Incompatible with other Home Plug Adapters
Pros: Inexpensive - would probably work with its own (other Trendnet) adapters.
Cons: Incompatible with the other Home Plug AV 500 adapters on my Network - I have four other adapters (2 TP-Link and 2 Actiontec) that work perfectly with each other. The Trendnets would not sync up with the other 4 so not good for using to expand an existing Homeplug AV network with other adapters
Overall Review: Very inexpensive ($24.99 on sale for AV 500 is an excellent price) but since they wouldn't work on my existing network I didn't try them on their own.
Big, Bulky and Difficult to install
Pros: Never installed it.
Cons: While it states it works with current wiring and bell it requires a lot of drilling, wiring and additional changes to the existing door bell chime. Thought it would be easy and straightforward (and I'm not afraid of DIY projects or electrical wiring) it was definitely not a simple project to get it hooked up and working. No instructions in the box (needed to download the app to get video instructions. Definitely disappointed in the company given its reputation.
Overall Review: Look elsewhere if you're looking for ease of installation and compatibility with your current door bell. Also, the only storage is through a cloud subscription plan.
Excellent Style and Construction
Pros: - Well Built - Plenty of Ports - Easy to open and expand - Comes with VESA bracket to mount to the back of a monitor - much better than paying for an All in One
Cons: - No OS (you need to get it and install separately) - No optical drive (unless you have an external one) so you need to be comfortable with creating and installing an OS from a USB stick - Price - I would only buy it if is on sale (at least 25% off)
Overall Review: - Maybe - make sure you need something this compact because there is a substantial premium for this - Any mini/small form factor has a significant premium - This certainly compares favorably with any of the Intel NUCs
Pros: This was plug and play on my phone (Stock LG G2 32 GB model) as advertised. Very light and compact (only 1.4 " long, .10 oz (3 Grams)). Solid Construction with aluminum casing.
Cons: The cover for the Micro USB port is plastic and could come off (it is attached to the main body of the drive) with long term use.
Overall Review: Much better than the clunky USB OTG cables. Isn't any more costly than some regular USB 3.0 drives without the OTG capability. If you have no Micro USB expansion (Moto X, Moto G, LG G2, HTC One, etc.) then you can't beat this for extra storage.
The Seller was fine.
Their product, however, was not. It was sold as an AC1200 USB adapter. The best I could do (connecting to an ASUS RT-AC66U (AC1750 Class router) ) was 300Mbps. I wanted at least 700Mbps as the adapter was only 20 feet away, was receiving a strong signal and still had subpar results.
Great Service - Made it right
We had a problem with the initial delivery and this seller made it right by reshipping it so we could receive the product. Their customer service was excellent and prompt in taking care of our problem and the product itself (an Anker 3200 external battery pack) is also an outstanding value.
