Works with Windows 7
Pros: Plug and Play with Windows 7 (if you follow the instructions). Good fit and quality construction. I am using the internal port for a software license dongle. It would also be good for using a dedicated flash for Ready Boost.
Cons: Like many cards, the internal port is shared with the adjacent external USB A/B port. If you use the internal you loose the external.
Overall Review: I botched the first install of the card by not unplugging all of the USB devices on my tower before powering up (as suggested by the instructions). While troubleshooting I noted that nowhere on the packaging or included literature did it say Windows 7. The Newegg "Details" page did not not list Windows 7 either. I looked up the card on the manufactures website and it listed Windows 7(32/64-bit). I calmed down, pulled the card, uninstalled drivers I forced into the mix, and started over. I re-installed the card following the instructions. Windows 7 recognized it without additional drivers. The Device Manager is happy now. I'm happy now. Life is good. I pulled an egg for not being fool proof.
Pros: This is a well made cable at an incredible price. It came with caps attached to protect the pins.
Cons: The size could be an issue for some. The cable is almost 3/8" diameter. The EMI/RFI chokes are 7/8" diameter.
Overall Review: This cable looks and specs like it would be right at home in a missile silo. It works great on the long run to my second monitor.
