two of them work nicely in compact cases like the Sugo SG12 to provide additional cooling to the video card.

Great product, minor grievance

Intel NUC 8 Mainstream-G Kit with Intel Core i5, Radeon 540X Discrete Graphics, 8GB RAM, with No Cord, Single Pack, Additional Components Required BXNUC8i5INHX
Intel NUC 8 Mainstream-G Kit with Intel Core i5, Radeon 540X Discrete Graphics, 8GB RAM, with No Cord, Single Pack, Additional Components Required BXNUC8i5INHX

Pros: Small, quiet, easy to set up.

Cons: It has four USB3 ports, 3 of which are Type-A and one of which is Type-C. It also has a built-in card reader. The product would be better if both front USB ports were Type-A and the card reader was removed, with two USB-C ports in its place. USB keyboard w/ built in hub uses two A ports, a UPS uses 1, and a hub uses 1. So the existing USB-C port needed an adapter as those devices (keyboard and UPS) really should plug into a hub.

Overall Review: Excellent small form factor PC, just wish the card reader wasn't there so a few more USB ports on the device itself would fit.

Great for a NUC

Intel 660p Series M.2 2280 1TB PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4 3D2, QLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDPEKNW010T8X1
Intel 660p Series M.2 2280 1TB PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4 3D2, QLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDPEKNW010T8X1

Pros: Lots of fast storage.

Cons: At least when installing in a NUC, the screw that secures an M.2 card is very small and easy to drop. That's not a flaw with this product, just something to note.

Overall Review: Definitely would purchase again. Lot of space, decent price.

Works well

Nippon Labs DP-DVI-6 6 ft. DP DisplayPort Male to DVI-D Male Adapter Cable, Black
Nippon Labs DP-DVI-6 6 ft. DP DisplayPort Male to DVI-D Male Adapter Cable, Black

Overall Review: Does exactly what it says it does, in my case allowing use of a DVI-D display with a DisplayPort video card. The six foot length is perfect for most people.

Works well

MSI GeForce GT 1030 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 (uses x4) Low Profile Video Card GT 1030 2GH LP OC
MSI GeForce GT 1030 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 (uses x4) Low Profile Video Card GT 1030 2GH LP OC

Pros: Works in low-profile case Low power consumption Two displays supported Works well in CentOS 7 (using elrepo for the driver)

Cons: Changing the bracket from standard to low profile was a pain in the, well, derrier. One of the screws is incredibly difficult to get at. That part could have been designed better.

Overall Review: Yes, I recommend this to other people. Perhaps not a video card for high-end gaming, but for those of us who do not do high end gaming, it is a low power option that supports two displays and has a massive heatsink instead of a fan. Note that the reason I reason I needed to replace my existing card, the fan died. This card won't have that failure. Also note that the large heat sink means you can not use the expansion slot next to it. Not an issue for me.

Very fast shipping and excellent packaging.

I did not contact this seller about this product (120mm x 15mm case fan) but I have contacted Noctua about HSF that I've purchased in the past and their support was both exceptionally fast and properly addressed the issue. Good company.

Arrived quickly

There was a hickup in the shipping tracking system. The part which was expect to ship on 12/6 actually arrived on 12/6 and on 12/7 is when my order history said "Label Created" with waiting to be picked up. But the part arrived well before I expected so zero complaints. Primarily leaving feedback to document it arrived in case there is confusion because of tracking hickup.
