Second try at X79 platform

EVGA X79 DARK - LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 E-ATX Motherboard with Brand New GUI BIOS (150-SE-E789-KR)
EVGA X79 DARK - LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 E-ATX Motherboard with Brand New GUI BIOS (150-SE-E789-KR)

Pros: Very nice board, plugged everything in and works flawlessly.(unlike my last board). Design of board is nice and fits pretty much in any ATX case even though its an E-ATX. Bios is set up very nice and easy to use. Bios has a lot of settings but it doesn't feel overwhelming like many other boards do with tons of settings.

Cons: Bios has a few bugs in early versions but they are minimal compared to many other X79 boards.

Overall Review: The E on the chipset heatsink should light up!!!

Wouldn't recommend

GIGABYTE GA-X79-UP4 LGA 2011 Intel X79 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-X79-UP4 LGA 2011 Intel X79 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Small ATX form not E-ATX. Kinda worked for a while. Its black and grey.

Cons: Board out of the box had memory issues where XMP profiles wouldn't work and had to manually enter memory settings. Board would not overclock at all. And was a real pain to make 32gb or ram run at 1866mhz. Ran for over a year then the marvel sata controller started not recognizing drives and then a week later I started having huge stability issues with the board and microsluttering while playing games. After a year of messing around with this board I've given up and going to buy an evga dark board and sell this junk...

Overall Review: Gigabyte has always been a good standby but I'm very disappointed in this board. Should of spend the extra 100 bucks and bought an asus or evga board....

Bad choice

CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX1200 (CMPSU-1200AX) 1200 W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 SLI Certified 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply
CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX1200 (CMPSU-1200AX) 1200 W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 SLI Certified 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Modular, nice size. Cables are good lengths for full towers.

Cons: Thought corsair was a good brand. As many people have reported this psu suffers from coil whinning bad. Mine even did it when the computer was off not even running it would just buzz away. I warrentied it on this issue and the next one didn't buzz as bad but still did it. I am running a quad core setup with 4 hard drives, 2 dvd roms, and 2 gtx 580's. This powersupply is not strong enough to be left on 24/7. Mine died after 8 months of use.

Overall Review: Bought an antec hcp1200. Don't even hear a peep out of it and its been running my setup for over a year now! Now all i have to do is ditch this powersupply on some corsair lover...

No Support What So Ever

D-Link DWA-552 Xtreme Desktop Adapter IEEE 802.11g, IEEE802.11n Draft 2.0 32-bit PCI Up to 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates
D-Link DWA-552 Xtreme Desktop Adapter IEEE 802.11g, IEEE802.11n Draft 2.0 32-bit PCI Up to 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: Great card. Have used it in 16 or so of my pc builds

Cons: Out of the 18 or cards that i bought i had 1 bad apple. They want me to spend $30 to ship it back for a $45 card. So wheres the warrenty in that?

Overall Review: They should hire tech support assistance that speak english as their first language

Good power but needs somework for a $300 psu

CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX1200 (CMPSU-1200AX) 1200 W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 SLI Certified 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply
CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX1200 (CMPSU-1200AX) 1200 W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 SLI Certified 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Very stable and powers my gtx 580s like its nothing.

Cons: I bought this psu due to its single rail design and is a lot shorter then many 1200W psu's out there. But it is majorly flawed with noise problems. Rma'd my psu only to find that the new one has the exact same ANNOYING buzzing when the computer is off. I can understand the psu buzzing and making noise when its on cause its 1200W. But come on when the computers off it shouldn't make a sound. I will be replacing it with an antec 1200 when i have some spare cash. Cause i sleep in the same room as my computer is in...
